  1. Bucks must be pretty upset. They almost had both Ed Davis and Patrick Patterson falling to them and instead of to settle for Larry Sanders. I know I would be upset if I was their GM.
  2. And who is this talented point guard that they should've went after? There are no point guards left in the draft worth even considering at 5. Bradley and Bledsoe are the two next best point guards, and they are fringe lottery picks.
  3. How sick are Johnson's pants? I think he became my new favourite player in this class.
  4. Alright, here are all of the mock drafts that I have received. Once I post this thread I will not go and edit anymore drafts in. Here we go: Dash 1. Washington Wizards: John Wall 2. 5. Five minutes and then I am going to start making the thread with all of the mocks in them. Anybody who wants to participate needs to get me their mocks by then.
  6. I'll sign on AIM if I can remember my password (haven't logged in for the last half year or something). I'm not sure how much I'll pay attention to the chat, but I'll join it.
  7. I won last year on NBAD with a score of 40 points. Most people were around the 25-33 range, if I recall correctly.
  8. Waiting on mocks from AboveLegit, Dash, Prodigy, xx. and ATDI. Try to get them in at some point within the next 40 minutes, preferebly ASAP.
  9. I can do that if you guys want me to, but I was just going to create a new thread right before the draft with all of the mocks posted in them. Then once the draft is over I will tally them. I really don't care about winning the prize anyways. Just a friendly competition is enough for me. To be perfectly honest, I doubt I would even win anyways as I have almost no feel for this draft outside of the top 8 or so. Hell, I don't even know who the hell Toronto is going to pick, haha. And just a reminder, I'll accept mocks for the next 30 minutes. Once I begin making the thread with all of the mocks, I will no longer accept anymore. I will begin making that thread at 3:30 (6:30 EST) when I get back from running a few errands. EDIT: I just realized that the draft starts at 7:30 EST and not 7 EST like I had though. I'll give you guys until 7 EST to get me your mocks so that I have half an hour to organize everything, which should be plenty of time.
  10. Found this on RealGM and I have no idea if the poster is legit or not, but with around 3 hours before the draft, I figured what the hell, I might as well post it as we will find out soon enough if there is any validity to it. I think that these are all realistic rumours and none of them sound too far-fetched. I can see some of these things happening, so it wouldn't surprise me if they were true. They basically continue on what many of us have speculated in the past (having to include the draft pick to get a team to take on Turkoglu, Indiana wanting a point guard etc...).
  11. Bump. Just wanted to remind you all once again to get your mocks in ASAP. I'd prefer to have them all in within the next 2, and will accept them within the next 2 and a half hours at the absolute latest. Also, if you want to edit your mocks at all because of trades, new rumours or whatever, make sure to do that and send me your revised copy. I've only receieved 5 mocks so far out of the 15 (myself not included) people that have signed up.
  12. If you want to get technical, it actually does. His contract decreased by $500,000 to $8.5M for next season and then the season after that it decreases by $1,000,000 to $8M. ^_^ Wizards get a capable starting point guard who can knock down open shots and defend any point guard and small two guard in the NBA, along with the 17th pick in the draft for what I imagine will be absolutely nothing. What a deal for the Wizards. And now once this trade happens and with the Heat's trade yesterday, both Miami and Chicago can now offer two max contracts. Chicago is in the best position in the NBA when it comes to free agency, with Miami 2nd. They can offer two max contracts while maintaining 4/5ths of a starting lineup that brought them to the playoffs last year while Miami had to absolutely gut their roster in order to get their cap space (aren't Chalmers and Beasley the only ones under contract now?). Trade makes sense for both teams. Hinrich is exactly the kind of vet that you would want around a young player like Wall. I think this spells the end of Arenas in Washington as well, which is probably another reason why Washington would do it, haha.
  13. I don't buy it. I think this is a huge smokescreen by Presti. I think his real target is Aldrich and he is just using Hayward as a prop to take the attention off of Aldrich.
  14. Much to my relief, it sounds like the Fernandez + 22nd for the 13th trade is dead. Also, according to Chad Ford, the Raptors and Oklahoma City have been discussing a trade that involves the Raptors 13th pick. Don't know anything else. I wouldn't mind seeing the Raptors trade the 13th for the 18th and either the Thunder's (I still hate calling them that, by the way) 21st pick or teh 26th pick that originally belonged to the Suns. I think that if the Raptors don't draft Bradley and with Miami trading their 18th pick to the Thunder (again, hate calling them that) that there is a very good possibility that he will still be on the board at 18 as the Rockets, Bucks, Bulls and Wolves have no use for a player like Bradley with Brooks, Jennings, Rose and Flynn and Rubio on their teams already (well, the rights to Rubio at least). If they could trade down to 18 and still get one of the players that they want while obtaining another pick in the process, I would love it. Even if Bradley isn't on the board, the Raptors seem to like Bledsoe as well and I guarantee that at least one of them would still be available. You would have to think that Aldrich is the guy the Thunder are targeting and trying to move up for. I know that there have been rumours of Hayward, but I don't buy them. I think Hayward is a smokescreen and OKC is after Aldrich. He just makes too much sense for them, while Hayward makes absolutely no sense. I can see a scenario happening where Colangelo tells Presti that he likes Aldrich as well and has no problems drafting him. If Bradley is still on the board at 18, Presti will draft him and then the Raptors will swap Aldrich for Bradley while gaining the either the 21st or 26th pick. If Bradley is gone, Colangelo will probably be content to just keep Aldrich. And, lastly, Michael Grange thinks that the Raptors will be drafting a big: From his Twitter account.
  15. I don't know who Gery Woelfel is or how credible he is, but this makes sense for both teams. The Pacers desperately need a point guard and Andre Miller is one of the better point guards in the NBA. The only thing about this trade for Indy is that their system is so heavily dependant on three point shots, and Miller is a poor shooter from distance. However, I think that with his playmaking ability, it would compensate for his lack of three point shooting because it would open things up more for the rest of the team. As for Portland, they clearly want to hand over the reigns to Bayless and Miller is in his way. They trade a player who isn't in their plans and they aren't exactly thrilled with and the 22nd draft pick to get into the top 10. I don't see why they wouldn't do this, if this rumour is actually legit. EDIT: I just realized that Miller is 34 years old. For some reason I thought he was younger than that. His age makes this a bit of a head scratcher for the Pacers. Not sure if it makes much sense to trade the 10th pick for a 34 year old point guard who will probably only be with you for another 2 years.
  16. Just a reminder to get your mockes in one hour before the draft starts tomorrow. I'll accept them 30 minutes before the draft starts, but I would much rather have all of them an hour before so that I have plenty of time to organize everything before the draft starts. Also, if you have sent me a mock already and want to edit it after the trades that have happened today, make sure that you send me a revised copy, or else I will use the one that I currently have.
  17. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/17022/wednesday-night-draft-chatter Umm... Where do I sign up? On a serious note though, you have to think that there is more to this. I can't see the Warriors simply trading away the 6th pick and Monta Ellis just to dump salary. It makes absolutely no sense. The Warriors have made some head scratching moves in the past, but this is just insane.
  18. Why would Colangelo do this? The Raptors already have their Rudy Fernandez in Marco Belinelli. They are basically the exact same player. Just look at how similar they were statistically last season. Season Averages Belinelli: 7.1 ppg/1.4 rpg/1.3 apg/40.6 FG%/38.0 3PT% in 17.0 mpg Fernandez: 8.1 ppg/2.6 rpg/2.0 apg/37.8 FG%/36.8 3PT% in 23.2 mpg Per 36 Minutes Belinelli: 15.1 ppg/3.1 rpg/2.9 apg Fernandez: 12.6 ppg/4.1 rpg/3.2 apg Advanced Statistics Belinelli: 12.6 PER/54.3 TS%/20.1 USG%/106 ORtg/114 DRtg Fernandez: 13.1 PER/54.0 TS%/17.7 USG%/108 ORtg/107 DRtg These two play very similar games and put up basically the exact same numbers. Belinelli (24) is one year younger than (25) Fernandez. They are basically the exact same size as Fernandez is 6-6, 185 while Belinelli is 6-5, 192. It makes absolutely no sense to trade down 9 spots in the draft to acquire a player who you already have basically an exact replica of. The only way that this makes any sense at all is if the Raptors have a guarantee that the player they want at 13 would still be there at 22, and even then, what is the point in making such a risky move anyways? Terrible trade idea and I hope to god that nothing comes of it.
  19. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/17035/why-deng-to-clips-in-swap-of-picks-would-be-good-fit Luol Deng and the 17th pick for the 8th pick. I think I would probably pull the trigger on this if I was the Clippers because, like stated in the article, there is basically no chance that the Clippers land a marquee free agent this summer. The 8th pick would probably be somebody like Aminu, and I don't think that he will ever be as good as Deng is, or at the very least, his best case scenario would be something similar to what Deng will give you now. The Clippers solidify their starting lineup and would also get the 17th pick to use in hopes of getting a solid bench player. I don't know how valid this rumor is, but I think that it makes sense for the Clippers, and the Bulls clear even more salary to work with in free agency, while adding a young piece with the 8th pick. This trade would have to wait until July 1st though as the Clippers would need to wait until they officially have cap space in order to absorb Deng's contract, so the Clipps would pick somebody at 8 for Chicago and the Bulls would do the same at 17 and then they would swap the picks along with Deng after July 1st. EDIT: Looks like Confidence already posted this while I was typing up my post.
  20. With all of the questions surrounding Orton's knees, conditioning, lack of playing time and rawness, I don't think that the Thunder needed to make this trade to get Orton as he probably would still be on the board at 21, or maybe even 26, although I think somebody would take a chance on him by then. Should be interesting to see what the Thunder do with their three picks. Do they keep all of them or do they try and package them together and move even further up the draft? If they do keep all three, who do they take with them? This draft is going to be so unpredictable.
  21. Nevermind, judging from your responses in this thread, it is not even worth saying anything to you.
  22. It sounds like the Raptors have narrowed their board down to 4 players (at least according to Doug Smith and his "sources"), and, assuming this is correct, the Patterson rumors were a smokescreen. http://www.thestar.com/article/827637--muddled-draft-makes-work-tough-for-raptors Basically the three players that I knew the Raptors were interested in, and then Udoh, who I expected that the Raptors were interested in, but didn't know for sure. Out of this group of 4, I would rank them: 1. Paul George 2a. Avery Bradley 2b. Cole Aldrich 4. Ekpe Udoh I would be happy with any of the first three though. I'm not sure how I would feel about Udoh because I don't see him as a center in the NBA and I don't know how effective a Bargnani/Udoh frontcourt would be.
  23. Why don't you actually post the entire sentence that I wrote? This is actually what I wrote: I guess it would be no good posting the bolded parts though, as those parts of my post don't suit your agenda. I love it when people take out one or two sentences of an entire post and try to twist it around to prop theirsleves up.
  24. I'm leaning more towards Bradley just because he has a higher ceiling. I'm at the point where I want the Raptors to go for broke this draft and just pick somebody who has a high ceiling. Bradley probably has the highest ceiling out of any of the players that they seem interesetd in other than maybe Paul George, who I don't see falling to 13 anyways. Not that I would be upset with Aldrich though. He is never going to be anything more than a Kendrick Perkins type of defensive big man (not comparing the two, just the roles that they will have throughout their career), which there is absolutely nothing wrong with. he just lacks the potential that Bradley has, and with the Raptors roster in shambles and them probably going to be blowing it up this summer, I just want them to roll the dice on somebody. Then again, they are going to suck next season and have a high pick next year. From my understanding, the draft next year looks to be pretty strong with guards/wing players with players like Harrison Barnes, Josh Selby, Kyrie Irving and maybe Brandon Knight being one and dones and fairly thin at the 5 (Jared Sullinger and is that it?), so it may make sense to get your future center in this draft and then look for your future guard next year.
  25. God dammit, can't these other teams share the wealth here? The Thunder already had the 21st and 26th picks and now they feel the need to get the 18th as well?
