I've had the iPhone 2 iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 and my only problem I've had is losing them. If you do get the iPhone 4 you NEED a case it scratches very easily without one. Other than that I feel it is the best phone on the AT&T market. I have fat thumbs and thought the touch screen would be a huge problem getting used to but it really isn't as hard as you'd expect. Me and my sister got our phones back in October together and she got the torch. Her phone has had countless problems (technical issues,buttons falling off,etc.) my only problem is heavy scratching in the back and one large one done the center of the screen which hasn't effected performance at all but they are all from neglect of me not using my case and being clumsy with my phone. Trust us get the iPhone you won't regret it. I had a blackberry curve too and it had some of the stupidest issues like somedays if the humidity was too high the buttons would stop working, absolutely ridiculous. I'd have a tough time going back to blackberry.
