ALCS Discussion: Angels vs Yankees

It's stupid with all of the comments about t.v.'s being out just because the New York Yankees are good. I hate them, but some of you are just annoying as hell. Is it me or does Donavan McNabb have more NFC Championship losses than the New York Yankees have World Sreies? -
He doesn't even need big holes like Adrian Peterson does to get big yards.

This guy is going to be an absolute stud someday, and I think he will be one of the best RB's in the NFL next season if this season hasn't proven enough. I absolutely love this guy.

Damn, I am surprised that the New Orleans Saints won by that much. The terrible pass-interference call completely changed the game around.

It's about damn time, and hopefully the New England Patriots can put a show on against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London next week. However, I have to say that the weather definitely benefits a good offense because the players can get their footing much easier, but this was a great win, that could have easily been much worse if Tom Brady stayed. If Tom Brady stayed in, I think that the New England Patriots would have easily scored 70 points, and possibly 80 points.

Look who's complaining about a first-base umpire now. Hypocrite. -

The New York Yankees always find a way to win the game. I knew that something bad would happen after the Los Angeles Angels scored the go-ahead run. -

There's more of a standard for touching the base than there is for a strike-zone. Also, whether or not a call that happens in the 1st inning should be called exactly the same as the same play that may happen in the 9th inning, it just doesn't work that way. In a Game 7, there is no way that a minor interference call that may have been called in the 1st period would be called in over-time. -

I like consistency, but not when it has to do with touching the bag, which is totally different than umpires that all have different strike-zones. So, I'm guessing you should be allowed to cut inside third -base on the way to home plate as a short-cut. -

You need to touch second base on that play, even if it hasn't been called all game. Having to touch the bag can change the whole play around. -

It may sound bias, but people need to realize that money doesn't buy a World Series. It sure as heck helps, and I would not want the Boston Red Sox to have the same payroll as the Florida Marlins, but money doesn't buy teams a ring. -

C.C. Sabathia will choke when it matters most. Anyways, I could care less who wins this series as long as the Lo0s Angeles Dodgers win the World Series. -
Past And Present Generations
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Other Sports Discussion
You can't just look at stats. The average GPG when Wayne Gretzky was playing was higher than today, goalies are dressed like Michilen Men today, and the rules have drastically changed. Also, I don't like when people try and say that a certain player from the past average 7 more ppg than the second closest player, versus LeBron who may have scored 3 more ppg than the second closest player when all it means is that today's game is much more balanced. Go ahead and quote me. If Babe Ruth played in today's MLB, he wouldn't be as good as Will Mo Pena today. -
Oh, and just in case you didn't know, Barack Obama was only in office for 13 days before the nominations for the awards were due. .

Does anyone else think that too many people don't really watch or understand sports, and automatically assume that people from past generations are the greatest players? I'm saying that people consider Wayne Gtetzkey, Magic Johnson, Jim Brown, and others to be some of the best in their respective sports, but people have to face the facts that they would get [expletive] raped in today's game. Yes, Magic Johnson would get [expletive] on by LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, and some other players if he were still playing.
