Mega Millions Won in the Bronx
EastCoastNiner replied to ManOnTheMoon's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
It's obviously still a lot of money, but that is a lot of money to be taken away from someone as well. -
Yes, Terry Francona does, and he does it during his post-game conferences. .

Mega Millions Won in the Bronx
EastCoastNiner replied to ManOnTheMoon's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
And, that $166.5 mil is going to be about $80 mil after taxes and other bull-[expletive]. -
The records that Tiger Woods would have to break take years, whereas the records that Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt have to break can take a matter of seconds. It's not a good comparison with Tiger Woods involved because the other two sports are racing, and generally you know how fast someone is going to be because you don't drastically change speeds in every race, but in golf, you can have one poor day, and someone else can excel well beyond the talent they have shown, and you can lose the event.

Typical response from you. This is why people don't like Philadelphia fans.
-
Well, his 15:1 K/Walk ratio is unbelievable to me considering what I had to go through watching him pitch on the Boston Red Sox, and I know that Brady Penny is going to do well, and I think that will piss me off more than John Smoltz doing well so far.
-
Alright, when another team picks him up, I'm expecting him to have a sub 2.00 ERA, and average 10 strikeouts/9 innings. Look at John Smoltz! You have got to be kidding me. Oh, and Julio Lugo is tearing it up. .

I still fail to see how people are saying Atlanta. Atlanta Hawks made the playoffs. Atlanta Falcons made the playoffs. Atlanta Braves are competitive, and could still win the NL East. Atlanta Thrashers aren't good, but they are improving. From the teams that you listed, the following are all worse cities than Atlanta right now: Denver Detroit Miami Minnesota Phoenix San Fransisco/Oakland Toronto Washington
-
I'm really surprised that nobody has mentioned Miami or Tampa Bay........ Also, Phoenix has had [expletive] teams as a whole lately, excluding the Arizona Cardinals one appearance in the Super Bowl.
-
We should probably relax a little bit, but there is more stuff going on in other threads.
-
I'm sure there are, and I'm sure they have good reasons to hate the Boston Red Sox as well, but I'm sure most of it has to do with the recent success, so I'm not really surprised with people hating the Boston Red Sox. I'm sure the Boston Red Sox are the #1 or #2 hated team, and I understand that.

Well, if you want, you can try and find a post where I have been happy that Chien Ming Wang is out because of an injury, or any other injury to a New York Yankee's player, but you may be looking for an eternity. If Philadelphia fans in general didn't act like they are the toughest people in the world, and whine that they have a bad reputation, then most people wouldn't have a problem with them, and if you want to talk about being on a "high-house", I can remember posts about you being on you "high-hourse" over the New York Mets choking, and being cocky and arrogant. And, if it would give you any more comfort, you can go look at my posts in the baseball section from the past two months, and I highly doubt that you are going to find any posts from me saying that I think the Boston Red Sox are the best team, but I'm sure you will find most of the posts talking about how bad they have, and are sucking.
-
No, but I wouldn't be surprised if he cross-checked him from behind into the glass. I know you are quite familiar with that scene as a Philadelphia Flyers fan.
-
You're just mad that your fan base is full of many classless "fans", or douche-bags, whichever you prefer to call them. Wishing injuries on players, and being happy that players are hurt is probably the most disgusting thing that a fan can hope for in sports, and that is exactly what a few of you guys are doing on here, it's pathetic. Also, you just need to deal with people generalizing Philadelphia fans because you guys have earned the reputation, and there's a reason you don't hear about it nearly as much in other cities, and that's because most of the bad [expletive] happens in Philadelphia. Most of the time I feel like Philadelphia fans get a bad rap, but you guys, and the rest of your barbaric fan base cause me to think otherwise.
-
I hate to break it to you, but you're wrong. It is selfish because those people are ONLY thinking about THEMSELVES, and leave their family to mourn. It's a pathetic act to commit.
-
I wouldn't even make certain comments if a lot of them weren't so ignorant and stupid. The whole "Philadelphia gets a bad reputation for no reason" crap is done, they deserve all of the [expletive] that get, and of course it's their fans that would be laughing at injuries, even though some of their teams are dirty as [expletive]....like the Philadelphia Flyers that take a [expletive] load of cheap-shots, and it will only be more with Chris Pronger this year. They laugh at injuries, but when Shane Victorino gets beer spilled on him, they are all up in arms. .

Who has been the biggest loser this decade?
EastCoastNiner replied to Revis Island's topic in General NBA Discussion
1.Probably not. 2. That just means he may not take responsibility, so you fail there. 3. What the hell does that have to do with being a "loser". 4. Yes, and if you say no, it's probably because he hasn't had a chance because he's ALWAYS injured. You're a [expletive]ing moron. -

Yao must be a loser too, right? -
He's probably already given them to Ryan Howard and Raul Ibanez.
-
Do all Philadelphia fans have comprehension problems? I'm asking because I know your fellow Philadelphia fan has a problem with that sometimes. He said that David Ortiz is penciled in every game, which is not true, and that it's harder to pencil in an NL pinch runner in extra innings than it is to pencil in David Ortiz, which makes no sense. It must be the water.
-
That made absolutely ZERO sense. Whoever is the starting pitcher for an NL team is automatically in the line-up, so they are there...automatically. David Ortiz is not automatically in the line-up, and someone else may be used as the DH depending on the opposing pitcher, so once again, you make no sense with your comment about easily writing David Ortiz's name on the line-up card when that is not guaranteed, unlike an NL pitcher being in the line-up. .
-
Clay Bucholtz was a pinch-runner last week, so there goes that point. And, you're whole players being injured part, get out of here with that garbage because every team has players that are playing below 100% health.

Obamas 9 Trillion Dollar Defecit Plan
EastCoastNiner replied to Mike Hawk's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Do any of you democrats want to pay my "reasonable" taxes? -
I read the entire post, and I don't disagree that those are things that NL managers have to deal with, but the decisions aren't as difficult as you want to make it seem. Anyways, I'd take Mike Scoscia over most, if not all NL managers, and almost any manager in the MLB.
