  1. James Harrison will not have as good of a season as last year, and their offense is pretty average, and I'm hoping that comes back to bite them.
  2. I knew you were going to say this when I saw the last person to reply in this thread was.
  3. My favorite thing about New York Yankees fans is when a Boston Red Sox fan will say something about winning two World Series Championships recently, and the New York Yankees fans always resort to the, "We have won 26 World Series, so YAH"! Seriously, that gets old so quick. Nobody is saying that the Boston Red Sox are a more successful "Franchise", but they have been better in recent years, so stop living in the past. The same thing goes for Montreal Canadiens fans.......
  4. Too bad Mr. Torres had nothing to say two weeks ago when his team came up short.
  5. This is a pretty tough question. However, no sports playoffs are better than the NHL, and that is just the truth. I think the fact that a series goes at least 4 games plays a role in determining which "Championship" game is a persons favorite, but the Super Bowl is so damn exciting.
  6. Which fans do you think are worse? I'm asking this because I feel like New York Yankee fans absolutely rip their players apart if they are in a little slump, and I always see New York Mets fans booing and hating on their team. David Ortiz had a TERRIBLE start to the season, and I can't recall a single time where he was booed by Boston Red Sox fans, but if he were a New York Yankee....holy [expletive], he would probably be in retirement! It's pathetic when A-Rod can bat .320, 40HR, 120 RBI's and get constantly booed. .
  7. I think Martian Gortat's tattoo on his leg is lame as hell.
  8. I think Joe Mauer has the 2nd most value in the MLB to Albert Pujols, but it may be closer than people think. Anyways, the Boston Red Sox don't have to worry about trading to get him.......they'll sign him in the off-season. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif .
  9. Where the hell has this guy been? Kevin Youkilis has been playing 3B since Mike Lowell was hurt. . And, yes, I wish Lars Anderson was performing so he could try and show his potential.
  10. Also, can't one make the argument that since Hanley Ramirez plays SS and can play the OF, it increases his value? .
  11. I love Dustin Pedroia, and I would not want to trade him, but the St. Louis Cardinals would honestly laugh at this trade. I think they would ask for something like: Kevin Youkilis Jon Lester Daniel Bard Lars Anderson Very good prospect I think people underestimate how much it would really cost to get a player like Albert Pujols. Also, when people mention that LeBron James plays a larger percentage of the game than an NHL player does, that is true, but you have to factor in how many points a "Power Play" gets a team, and players like Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Alexander Ovechkin FEAST on the "Power Play". Also, it's not like the 3rd line of an opposing team is going to be playing against Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, or Alexander's Ovechkins line where the majority of the scoring comes from.
  12. No one is denying that. Howevever, if you are trading for LeBron James, you're going to deplete your entire team, whereas in the MLB and NHL you don't have to completely deplete your team. There's no way that it is LeBron James.
  13. His excellent hitting ability makes up for his fielding.
  14. I don't think you understand how much harder it is to get "value" in the NBA than it is in the MLB/NHL. In the NBA, you are only going to be dealing current NBA players and garbage picks. Also, I really don't see what team would trade for LeBron and give up everything they have(your point), or trade a star for a star. It just doesn't work that way. Let me give an example of what the Boston Bruins would have to give up for Alexander Ovechkin, with cap space not taking effect, although I don't think this would even be enough, and I doubt either team would do the trade. Phil Kessel David Krejci Blake Wheeler Tukka Rask Dennis Wideman For: Alexander Ovechkin That is probably too much to give up, but that is a type of package that it would take in order to get Alexander Ovechkin. The farm system and AHL is the main reason for MLB and NHL players having more trade value than NBA players.
  15. Don't blame the Colt's defense for Peyton Manings playoff failures. Here are Peyton Manning's numbers for his playoff losses: 2000: MIA 23, IND 17 17/34, 194 yds, 53.1% passing, 1 TD, 0 sacks, 82.0 rating. 2001: Missed the playoffs. 2002: NYJ 41, IND 0 14/31, 147 yds, 45.2% passing, 0 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack, 31.2 rating. 2003: NE 24, IND 14 23/47, 237 yds, 48.9% passing, 1 TD, 4 INT, 4 sacks, 35.5 rating. 2004: NE 20, IND 3 27/42, 238 yds, 64.3% passing, 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack, 69.3 rating. 2005: PIT 21, IND 18 22/38, 290 yds, 57.9% passing, 1 TD, 0 INT, 5 sacks, 90.9 rating. 2006: Won the Super Bowl because the New England Patriots gave the Colts the AFC Championship game, yet Peyton Manning still sucked dick during the playoffs, and got an undeserving "Super Bowl MVP" award. 2007: SD 28, IND 24 33/48, 402 yds, 66.8% passing, 3 TD, 2 IN, 0 sacks, 97.7 rating. 2008: SD 23, IND 17 25/42, 310 yds, 59.5% passing, 1 TD, 0 INT, 1 sack, 90.4 rating. Hmmmmm, I'm having a hard time understand how it's the Colts defense's fault for Peyton Manning and the Colts offense putting up 17, 0, 14, 3, 18, 24, and 17 points in all of Peyton Manning's playoff losses. They scored 20 points ONE TIME in the playoff games Peyton Manning lost. I'm focusing on the losses because you guys seem to believe that it's the Colts defense fault for Peyton Manning putting poor number, except that last few seasons. Now, go ahead and look at Tom Brady's numbers in his playoff losses, and his numbers are not bad. I can't wait for Mason to try and tell me that it was the defense's fault for not scoring any points in the blowout where the defense also sucked, and every other game where Peyton Manning didn't show up.
  16. No. No. No. Do NOTTTT do a "Fantasy Draft". There are about five times as many players on an NFL team as there are on an NBA team, and it wouldn't be fair to screw people over not being able to draft in the later rounds. Maybe we can all sign-up for the teams that we want, and Alec can simulate and entire draft, so everyone has completely random teams. IMO, I think that would be pretty cool.
  17. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/index.php?/topic/855-steve-mcnair-hall-of-fame-or-not/.
  18. David Wright doesn't have more trade value than a few players in his own division. Hanley Ramirez has more, and I'd even say that Johan Santana does. Anyways, I still think that Albert Pujols would command an absolute fortune, and I think that Jon Lester has a lot of trade value, considering that he is young and dominant, and he was the main player that the Minnesota Twins wanted for Johan Santana.
  19. Keep laughing mother [expletive]er! Those two have some nice rings, and Jon Lester has a "No-Hitter". http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif .
  20. Screw Tim Lincincum and Matt Cain. Josh Beckett and Jon Lester all the way mother [expletive]ers!
  21. I think it's very close, but I think the West may have a slight edge, especially with the new additions to the Spurs, and the Portland Trailblazers on the rise.
