  1. Mr.Hinrich all the way. More diverse, experienced and evenly rounded. Then again... i have a bit of a bias going on. BTW, i think Gordon is a fantastic player and will shape up to be a semi-star in the NBA.
  2. They would have to give up Bynum in a deal for Harris. My thing is, i dont like Harris and i think a double guard situation would be worse then a double big man situation. He had one good year and all the sudden everyone is all over him. I dont buy it. He had garbage on that team to work with, we know he comes from a good professional background, but can he keep up great play for long term? In the play offs? how clutch is he? ect. ect. ect. The highest i see his bar is at around 15-6 which, IMO is not worth Andrew Bynum... The Lakers would be much better off pushing the Bosh issue.
  3. I dont think we will see self leave for a very long time. You take a position at KU because you want to be a part of history and a couple seasons ago when Pickins was throwing money at him to go back down south he flat out turned it down. This man wants his name in the history books, he knows and understands that KU is probably THE most historic basketball program be it professional, college, dleague, whatever. Self will be here for 20+ years i think. And Manning might be right with him most of the trip. I dont see manning as someone who wants to coach, he does not have the X's and O's when it comes down to every position, he does however, create a mean big man. Given his history with us, i see him a lot like Bill Self and wanting to be in the history books as an elite. If he was to go anywhere else at all without it being UCLA, UK or UNC his legacy could be damaged.
  4. I agree. This team should be Eastern contenders right now and this guy is just screwing everyone around.
  5. I can. This is the one thing that the fans control in the NBA. ONE THING that does not matter at all, if you took the All-Star game out of the NBA season then everything that matters would still be exactly the same. Ray Allen is just jealous that people still want to see what TMac and Iverson can do when they have the spotlight over him.
  6. He starts by talking about his experience at a mosque and then... well i really cannot understand him for like 30 seconds. Then he moves on to talk about how the human mind is kind of predisposed to believe that everything has to be created by design. Now he is talking about "you cannot disprove" debate. and of course the last part is about "fear" and how it is used negatively in society and god himself is created from fear and how religion runs on fear. Although it is basic arguments for the most part, it is pretty decent. I watched it twice and i can understand like 70% of it now. Personally i enjoy the "Why do people laugh at creationists?" and "Foundational Falsehood of Creationism" series'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS5vid4GkEY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnJX68ELbAY
  7. If prince can recover from this injury then he should be a pretty valuable guy. A lot of GMs and coaches recognize that this guy has one of the highest basketball IQs in the NBA and could easily be the glue to a championship team... again.
  8. To call someone underrated that means that the general fan does not recognize what he brings to the table. Zach has been on four teams in his career (Blazers, Clippers, Knicks, Grizzlies), which means plenty of types of fans should know about him in one form or another and he has been in both the East and Western conference. Most people who are general fans of the NBA know and recognize what he brings to the table.... No defense, 20 points, 10 rebounds. Since many fans have recognized this from him since around.. i dunno, '02 or something he cannot be considered underrated. He is still the same Randolph that we all know and hate, the only difference is instead of being on a team full of vets, he is on a team full of youth. Fact is the one thing this team needed from last season to be a 50% team was just a bit more scoring. Randolph just happens to be that guy.
  9. Im pretty glad we lost the Tenn game, we needed a humbling loss. I am also hoping to lose one game in about two weeks, then one game right before the tourney. If we can do that, bam, title.
  10. UNC with Roy Williams will never be an overrated team, but people need to realize that they are just a young team whose still learning. Come tourney.... sweet 16 team, next year... contender.
  11. Aboslutely not. I actually have a pet-peve toward PGs who average 20 points but can only get 5 assists at best. The only way Arenas would be a successful player on a successful team is if he was played much like Iverson was early on in his career, and that is as a SG. The man is a scorer, not a passer and definitely not a team leader.
  12. as with most boys 7th-10th grade ball, its about the basics. Keep it simple until you know what you have on the team. Personally i would tell them to play for a quarter, then decide what offensive and defensive drills i should run based on what they provided.
  13. I hate seeing this for a team like Orlando, but they are basically in an unrealized rebuild. Last season they made the finals because of the mismatches they created, because of the dynamic they had. They had an identity as a team and great chemistry. With Turk being gone it changed everything. VC is not someone you rely on, they should have known this when they got him. Sure he would have been fantastic come play off time, but do not give up Turk for him. Now not only did they give up Turk but they gained Nelson, yes GAINED him. This team made the finals without him and with him in the line up it creates a completely different beast. I dunno, i could rant for hours about the Magic and stupid mistakes they make or do not even consider. I tried to root for them in the early 90s, then they made one bad choice after another, then it never stopped with the bad choices... and about two seasons ago i thought things would change. Guess not.
  14. But he is. The only way for this team to actually improve over last season is to win the finals. The only way they were to do that is by stacking VC on their depth chart without losing Turk. I hear a lot of people who think Turk is some only slightly valuable player simply because they look at his stats (which do warrant a 9 million dollar a year contract), but no, on this team he helped create a completely different dynamic which made them NBA contenders.
  15. Love to say the Thunder but i think the experience on the Grizz would push them past to thep lay offs.
  16. Zach Randolph is not underrated. He has always been known as a scorer only and nothing he is doing this season is different from previous. The man is still a PF who plays a defensive level lower then the opposing players own shoe strings. Any player who cannot be even adequate as a defender should never be considered underrated. Overlooked is a better term, and sometimes there is a good reason for players being overlooked.
  17. Yes to both. Lakers get a better big man in return who seems like he would fit their offense perfectly. Bosh can also stay healthier then Bynum. Raptors get an upcoming all-star in return for Bosh, instead of him leaving and them getting nothing in return.
  18. PG: Hinrich SG: Brewer SF: Tayshawn Prince PF: Troy Murphy C: Dally
  19. K... see.... ive caught a lot of [expletive] for saying this, but this team is not better with Jameer Nelson and they will not make the Finals with him as their PG. '08 With Nelson in the P/Os early knock out. '09 Without Nelson in the P/Os, Finals appearance. Jameer has been back for 9 games, out of those 9 games they have had 5 losses... just sayin..
  20. The mechanics of the shot are the exact same as a normal shot, it just mentally screws with you because there is something kind of in the way.
  21. Aye, empowered woman are a good thing and being self-reliant is always a must for my attraction. Anywho it bothers me when people think women cannot be good players or compete with a male. Look at Reggie Miller. To this day he will say the best player he has ever played against is his sister. And when you see his sisters old footage, you see why. That woman can flat out ball.
  22. Bah. you cant say he is more impactful just because his style is different, maybe as far as marketing and what not this is true but not for success of a team. Who would you consider more of an impact for their team? D Howard or Pau Gasol? Obviously the answer is Howard, but yet without Gasol the Lakers would not have won a title last season. And both players are scorers, Walls passing and handling ability is not that great (7 assists 4+ TOs) i think the only real difference is that Henry is a 2-3 rather then Wall who is a 1-2. Personally i think a 2-3 has to be more of a complete player.
  23. Really? I don't think you are considering what actually happened here. First off, you cannot compare bringing a gun to work as the same as being high at work. When youre high your work performance suffers. If you actually use a gun then you have the ability to kill many many many people, huge difference here and not comparable at all. Second, depending on what information is going to come out, Arenas could be looking at some serious prison time for all of this. He may not need to worry about an NBA ban because he will be in prison for the extent of it, yes, it is that serve. In DC the minimum punishment for having an unloaded handgun outside of your house is 5 years, no parole. If they can prove it was loaded at any point outside of the home.... gone...
