  1. Eh. Wall is the overall better point guard, but that is simply just because Henry never plays the one.
  2. +1 People dont realize it but there are plenty of women who would destroy many of the guys in the NBA when it comes to jump shots and 3s.
  3. Fish7718 is correct here. That really is not a hard shot to make, it just seems hard because it looks like something is in your way (when its really not). In reality if you can block out the idea of what you are doing, most players who have a decent jump shot would hit that on a regular basis. When i was younger we would always try trick shots and what not. One thing we would do is play behind the basket and take shots (we didnt have a clear board) and we would still make it probably 50% of the time.
  4. Wow dude... not only did you manage to dig up a dirt old topic that was meant to be done before the season started but you managed to actually get some of your picks wrong. And Rubio a one????? come on... now i know we have not seen him play in the NBA but if he is one third as productive in the American league as he is overseas then he still will not be a bust. Also not too sure about Hill... He seems like if he is given the minutes he will dish out some massive production. A 6 for James Harden, 7 for Evans, 8 for Flynn?? All of these players (and others i did not mention) have been fantastic this season and have proven themselves far from busts.
  5. Henry is a solid defender right now, give him a full year under Bill Self (who wont even let people play if they do not meet defensive standards) and he will be one of the best defending guards in the draft (he is also a pretty good thief). His ball handling ability is also pretty good with only 1.8 turn overs at 16ppg vs Mr. Wall who has 17ppg with over 4 TOs. One thing i am not understanding is how overlooked Henry is now that people watch all the dunking highlights of Wall. Dont get me wrong here, Wall is an amazing talent, but when compared to Henry it really is pretty easy to determine that Henry is the overall better player. One thing Henry relies on more then Wall is his jump shot that he is already very good at (2-3 more years of improvements and he could have an elite status), which when we are talking NBA standards is what makes players deadly. I will actually be surprised to see Henry fall out of the top 5, especially after KU wins their second NT in 3 years.
  6. Absolutely not, he has a gun at the workplace, the only purpose a gun has is to murder someone, this is NOT the same level as Ron Artest punching someone. If you bring a firearm to almost any job in America then you will be fired and never allowed to work for the company again. And this is all for great reasons. Sometimes we tend to forget that the NBA is still a job and career for the people involved, not just a form of entertainment for us and they should be held to the same standards (IMO should be higher in many cases) as the rest of us. I also think that his excuse of not wanting it to be at home because of his child is a pretty bad one. He is a multimillionaire and can afford a secure lock box in his house (since i am sure he bought it for home protection... what good is it doing in his locker?). I am no where near a multimillionaire but was able to afford ($750) a gun lock box that requires a key, password and my own fingerprint that my child will never be able to get into without my knowldge, unless she figures out the code and drugs me to steal my key and cut my finger off. Also id like to point out that DC has some very strict gun laws and Arenas will be lucky if he just gets fired from the Wizards and banned from the NBA.
  7. Personally i would love to see Hinrich go to the Bulls, i think he would be perfect for their system. But this argument over value.. Pros: Two seasons ago Hinrich was at the same level as Tony Parker, he was overlooked and ignored (ironically this is the same time period when the Bulls were beating Miami). He is not a full time leader but he has a very high basketball IQ that can apply and make up for a lack of leadership. He is at best a 17ppg 8ast guy who is not just a sub SG, but actually knows how to play both SG and PG and can be a great defender at both positions... he can even defend the 3 in many cases. He is fairly young and in about 2-3 seasons he will be entering the prime of his career, the perfect mix of knowledge and body strength. He also seems to be able to adapt to almost any system he is given. Cons: He is iffy. If the team is having a bad year, he will have a bad year. If the team is having a great year, he will have a great year. He is not a first leader, he is a secondary leader aka follower. I may have condensed things a bit but that really is a pretty bad con.
  8. Rough topic. I am all for the idea that one should be held accountable by their own actions, but agents are nothing more then a proxy. The issue about the agent bringing this up on his own could be an important one as well that will probably have league changing results. Here is one thing i am wondering... How come there have been dozens of players the past 5 years who have demanded trades yet this is the first time i am hearing about a fine.
  9. This is just our culture now sadly enough. And the bad stuff is not limited to just the NBA. Every sport now you have people with guns, using steroids, having affairs (which i honestly do not think is anyone elses business), ect.
  10. Great article but i honestly do not think the Pacers have a bad team. They have quality players (while every player has flaws that dose not mean they are not good players and cannot be great role players)and the only thing they really seem to be missing is a key leader. Someone who can morally pick this team up before during and after a game.
  11. "Nate plays 38 min and we win in OT, but only plays 22 tonight and we win by 40+...I'm just saying." LMAO "Jeffries doesn't even make shots in warmups. How he stays positive is a mystery to me, but I have a feeling $6 million a year helps." The person who is doing this deserves to be the GM of the Knicks.
  12. Hinrich is too good of a person and player to be in DC.
  13. Yea i am pretty glad we took it to a top 20 team like that. We definitely needed it. Our schedule should have been way better this year but UCLA, Memphis and Cal had to [expletive] it up compared to their previous years.
  14. I think we are going to see Arenas out of DC faster then anyone thought. The Wizards now have reason to terminate his contract and will not owe him a single dime.
  15. I was absolutely astounded to find that this was a serious video. These people should be shot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI6e20i79EU
  16. Call me crazy but i kind of think that Dantoni is the one who sent the message. Obviously Nate was not doing something that Mike felt he should have been doing or needed to change. Maybe he wanted to point out Nates complete lack of leadership.
  17. I think he brings up a great point about Bosh and his lack of leadership. I mean, if you were a GM about to give a guy around 20 million a year, you would expect this guy to not only be a statistical monster but at least a good enough team leader to consistently give you winning seasons.
  18. Wade. LBJ has slightly better stats but if i was in a clutch play-off situation i at least know DWade has been there before and succeeded.
  19. So what has been the excuse every year before now? Still the same situation? No. Defense is a problem sure, but whatever that can be said about pretty much any team in the NBA. Lack of talent has not always been a problem. And i never said it was strictly leadership. I truly believe that the problem is with the front office being ran by retarded apes in wheelchairs, but thats just me. Paytons assessment of Bosh's lack of leadership was correct though. Someone in his position needs to be more of a consistant leader and people who offer max contracts should expect his ability to lead to be on par with the 20 mill they dish out.
  20. KU vs Belmont http://i48.tinypic.com/maa1r4.jpg
  21. I actually agree with Payton to an extent. Im not sure if i would consider Bosh one of the most overrated, but definitely one of the most overrated of that caliber. Someone in his position should be able to lead a team and he has really done everything but that. When the Raptors were successful it was not Bosh's leadership that made it happen, it was TJ Fords. And right now the only thing really holding this team back is a true leader.
  22. Problem is that is about all he can do. Provide a bit of scoring off the bench. It would be better if he was a bit more versatile of a player, or had better size to play multiple positions, or if he was a leader of any kind. Nate is garbage in my book and will never be a part of a winning team.
  23. Thing is though, its not a big game for him at all in any manner. He knows he is better then LBJ, every real basketball fan who can fairly analyze players knows that LBJ is not even close to the level of Kobe, he knows its not a rival game, he knows its not a game that matters, he knows his team is ten times better then Lebrons. I mean, these are comments he made to the press because the press demanded comments from him. He didnt go out and just randomly say these things, which had he done that we would have cause to think it mattered.
