You can make a case for the Takeover being a better song than Ether, but no way was it a better diss, and that's why Nas won the beef. I also personally think H to the OMO was better than Super Ugly.

The Lakers have always been a team that builds its teams proactively through FA and trades. Of course they hit it big with guys like Magic and Kobe (who they traded for) through the draft, but ever since the days of Kareem they've been a team that gets it done by more unconventional means. I personally don't mind how things are nowadays. Most teams still do get the chance to see their players develop into stars, but more than ever it is on the franchise to put talent around their stars to compete. If they don't, it opens the door up for that star to leave for a better situation. I don't see the problem with that, and IMO it makes things a bit more dramatic and interesting.

That part is very important, and shows Karl isn't naive to all the agendas at play for all of Melo's agents and advisors. Should be an interesting development if Karl has that sitdown with Melo, although I doubt it will sway Melo's decision much.

Run Yo Mouth! Finals: Nitro vs. STATcity (VOTE NOW)

Lol ok gay-fish, whatever you say there buddy... -
Again, though, the topic is about who is currently taking over the league. And in the last 4-5 years, specifically the last 2-3 years, there has been a bigger influx of great PG's than there have been PF's.

If memory serves me correctly, he's pretty open about it. I remember clearly him posting in the random topic saying something like, "Kissed a man tonight" with a smiley by it. Not saying there's anything wrong with being gay, but he allowed it to be ammo in my raps by posting it on here, just like I did with me being a junkie and dropout. But playing the whole, "I get [expletive]es like Diddy" card when you don't play for our team...it just made me lol. -

You proved my point...he's not a heterosexual. That's why I pushed the gay thing so hard in my rhymes, so when I heard his repsonse with those lines I lol'd. -
The Dark Night Rises Fan Made Posters
Nitro replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Movies and Television Forum
The Riddler poster, with the newspaper is my favorite of those posters...I'm still pissed Nolan didn't want the Riddler as the next villain. The last Bane poster in the first post would be nice for the upcoming movie. -

I didn't include a poll because I wanted people to post there choice with some kind of reason. And with all due respect to Fish, who posted a nice 16 with solid punchlines, no way he had a better flow than I did Too many words and syllables per line. PS- I lol'd at the lines he fired at me saying he's getting chicks like Diddy, and I'm sending girls away from "our" team...who's our team bruh? I thought you were batting for that other team...just thought that was funny. -
Knicks offer for Melo is turned down by Denver
Nitro replied to NomarFachix's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Yeah, you're right. The Knicks could throw in Turiaf, who is a $4M expiring, and take on either Harrington or Birdman. That would give the Nuggets added capspace, will get rid of one of their bad deals, and they'll get some value in return along with picks. If they shot down that trade and I was Walsh, I'd hold a press conference with a shirt that says, '[expletive] Denver' and just wait for FA to scoop Melo. -
Knicks offer for Melo is turned down by Denver
Nitro replied to NomarFachix's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
If the Knicks throw in Curry's expriring contract, and maybe take on one of Denver's [expletive]ty contracts (like Harrington), I think Denver would pull the trigger. They are looking for cap relief, which was the big holdup on the deal that would have sent Melo to NJ, so Curry's expiring would be enticing. -
The Lakers have looked really sharp tonight, especially offensively. Awesome ball movement, owning the Nuggets around the rim, and Kobe had his patented takeover in the 3rd which let the Lakers start to runaway with the game. Impressive performance.

I think they should try and compete, but for that to happen they need to shuffle up the roster a bit. The Bucks have a lot of good pieces, but the current makeup of the team won't win. So, they should look at some available trade options, and try to get an All-Star caliber player to put alongside Jennings/Bogut; a guy like Iguodala or S-Jax would be a nice fit. Bottom line is that this team has a lot of talent, they just need to use the depth and talent they have to make another move or two to have it all come together.

I'm workin on freestyles and [expletive], so I decided to write something up real quick, just jotting crap down as I think of it with a little refinement. Took about 10min to write...

...in other news, Kevin Love kept his double-double streak alive, stretching it to I believe 29 games.

I agree it is an issue with Chandler, since he will be a FA this summer, but with Gallo it shouldn't be a worry. Of course he won't want to leave a big market team who's playoff bound to a rebuilding team in a smaller market, but he will relish the opportunity to be a #1 guy in Denver. And he won't dog it the next 2 years because he will be looking to earn a fat contract. As far as Houston goes, as I said, if Melo says no to the extension then the most you will get is Brooks or Martin, an expiring contract and maybe a draft pick. Morey wouldn't throw the kitchen sink at the Nuggets for a half-year rental.

Barkley put up 25/12/5 and led the Suns to 5 more wins than the Bulls had that year, with arguably a worse supporting cast than Jordan had. Rose's team is not going to be winning 60+, his numbers aren't better than LeBron's, and his defense isn't on LeBron's level. I seriously don't know, besides the boredom of giving LeBron another MVP, what legit arguement could be made to put Rose over LeBron in the MVP standings. Are you serious...really?!? Nash led a team that won 29 games the season prior to 62 wins, which was the best in the league. His offense led the league in scoring by a full 7PPG. He averaged nearly 12APG and had a ridiculous TS% of 61%. Amare went from a 20PPG scorer on 53% TS% to 26PPG on 62% TS%. His value was astronomical to those teams. Besides...Dirk? That season the MVP race was between Nash and Shaq. Nash most definitely was at worst an equal (IMO better), more valuable player than Dirk that season. 1) Iverson missed 11 games that season. How many times do you see an MVP miss double-digit games? 2) Even though it was one of his better years, Iverson was a VERY low efficiency scorer that season who did nothing else above averagely (besides steals). Shaq was a MONSTER that year, averaging 29/13/4/3 on strong efficiency, and he played in 3 more games than AI did. Duncan was also a much better player than AI, had elite numbers, anchored the best defense in the league, played all 82 games, and his team won the most games in the NBA. If the Bulls get the best, or 2nd best record in the league, then he has a strong case. But without either, I don't see it. Kobe was on crap teams or was the 2nd option during his prime years. Ditto for KG. Duncan got 2 MVP's. Shaq won 1, deserved 2, and had it not been for injuries he could have won more. The mid '00's with Nash/Dirk winning MVP's took a perfect storm to happen. Garnett's team didn't make the playoffs, Kobe's didn't make the playoffs and he was hurt for around 20 games, T-Mac started the season off too slow and his team only won around 50 games, Dirk wasn't better than Nash (IMO), etc... This season is different. The best player in the league is playing on a team that will win 60+ games, and he's putting up the stats to back it up. Paul and Williams, arguably better players than Rose, are leading their teams to a similar record that Rose is with the Bulls. If Durant keeps up the pace he's been playing at the last 2 months, he will be at over 30PPG on insane efficiency and the Thunder will have a similar record to the Bulls. Rose isn't a top 5 player in the league, and by the end of the season the Bulls will have a borderline top 5 record. That doesn't fit the parameters for an MVP.

They've been considered a sleeper team for awhile. But just because they have picks and young players doesn't mean they are giving up Brooks + Martin + picks for a half-year rental. At most you may get one of them. My bet would be cap relief (they have Yao and I believe Battier's expirings), maybe a role player and a pick. The Knicks can offer you Gallo/Fields/Curry's expriring/picks. Since Melo won't sign the extension with Houston, that leaves NY as Denver's best option for return value.
