  1. I wasn't aware that 100% of Cleveland's attendance is occupied by season ticket holders. I also wasn't aware that a renewing of those tickets meant those customers are required to attend the games, including those against bad teams (those same season ticket holders for other 'bad' teams simply don't go to half the games they receive in their season ticket package). He's had a chance to do something since, and has failed to do anything. It's almost like he's refused to rebuild. And he also had a chance to do something in the 7 years LeBron was in town, and the best he could could do was get Mo Williams, and a 34 year old Antawn Jamison for half a season. Meanwhile, in 7 years of Dwight Howard the Magic drafted Jameer, and acquired Hedo, VC, Lewis, J-Rich and Arenas. The Celtics got KG, Allen and drafted Rondo to put around Pierce. The Lakers drafted Bynum, got Gasol, Odom and Artest to put around Kobe. Gotten a different coach? Byron Scott was in line to replace Phil Jackson, and he's been to two Finals and was the coach that helped bring the Hornets back to prominence. He was probably the best head coach available this past off-season. You guys won no titles before LeBron, never had a 60 win season, and never had the pleasure of having an MVP (let alone 2x MVP) on the roster. You guys never had the same kind of national publicity. LeBron gave you all of that. It's a LOT more than about half the league's franchises have experienced in their entire histories. So, for you guys not to be grateful is [expletive]ing PATHETIC, whiny and has little justified reason. You were spoiled by LeBron the time you had him, and when you guys struggle for the next decade to get back on your feet, you'll realize just how lucky you were.
  2. Sad, but not surprising. Meth is a really big thing in the south and mid-west.
  3. From a basketball standpoint, he exercised his right as a FA. We knew for 2 years that there was a possibility LeBron would leave. His douchey behavior in regards to the Decision didn't affect the Cavalier product before or after he left. In fact, it probably made things better for the Cavs because it gave the fanbase something to rally behind, which is why this crappy team is near the top of the league in attendance. After the Decision, the Cavs still haven't done anything. Why should you or I believe anything would have been different had LeBron let them know following their playoff loss to Boston? Obviously Gilbert and co. believed this current team was good enough to maybe make the playoffs without LeBron.
  4. Yes, I know all of that, but realize a few things... 1) Carmelo is also not honoring his contract. Even though LeBron supposedly "quit" in Game 5 of that Boston series, he still led the Cavs to 60+ wins and won an MVP award. He still performed well overall in that Boston series (considerably better than Kobe did in the Finals IMO). He sill earned the team a LOT of money, gave the team excitement and notoriety, and gave them a chance to win. Carmelo is doing none of that, even though he's contractually obligated. 2) LeBron should have never been able to be the team's GM. He should have had input, but if a team is essentially giving him full authority of all decisions, as you are insinuating, then the Cavalier organization is at fault. And you honestly think LeBron shot down that Amare deal last season...really? No. The trade had a strong chance of happening, but the Cavs took Hickson off the table. Decisions like that are why LeBron left. The Cavs had a lot of good players that fit with LeBron, but they never ONCE in 7 seasons got a guy who could consistently make plays without LeBron. That was their downfall. Unfortunately they had that with Boozer, but he ended up with the Jazz (which was [expletive]ed up on his part). 3) He doesn't tell the Cavs he's leaving and doesn't show gratitude for what they did for him...all douche moves, but they don't (shouldn't) outweigh the fact that he brought the team from the gutter to 60+ win seasons, gave the franchise its only Finals appearance, the franchise's only MVP award, etc.. You say I know who started the mess, but if the Cavs did the job Orlando, LA and Boston did to surround their superstars with talent, there would be no mess to begin with.
  5. If the toast at Melo's wedding wasn't investigated as tampering, then this won't even reach the complaint box at Stern's office.
  6. He has ridiculous post-season averages, has hit a number of post-season game-winners, and Howard had more help with the Magic, Kobe had more help with the Lakers, and the Cetics need no explanation. So, it's not hard to see why the reigning 2x MVP, who is currently playing the best basketball in the league, would regain respect.
  7. Did you really expect more than 18/8 on 50%+ shooting from a 3rd option? His rebounding's been a little disappointing, but his defense is much improved (although he got spanked by Aldridge a few days ago). He's also been consistently hitting clutch shots, and when he gets his opportunities he's taking advantage of iso situations.
  8. I saw it a few weeks ago, thought it was very good. My dad absolutely loved it, but I found it annoying that the main character's brother (Bale), girlfriend (Adams), and mother all were all more developed than Mark's charater. Still, all the supporting characters were really amazing.
  9. He has the right to say what he wants. The Decision was awful, but Gilbert's letter mixed with the ungratefulness of the franchise and [most of] the fanbase is equally as bad. You would think that they'd be grateful he brought the franchise excitement, profitability and its most success in franchise history, but they aren't. Instead they viciously attack him AND his family verbally, burn his jersey's, and act ike the last 7 years never happened. So, I have little sympathy for each side.
  10. Haha, 3 straight posters who were/are T-Mac homers. Awesome.
  11. 112-57....WTF?!?! The Cavs shot below 30% from the field, 8% from 3 and 63% from the line....that's unbelievable in a very, very sad way. Damn.
  12. Both Billups and Rip are short-term solutions. Billups is on his last legs, and he supposedly wants to retire as a Nugget. The only way he stays with the Nets, from what reports say, is if they extend his contract, which would be stupid. Hamilton will turn 33 this season, has a terrible contract and can't even crack the starting lineup of one of the worst teams in the league. That's how
  13. By default, I'm a Nets fan at heart because I was born and raised in NJ, and have been to probably over 100 Nets games in my lifetime. I've been to games when they were awful in the '90's, been to playoff games when they were great in the early-mid '00's, and now go to games when they play teams like the Heat and Lakers. I'll always have a soft spot for them. But, in reality, I'm a homer of individual players. In the last 2 years of his tenure with the Magic, and all of his time with the Rockets, I would watch almost every single game McGrady would play. When that happens, I kind of grow an attatchment to the entire team. In the last few years (since the 2006 Finals), I've been that way with D-Wade, and now that the new Big 3 has formed, I feel compelled to watch every single Heat game I can. Because of this, I've grown fascinated with the team, and root for them because I want the best for Wade. In the 2 games which Wade didn't play this year, I either didn't watch the game or found it a little hard to enjoy watching the team.
  14. Honestly, at this point I'd rather just see him in a Knicks uniform as opposed to a Nets uni. I love the Nets organization, and I'd be ecstatic if he came to NJ, but I'm really starting to get worried about what the team will look like after the deal with the trade scenarious that are being thrown around. Besides, Melo just seems like a Knicks-kinda guy, and even though I love the Nets, I hate this current group of players while I love the Knicks' roster. I'd like to see NY as a championship contender and renewing their rivalry with the Heat. For the Nets, I'd like to see them somehow get CP3 via FA in 2012 (and maybe Dwight?...I can dream).
  15. Amare's having trouble with Camby's length and agility. He needs to be doing more work from the PnR as opposed to simply isolating.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJZvyvG-k_k One of my favorite Jada tracks. Nate Dogg has the voice of God.
  17. Eh...I respect his contributions to the rap game, but I never liked his music much personally. Also, whenever I think of LL, I think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhYklzKQpfs
  18. Spo wants him to get practice time, which he's been doing. He obviously wasn't in game-shape the few times he's appeared this season, and there'd be no point in sacrificing their current chemistry in actual games. Therefor, it's better for him to build that chemistry with the team in practice, get him in game-shape, and when he is ready he can be slowly worked into the lineup.
  19. You are right, but Butler's primary function with the Mavs is being an isolation scorer, which IMO he does better than Iggy. He also was shooting over 40% from 3 this season, which is something I don't think Iggy could manage. Iggy does not score as well as Butler does in isolation; he's more of an all-around playmaker (for himself and teammates), but with Kidd already on the roster, how much would that help the team?
  20. Before I say anything, let it be known I am relatively ignorant to the Bible... With that said, I think the line, "“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day,” means that God is with you every single day; that one day or a thousand, He will always be with you. As for the other stuff, I personally don't take it literally. The Bible and its stories are a metaphor for principles of living, created by humans just like you and me. I don't take any possible predictions seriously.
  21. SOURCE It's SLAM, so take it for what it's worth.

  23. Ha. it's better than I could do on my own willpower. Since I started smoking 3 years ago the longest I've been able to go is about a day.
  24. Touche. Your family, friends and Tom Brady all hate you.
