Someone is still bitter because Artest left the Rockets for the Lakers and the Rockets got Ariza. Artest was a horrible signing? Did you even watch the playoffs? Artest made Durant a volume shooter for the whole series and Paul Pierce went from being the Finals MVP to being a role player against Ron. Ron shut him down for most of the series except for the game where Pierce went off. Artest didn't make the game winning shot in the playoffs and he also didn't make a cluch 3 with one minute to go in game 7 to put the Lakers up by 6.

How can he be past his prime when he played his best basketball of his career last season before the injuries? You guys forgot he was the favorite to win the MVP before the injuries and played extremely well in the first half of the season?

A lot of you guys are so quick to say this is a horrible move by RJ because he gave up $15M, but he has a chance to make more money in the future with a longer contract. RJ opted out because he wants a longer contract and he wants security for his family. What happens if he gets injured next season and has season ending surgery in his contract year? Do you think a team is going to give him a long term contract, if he's coming off a season ending surgery? He can get a multi year deal starting at $7-9M starting next season and get job security. This will probably be his last big contract in his career. He would be trade bait next season with a $15M expiring contract for a team who is looking to trade one of their players for an expiring contract. Pierce and Dirk are doing something similar by opting out of their deals for a long term contract.

Hedo has a better chance of going to the Queens for Dalembert. Teams should stay away from him because he has a horrible contract and a trade kicker.
