  2. Clippers, Olshey Agree to Part Ways The Los Angeles Clippers and Neil Olshey have mutually agreed to end discussions concerning Olshey's future with the team. An agreement in principle, reached and announced on June 1, will not be completed and the two parties have agreed to part ways. "Circumstances have obviously undergone some movement since our announcement Friday. In light of that, we want to wish Neil well and acknowledge his contributions during the time he spent with the Clippers," said Clippers' President Andy Roeser. A search for a replacement is already underway, headed up by Roeser. In the interim, all responsibilities pertaining to the team's basketball operations will be absorbed by Roeser, Head Coach Vinny Del Negro, and Clippers' Director of Player Personnel Gary Sacks. Roeser, one of the longest-tenured executives in the National Basketball Association, recently completed his 28th season with the Clippers. http://www.nba.com/clippers/news/clippers-olshey-agree-to-part-ways-120604.html <_<

  5. WASHINGTON (AP) -- An 18-31 record usually isn't enough to for an NBA coach keep a job. For Randy Wittman, six of those wins came at the right time. The Washington Wizards announced Monday that Wittman will return as their coach next season, retaining the position he accepted after Flip Saunders was fired in January. Wittman, who had been Saunders' lead assistant since 2009, didn't make much of an impact on the won-loss record until late in the season. The Wizards finished 20-46 - second-worst in the NBA - but they finished on an upswing, winning their last six and eight of their last 10. Wittman also appeared to connect better with Washington's young roster than did Saunders, who was originally hired to lead a veteran-laded team when he came to Washington three years ago. Former No. 1 overall pick John Wall was among the players who publicly said they wanted Wittman to return. The announcement, therefore, came as no surprise. There had been no recent indications the Wizards were shopping for a new coach, and Wittman was already under contract for another season. Source
  6. If he plays, I don't see Boston having a chance of taking this game.. and the series.
  7. He's going to Atletico (Minas Gerais).
  8. I'd keep him. Not a big fan of trading young promising athletes for 'quality veterans'. Just my .02

  12. Drogba scores as Ivory Coast beat Tanzania 2-0 http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/01/13/article-2086496-0F735B7D00000578-133_468x315.jpg Didier Drogba was again among the goals as the Ivory Coast led a list of former finalists in a winning start to World Cup qualification but new African champions Zambia lost their opening game on the road to Brazil. There was also a setback for Morocco, whose coach Eric Gerets' job is now under severe threat after a 1-1 draw away at lowly-ranked Gambia. Drogba and his former Chelsea teammate Salomon Kalou scored for the Ivory Coast as they beat Tanzania 2-0 at home less than a week after changing their coach. It was the first game for the pair since the Champions League final against Bayern Munich on May 19 and a winning debut for new Ivorian coach Sabir Lamouchi, whose surprise appointment on Monday had been widely criticised. Algeria, Cameroon, Senegal and Tunisia also triumphed on Saturday as 11 matches were played at the start of the group phase. It followed two matches on Friday and there will be seven more on Sunday.
