  1. Do not add a old washed up player that will be a waste of our time, sign a young guy out of the D league and at least have a shot at getting lucky and getting someone who ends up being pretty good. Sundiata Gaines and Blake Ahearn would be the options I would consider.

  3. Ironic you posted this right before the report breaks that he is now out for 8 weeks...
  4. No thank you. Sign Sundiata Gaines or Blake Ahearn to a 10 day contract from the D-league and see if they can impress to fill in for Jrue when Jrue starts. This will give Jrue more time to develop so we can be ready to go next season. This year is already chalked up in my book.
  5. Carney and Brand both impressed a lot. Good to see Brand finally step up, and Carney should be the first guy off the bench while Speights is injured.
  6. How bad must the guitarist's head hurt after shaking his head around like that?
  7. Definitely...the fingers were tough.
  8. http://i33.tinypic.com/2zxunpt.jpg Very simple, but I like it.
  9. I think his seat is getting a little hot but it is still too early in the season to tell honestly. We have some individual talent just have not meshed as a team yet, and that is a direct reflection on the coach. I will be calling for Jordan's firing before I call for Ed's.
  10. The attendence has been pathetic, but honestly the Sixers are probably the fourth most popular team in Philly, behind the Eagles, suddenly the Phillies since they have started being successful, and the Flyers has always had a large following. Now that the Phillies is over I think attendence may begin to pick up, but they are just not a team drawing much excitement.
  11. I have a friend that went there and swam there and liked it. Not sure if it is public or private though. I could ask him some questions about it though if you have any.
  12. Sixers lost tonight to the red hot Phoenix Suns in a shootout 119-115. Reasons for the L: 1. The Three Point Line Suns shot 15 of 30 from threes, while the Sixers shot 5 of 13. Our three point shooting is not very good and our perimeter defense is even worse. No excuse for leaving good shooters wide open on the perimeter. The Sixers outrebounded the Suns 39-33, 10-6 on offensive rebounds. Much better on the glass tonight. We even shot at a higher percentage overall than the Suns. We were up 17 at one point, no excuse to lose this game. I don't know what is wrong with the Sixers, but changes need to be made. When our bench came in the game we actually managed to hang around instead of falling behind like we usually do. Holiday finally got some minutes - scored 8 points in 15 minutes with 3 boards and 2 assists and great defense. Hopefully there is more of that to come. Speights had another good game against the Suns, 20 points and 8 boards. Iguodala - 24 points, 9 boards Lou Will - 13 points Thad - 15 points Brand - 10 points, and only two boards...
  13. No teams are going to be interested in him. His salary is one of the worst in the league and he also has some extra money thing that makes him almost impossible to trade. Sad thing is, we need him here in Philadelphia because even though he sucks and his offense is terrible our defense is drastically better with him on the floor.
  14. Pathetic loss by the Sixers today as we lost to a depleted Pistons team 88-81. We are now down to 3-3 on the season, and the team looks a mess. Elton Brand played a horrible game today, but it is not completely his fault. Our three point shooting is terrible, our defensive rebounding is terrible. I think the Sixers game up something around 20+ offensive boards.
  15. Center - Wilt Chamberlain - The "Chairman of the Boards" has to be considered one of the most dominating players in NBA history. The Hall of Fame center holds numerous NBA records; including scoring 100 points in a single game and being the career leader in rebounds. Chamberlain's dominance led to rule changes such as widening the lane and changes in inbounding rules. His only weakness was free throw shooting, where he currently holds the second worst career free throw percentage of all time. He was a 13 time All Star and a four time MVP. Forward - Charles Barkley - "The Round Mound of Rebound" is one of the best power forwards the Association has ever seen. He was an 11 time All Star selection and won the MVP award once. In Barkley's final season with the Sixers', he averaged 23.1 points per game on 55% shooting and 11.1 rebounds per game. He career points average is 22.1 and he stands as one of the most efficient scorers in NBA history, with an unheard of 54.13% career shooting percentage. Standing at 6'6", Barkley was the shortest player in history to lead the NBA in rebounds in a season when he averaged 14.6 rebounds per game in 1986-1987. Forward- Julius Erving- Dr. J is without a doubt one of the greatest players in NBA history. Despite having a poor supporting cast until Moses Malone came to town, Erving still led the 76ers to multiple NBA Finals. He was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 1981, and led the team to the NBA Championship in the 1982-1983 season alongside Malone. He averaged 22.0 points per game for his career. Guard - Hal Greer - Greer started out for the Syracuse Nationals before they moved to Philadelphia to become the 76ers. He was selected to 10 consecutive All Star games from 1961-1970. He won a championship alongside Wilt Chamberlain in 1966-1967. He average 19.7 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. He retired with over 20,000 points and 5,000 rebounds. In a game against the rival Boston Celtics, Greer scored 50 points. Guard - Maurice Cheeks - The former 76ers' head coach before he was recently fired, Cheeks was also a great point guard for the Sixers in the 11 seasons he played in Philadelphia. He ranks third all time in steals and eight all time in assists. He averaged 11.7 points per game in his career and two steals a game. He was a four time NBA All Star and four time NBA All Defensive team selection. He was the point guard one the 1983 NBA Championship team. Honorable Mentions: Billy Cunningham, Allen Iverson, and Moses Malone Would like to put Iverson but I like Greer better with the rest of this lineup.
  16. http://www.depressedfan.com/assets_c/2009/11/game5rotations110609-thumb-500x258-11242.jpg Thanks to www.depressedfan.com for the graphic This is from the Nets game. Red - I just don't understand why Elton Brand was benched for almost the entire second half. He was not playing particularly poorly, and it was not his fault that the starters went -9 to start the third quarter. Green - Putting Dalembert in for Speights was the key substitution that saved the game for us. I just don't understand why it took so long for Jordan to do it. The defense is dramatically better with Dalembert in the game and the defense is what played well down the stretch to get us the win. Eddie Jordan has done some puzzling rotations in my opinion so far. Also, Jrue Holiday gets yet another DNPCD in this one.
  17. The Sixers played terrible tonight. The Nets are so banged up and the Sixers let them hang around with them the entire team and frankly are lucky to get the win. Only person who I am really happy with their play was Lou Williams who put together yet another nice showing. Did not really understand what Jordan was trying to accomplish with the rotations tonight, and why Elton Brand barely got any time on the court.
  18. I doubt he will start this year. Brand has actually not looked that bad, especially against the Nets even though EJ inexplicably benched him for almost the entire second half. He is definitely not one of the Sixers' main problems. Dalembert has not looked horrible this season, and we cannot put him on the bench because even though I hate to say it our defense is so much better when is the floor. I still like Speights coming off the bench for now.
  19. One of the few positives for the Sixers this season so far is how well Lou Williams has played. Everyone was really worried coming into the season about how Lou Will would handle the starting PG position when we got rid of Andre Miller. Well, I know it is a small sample size, but so far Lou Will has outplayed Miller. 17.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 5.2 apg, 1.6 spg Shooting 52.6% from the field, 33.3% from three point land, and 84% from the line 6.5:1 Assist/Turnover ratio Hollinger Stats: .632 TS% (3 out of 9) Assist ratio: 26.5 (5 out of 9) Turnover ratio: 4.1 (1 out of 9) PER: 24.19 (2 out of 9) *Numbers in parentheses indicate where he ranks compared to Paul, Nash, Rondo, Parker, Westbrook, D. Williams, Arenas, and Billups.
  20. I think he will turn around, since it is too early in the season to make any lasting judgements. It is just disappointing to see him struggle so much when last year he was our second best player and this year he is like our ninth so far he has been that bad. Especially since Lou Williams has played so well we could end up being a really good team if Young can just get on board.
  21. What's going on with him so far? He has looked horrible so far this season, has not been able to score, pass, play defense, everything really is going wrong for him. Did we all overrate him coming into this season after he looked really promising and showed a lot of improvement last year? Is he just not right for EJ's system or are we using him wrong?
