  1. He also resigned after last season. I expect this to last about 3 weeks. Although, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go to the Broncos, so he can go pick up his 'golden boy' Tim Teblow.
  2. Considering the Ravens got 3102 yards and 20 TDs out of their QBs and only 9 rushing touchdowns, I'm not sure that that argument is really relevant. Same deal with the Bucs. 3665 passing yards, 23 passing TDs, while they ran for about 1600 yards on only 3.8 yards a tote, and only scored 6 times. Maybe the stats don't say everything, but it sure looks to me that the quarterbacks carried their teams. As for the QB vs. pitcher question, I believe that, looking at the season as a whole, the QB's impact is larger. A poor season by your QB, and your season is down the toilet unless you have a great ground game, a terrific defense, and a willingness to throw anyway despite the poor performance by your QB, so as not to become one dimensional. A poor season by 1 pitcher wouldn't be felt as much for a baseball team since they usually carry 12 or 13 pitchers. While the team CAN bench their quarterback, that means that their offense has to change to fit their new QB, as you can't just tread new guys in there without adjustments, like you can in baseball.
  3. I prefer to use the term nonconformist.
  4. Yeah, it's tough to have maintained success as an NFL QB without stability in the coaching staff. That being said, a bust is a bust, and I'd say Smith fits that bill.
  5. Well, being from Jersey, I haven't had an opportunity to watch really any Bucs games. However, I do know that Freeman leads the offense on a ton of game winning drives and doesn't do much other than that. I'd rather have that than a QB who looks lost out on the field half the time. I just think that Freeman is better conditioned for Jersey. Born and raised in Kansas, played for Kansas State. Much better conditioning than a kid who was born and raised in Cali and played college ball there too. Sanchez has shown some signs of good play this year, but he's still way off, and that's not exactly what you hope for when you trade a second round pick and a package of players to move up and select a guy. However, I do think that Sanchez's hot start can't be attributed to anything more than luck. In the first 5 or 6 games, he should have had 6 or 7 INTs. I'm not even talking those 1 or 2 throws a game that just gets away from the QB and is near the defender. I'm talking thrown right to the defender and then just completely dropped.
  6. Hi, I'm The Crew. Nice to meet you. I hate that a lot of the bandwagoners have been jumping on the Jets though. Bandwagoners are the reason I'm no longer a Yankee fan, and I'd hate for the Jets fan base to get so bad that most automatically assume that I'm an ignorant fan. Oh wait...
  7. I've been adamant for a long time that the Jets should have drafted Josh Freeman. The moment I heard that the Jets traded up in that draft, I literally facepalmed. I've never wavered in my thought; Josh Freeman would have been the better selection. Period. I believed it when Freeman played horribly last season, I believed it when Sanchez started hot this season, and I believe it now.
  8. The team wasn't sold on Orton for whatever reason (they made it obvious in their offseason moves) and I believe the deal for Quinn was pre draft.
  9. The bottom line is, the Jets were exposed in their close wins but didn't do anything to adjust and fix it, or at least it hasn't looked like it, because they keep winning. Then they keep giving off their hot air to the media and go out there and play horribly. Winning is winning, but when you're consistently exposed for the same thing and never make adjustments because you're winning anyway, there is no way in hell you deserve to be in the playoffs.
  10. I hope the Jets lose out and don't make the playoffs. Between barely beating crappy teams week after week, to getting exposed against a good team, they don't deserve to make the playoffs. They're playing like a 1-10 team right now. They were nothing more than talk and hot air. It's been disgusting to watch for a couple of weeks now and is getting worse and worse.
  11. This seems like a game of Madden 07 where the user is playing as the Patriots against the CPU Jets and the player set all of the computer sliders to 0 and all of the user sliders to 100. Just pitiful for the Jets.
  12. Finally the defense did something. Now the Jets need a touchdown. A field goal won't suffice anymore.
  13. When the hell are the Jets going to learn that they can run on 3rd and short? I would have definitely gone for it on that 4th down.
  14. I meant that I wouldn't have used the challenge there in that exact situation (only 1 challenge left, 1st wasted on something stupid).
  15. Damn, tough call. I wouldn't have challenged it either, but I was a little surprised that it was ruled a touchdown.
  16. I don't agree with the interference call. I just think he and Revis got tied up with each other.
  17. Hindsight being 20/20, it's easy to say that the cut was a really bad move. I did feel bad for him when I saw him get cut though, I knew his name from the day he signed with the Jets and sort of kept up with him.
  18. But with the 4-2 record since the 0-6 start, I think that the only chance he gets fired is if the niners lose out.
  19. Braylon. At least Folk was able to shake off the earlier miss. Now it's time for some defense.
  20. I like what the Jets are doing on this drive. They just need to keep sustaining drives and chipping away at the deficit, and not let it grow, and they should be fine going into halftime down 17-6 or 17-10 or something along those lines.
  21. The Pats' defense is talented, but inexperienced, so if Sanchez steps it up, the Jets still have a chance. It's looking very blique, but there is some hope left.
