  1. Yeah well only until jelipford signs. If he does...And I hope that he will join us soon especially for that. Anyhow welcome to OTR Mike, nice intro indeed lol. I was a fan of the Barkley Suns as well, always wanted them to go back to the Finals after they lost in 93... I was hoping to watch a Suns-Knicks in 94 in fact (with a Knicks win obviously ), and not only it didn't happen but the Knicks lost... Too bad.
  2. Sorry to hear that haha, well I guess we can't get along with everybody... Though I don't have anything against the Nets or Spain (used to go to Spain at least once a year when I was younger) personally. Well anyhow thanks for the welcome man.
  3. Haha I see nice. How d'you know you're right though ? You saw his pic ? And for the record I had long hair ten years ago and I don't believe that my personality has changed since lol.

Blasphemy, brunettes are by far better !! Hang your head in shame. :D

  4. Mmh... not really lol. Personally I can't tell how long someone hair from his post but congrats to you if you can. :D

Oh yes, yes I definitely can blame you for that. Cause I prefer brunettes. :D

  5. Yes... and no. Well I've always liked Jamal Crawford, even in his Bulls days, I've always loved that player, so I kinda miss him in a way but no more than that... I mean Jamal was way too inconsistent with us. One day he could score 44 and the other day 0 point... He's never been starting material. That's why I was sure that he would have an immediate impact on the Hawks when he arrived in Atlanta, Jamal's made to be a sixth man. Just like the Jet, a pure 6th man. So he's definitely better in his new role with Atlanta and I'm happy for him. Besides the Jamal Crawford years were the worst years that we have, so I don't really miss that time... I prefer the team that we have now and by far. We definitely have a strong chance to make the playoffs this year and that's the only thing I think about. No in fact the only players I truly miss are Ewing, Starks, Oak, Mase, X Man, Harper, etc... And the huge D that we had in the 90's, when we were succesful. I don't think that I'll ever like a team more than that one... But anyway it's the past, let's hope that we'll be at least as succesful in the 2010's as we were in the 90's, we gotta get back in business now.
  6. Mmh... not really... Well yes sometimes I don't understand the crowd in the Madison. I mean when we win we have one of the best crowd of the league, our fans are unbelievable. But when we lose... The fans don't hesitate to boo our own players. I especially hated that in the 90's, I hated when they hated on Ewing.. I can't understand that. Ewing did so much for us, he always played at 100%, always gave all he got, he was the first one to be disappointed when we lost. So I don't see how treating him like [expletive] could help in anyway... Ewing said many times that he didn't understand that, and I'm with him 100%. Besides I remember that Reggie Miller was free agent in the mid 90's (95 or 96 I think...) and New York wanted to sign him. Reggie hesitated for a while but he eventually decided to stay in Indiana. And one of the reasons why was the Knicks crowd. He said the same thing I said in this post, that when the team wins, it's just amazing to be a Knicks, but when the team loses... But other than that I have no problem with my teams' fan base.
  7. Yeah as most people said I think that the most important factor is the crowd as well. Although as ABL mentioned familiarity with the court is very important, almost as important as the crowd in fact. I used to know someone who, even if he wasn't a pro, was a high level basketball player and he told me once that the familiarity with the court was an important factor when you play at a higher level. Besides when Jordan came back in 95 it took him some time to adapt to the United Center, which wasn't clearly as comfortable as the Chicago Stadium for him... Not only he wasn't familiar with it but the rings were too rigid. I even remember that he asked to remove them as replace them with the Chicago Stadium once lol... But to be honest I got the feeling that people tend to overrate homecourt advantage sometimes at the same time. It is true that in the playoffs series the team that has the homecourt advantage wins most of the time but we have to consider that the team that has this advantage had to earn it during the regular season by having a better record than the other team. And that it is so usually a better team. Therefore it is in fact pretty logical that this team wins most of the time, homecourt or not... Besides I remember the 1995 Spurs vs Rockets (either the WCF or the second round, ain't sure...), as a matter of fact in this series the away team won every game. Until game 6 when the Rockets won at home and won the series. So it shows that it's not that important... So in short I agree that homecourt is important, that it is an advantage indeed, but not a big one, it is important, but not THAT important IMO.
  8. LOL you can tell how long one's hair is from his post ?! Dam you're good lol. :D

Oops yep you're right dam lol, well I was saying that it seems that you're obsessed with blondes lol.

  9. Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Larry "Legend" Bird Yeah I agree with most people here I do not see how a case can be made against this legendary rivalry... Well yes a case could eventually be made for Wilt vs Russell though, as Basx said. They are definitely a close second IMO. In fact the Wilt vs Russell and Magic vs Bird rivalries are the only ones who dominated an entire decade. As a matter of fact Fulks dominated the late 40's, Mikan the 50's, Alcindor (AKA Jabbar) the 70's and Jordan the 90's. Only the 60's and 80's were dominated by a rivalry, Wilt vs Bill in the 60's and Magic vs Bird in the 80's so. And that is why the greatest rivalry can only be one of those two. I put Magic vs Bird over Wilt vs Bill though, this because first well the 60's were just another era. I mean it was still the beginning of basketball and the league was quite different then, there were only way less teams (8 in 1960, 14 in 1969) and it was easier to dominate then. Second because the decade was clearly dominated by Russell, or rather Russell's team, the Celtics. When you think of the 60's you first think of the Celtics and the 9 rings they won in that decade (plus 2 in the late 50's). Due to the domination of Russell's team it is hard to really consider it as a true rivalry. On top of that it is important to take in consideration the fact that the NBA started to really become huge in the 80's thanks to the arrival of both Stern and Jordan and of course of the Celtics' Bird and Johnson's Lakers rivalry. I would even say that our era's basketball truly started in the late 70's/80's with the arrival of Bird and Magic. And contrary to the Wilt vs Russell's rivalry we cannot say that, even if the Lakers won two more rings than the Celtics, neither team dominated the other. A true rivalry indeed. So for all these reasons Magic vs Bird is definitely the obvious choice here IMO.
  10. Well... both actually lol. I do the same thing as he does, I let my hair grow then I shave my head. Well not entirely though, my hair are short but I ain't bold... Just like Dirk in fact he ain't bald.

And I don't let my hair grow as much as he does though, I let them grow for around 2 months. I used to have long hair ten years ago.

Lol nice seems that you're obs...

  11. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/18530-eric-gordon-posterizes-the-spurs-twice/ Anyhow nice to see that you listened to me and joined us here CJ. Now I'll be able to keep laughing at you every time the Spurs lose... and I got the feeling that I'm gonna laugh a lot this year. :glasses:
  12. Yes yesterday Eric Gordon did this : and, even better, this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nnN8aIryzE Holy [expletive], that was unbelievable, take that the Spurs !! Honestly when I heard that Gordon would be in the Dunk Contest last year I was kinda surprised at first... But I certainly ain't any more lol.
  13. Yeah that was HUGE dunk. Can't get tired of watching it over and over again... Was very disappointed last year when Griffin was out for the season, I'm a huge fan of this player and I hope that he's gonna go far. This Clippers team is very exciting this year, definitely among my five favorite Western teams (Mavs, Thunder, Blazers, Lakers and Clippers) and I hope they're gonna make the playoffs, they certainly can.
  14. Larry Bird I agree that a case could be made for Miller, and he would probably get my vote if it was greatest 3 pts shooter, but for me there is no doubt that Bird is the best shooter ever. Larry is one of the only players to ever shoot at at least 50 % FG, 40 % 3 pts, and 90 % FT, in one season (I think that only him, Nash and Price did it). And contrary to Nash and Price, Bird also did it in the playoffs which is even more fantastic. Well it's true that Price did it in the 88 playoffs though, but he only played 5 games... While the year Bird did it, in 86, he played 18 games and led the Celtics to the ring. Also Bird's FG% in career was almost 50, 49.6% to be precised while Miller's was 47.1% and Ray's 45%. This despite the fact that Bird averaged more FGA in career. Now it's true that Ray and Reggie shot more from behind the three point line, but Larry shot more from mid range. Honestly Bird's jump shot is the purest of the history of the game. He just had the perfect jump shot. Not only that but he's definitely the most clutch shooter ever, and a case can even been made for him as the most clutch player ever IMO. Magic Johnson said it many times "there is no one that I fear more than Larry Bird in the money time" (don't remember if it's his exact words lol, but that's what he said). For me it's arguable between Bird and Jordan, no player was more clutch than these two. So for all these reasons, despite the fact that there have been a lot of great shooters (Miller, Allen, West, Price, Rice (one of the prettiest jump shots ever), Barry (Rick), Nash, Nowitzki, etc...) I definitely think that Bird is the greatest shooter of All Time.
  15. Ooops my last VM was too long lol, well I was saying that dN even thought that Dirk and I were twins lol.

  16. Lol I know you ain't a gal don't worry, it's just that every time I see your username I think of a girl. A blonde girl as the avatar you wore the most was the one of a blonde lol.

Now that I got a Stat username I figure that people will think that I look like him lol. I should wear a Dirk avatar, cause I kinda look like him, I posted a pic of me on CTS and dN thinks that Dirk a...

  17. Lol nice. And yeah it's true that sigs and avatars have an impact on how you picture someone you never seen... I often pictured you as a girl for exemple lol as you used to have a lot of girls avatars.

  18. Dam we can't VM pics I didn't know that lol, well it's the same pic I posted in that thread anyhow : http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/18497-alcohol-and-cigars/

  19. So you think that I look like that lol :

    http://sharetv.org/images/guide/585188.jpg

  20. Yes, I admit it this is me : http://sharetv.org/images/guide/585188.jpg Lol I take it as a compliment anyhow as I'm a huge fan of Two and a Half Men haha. By the way I kinda agree with you illwill, all vodkas taste kinda the same for me too... Never been a huge fan of vodka anyhow (yet White Russian is my favorite cocktail as I said, White Russian is vodka, kahlua and milk by the way..). At the exception of Stolichnaya, clearly above all the other vodkas IMO.
  21. Oh I see that's cool.

Well I listened to one song on youtube and it seemed a bit familiar after all... I probably have heard one of their songs once or twice. But it ain't my kinda music to be honest.

I usually ain't a fan of French bands anyhow. Except for "Les Thugs".

  22. Haha nice I'm a huge fan of Goodman and Turturro as well (Goodman is even in my top 5 favorite actors), and a Big Lebowski fan too of course, The Big Lebowski is in my top 20 movies for sure. And the Coen Brothers are definitely my favorite directors. Anyway you defintely have to watch this movie man. Outstanding, just outstanding... As for what it's about, well, it's about a New York playwright who is enjoying the success of his first broadway play and is hired by a movie studio in Hollywood to write scripts for movies which have nothing to do with what he writes about, which is why he hesitates at first... but the movie studio offers him a lot of money and he finally accepts. But in Hollywood things are not going to happen as expected... Well I don't want to tell you much about the movie, don't wanna spoil it, I personally don't like to know anything about a movie when I watch one, not even the name of the characters lol. But all I can say is that it's really, really amazing. I'm sure that you will love it, especially that you love Goodman and Turturro, and apparently like the Coen Brothers as well, I have no doubt that you're gonna enjoy this one. Besides it's even the favorite Coen movie of most people I know. And for me it's without a doubt both Goodman and Turturro's best performances. Especially Goodman, he's really amazing, especially in the final scene. The first time I watched this movie I realized how great Goodman really was... No it's definitely a must see.
  23. Thanks man, appreciate the welcome. Thanks man, nice to see you here.
  24. Raymonde Howard ? Nope never heard of it man. What kind of music is it ?

  25. Just curious to know what are the leagues you're a fan of, how big of a fan are you, and what are your favorite teams for each sport. Basketball Huge fan. Especially the NBA. To be honest it's the only league I'm really interested in right now. I've been watching all the games I can for quite some time now and I just can't get tired of it. Basketball is my sport. And the only team I root for is the New York Knicks. So as I said it's the only sport I'm really a fan of, but I watch some other sports some time, particularly those ones : Football I'm becoming more and more a fan of the NFL. I never miss the Superbowl. And watch some other games sometimes but it's hard to follow this sport in France, they don't broadcast a lot of games. My fav team is the New York Giants. Tennis It used to be my favorite sport when I was younger. But to be honest I hardly watch any games now. I'm not a big fan of any players any more, I prefered the 90's tennis and by far. Andre Agassi, Thomas Muster and Henri Leconte were my favorite players at the time. Soccer I used to be a fan of it too, but now I only watch the World Cup. And not every game too... I always root for Germany and the USA. That's about it. I used to watch boxing as well but not any more, this since Tyson lost against Danny Williams et Kevin McBride. I'd like to watch baseball games, I never did as they don't broadcast them at all in France. Seems like a nice sport. But anyway there's one thing for sure, basketball will always be my sport.
