  1. I don't see why the Sixers would even consider this.
  2. That first inning for the Phillies is basically this season in a nutshell. And it even included an injury. Couldn't have scripted it any better.
  3. Depends on where he is going. Obviously he isn't going to just say "okay I am waiving it, trade me where ever". That sort of negates it's purpose. And that is what he reportedly said to the French newspaper. Word is that he agreed to waive it to go to the Kings though.
  4. I think I am going to cry.... A full season of Cliff Lee gets the Phillies Phillippe Aumont, Tyson Gillies, and JC Ramirez. Less than a half season of Cliff Lee gets the Mariners Justin Smoak, Blake Beavan, and whatever else.
  5. Chipper Jones? Scratched from the lineup due to an injury? You don't say...
  6. Reportedly 1 year $2 million. If that's true, I'm down. When this was first rumored, I said I'd only be on board if Zherdev was significantly less money than Gagne, which it appears he will be.
  7. It is getting to be that time again. Maybe we can keep everything organized into this thread. Sticky perhaps? To get things started, it appears that Cliff Lee is going to the Rangers.
  8. http://www.tauntr.com/content/phillies-assassin-liscence-tase Omg....LOL.
  9. I really don't see the Mariners getting a better offer. This offer (if true) is basically everything they need. The Yankees and Twins (and maybe Rangers) seemed like the only legitimate possibilities, due to strong catching prospects. This has nothing to do with the Yankees having "money" or whatever.
  10. So, a half-season of Lee is going to grab the Mariners Jesus Montero ++. For a full season of Lee, all Ruben Amaro was able to pick up were 3 guys who will probably never play for the Phillies. But oh wait, he was able to "replenish the farm" so it's all good. Good god.
  11. Brian Schneider hits a walk-off homerun, Nelson Figueroa gets the win, Wilson Valdez hits a huge triple in the 8th inning. See a theme, Fish?
  12. Love it. That is all kinds of awesome. The Cavaliers are now my 2nd favorite team (well, maybe).
  13. The Phillies are 2-0 on this homestand in games I have not attended....
  14. Hey Phillippe Aumont had 13 strikeouts in 6 innings tonight. Maybe the Lee trade wasn't so bad afterall....
  15. How long until all the "lifelong Miami Heat" fans emerge?

LOL...what do you mean, I've always known you were a Heat fan

  16. Tom McCarthy. Tell the Mets to take him back....please.
  17. Poor Johnny Cueto. Got nailed in the balls.
  18. That might wind up being the best option. Can't risk [expletive]ing a Werth trade up as badly as it appears Ruben [expletive]ed up the Lee trade.
  19. Well, they wouldn't get nothing if he left in free agency. They'd get (in all likelihood) a low first round pick, and a "sandwich" round pick. But if they put him up for trade, he is easily the most coveted hitter come deadline time. Not to mention, it clears the way for Domonic Brown to finally get to the Majors (.332/.398/.622 in AA and AAA so far this season. The other guys who are hardcore into baseball can verify...he is ready). I dunno, even if they get swept this weekend they will still be relatively close to the wild card and probably even the division, so I don't know if Amaro will throw in the towel and look to trade Werth. We'll see.
  20. Original. But in response to this thread, he goes down as the biggest piece of [expletive] in professional sports history, if he puts on this whole charade with ESPN tomorrow night, putting Cavaliers fans through torture, only to say he is leaving. And he has the nerve to play it off as "for charity". Give me a break. Unbelievably low.
  21. I guess all he needed was 3 games against the Phillies. On a Phillies note...time to consider trading Jayson Werth, especially if they get buried even further this weekend.
  22. Because he OPS'd 600 points higher against the Phillies last year than his season total (and in 50 plate appearances, not a small sample size). Up to his old tricks again this week too.
