Took you this long to realize that?

Phillippe Aumont was demoted to A today. He has been horrendously bad in AA. 1-6, 7.43 ERA, 38 SO/38 BB ( :o ).
-
Yeah. And Mike Stanton will make his debut for the Marlins on Tuesday, in all likelihood. Pretty big week for top prospects.
-
Tonight is the key game of the series. If the Flyers can come home for game 6 with a chance to win the Stanley Cup, I can't even imagine how wild the city is going to be.
-
Time for the Timonen/Coburn pairing to step it up even more (well, they have been pretty awesome so far, but will need to be even more awesome the rest of this series). The Kane-Toews-Byfuglien line is being split up for the sole purpose of keeping one of Kane/Toews away from Pronger at all times. So, it should be interesting to see how that goes. I'm guessing same lineup tonight, but we won't know for sure until later. JVR looked very strong in game 4 so I am guessing he stays in.

The bats live!! And Jamie Moyer gets his 100th win after turning 40. Pretty incredible. Complete game too. His 2nd complete game of the year, as a 47 year old.

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals is on Wednesday, so I sold my Phillies-Marlins tickets for that night. I may come to regret that decision (although I doubt it). It looks as if it will be Roy Halladay vs. Josh Johnson, and Mike Stanton will be playing in his 2nd MLB game.

Lulz, what an ironic poster. Nice grammar.

Cardinals about to sign Randy Winn, who was let go by the Yankees recently.

Tim Saunders. He is great.

And I like this gem better... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vLwX8CnLt0

Oh Pierre is in a class of his own. But he is objective and isn't a douche, though...which is more than can be said for Milbury.
-
Well, it's better in the sense that there will be a larger audience. Otherwise it's basically the same. Emerick and Olczyk will still do play-by-play, which I like (I love Emerick, although I am not a fan of Olczyk). The VS intermission reports are way better than NBC's though. NBC has Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury....Milbury is a huge tool.

Awesome.....a win... And Brad Lidge looked very sharp.
-
The rest of the series is on NBC...

Dave Trembley fired by Orioles. Pretty [expletive]ty, since that is just a bad team. Not the manager's fault at all but he had to be the scapegoat. Former Phillie Juan Samuel is the interim manager. Hopefully he gets a chance.

Big city with tons of young women...I am sure Pat is not complaining.

Not at all. There are currently no rules in place allowing for that, and there never have been. So the Gallaraga play should not have been overturned, just as none of the other bad calls in the past have been overturned. If rules are put in place in the future, that is a different story.
-
Yeah. And I am not a Bud Selig fan by any means, but if he were to overturn this he would have set a terrible double standard. As I mentioned in the other thread, there are plenty of examples of terrible calls in the past that actually decided games (and important ones at that). If Bud Selig were to overturn this, I don't think the '07 Padres, ''96 Orioles, '85 Cardinals, or '75 Red Sox would have been too pleased. Now, if there were rules in place that allowed for a play at first to be overturned based on video evidence after the fact, then it'd be a different story. But those rules are not in place, so there is no reason to make a new rule just for this one instance. Obviously sucks that he lost the perfect game, it is a [expletive]ty situation all around. And I think we will see expanded instant replay because of this.

He made the right decision, IMO.

Sportscaster Ron MacLean helps rescue man from river

I was actually sitting on a train on the Ben Franklin Bridge going over the Delaware when I read about this. Creepy! -
It is possible. I still don't think I want to see it happen though. Yes, these are very interesting circumstances because the call was clearly blown and it clearly cost Armando Galarraga a perfect game. But, where will it end? Are we also going to reverse the Jeffrey Maier incident and give the Orioles the '96 AL pennant? Are we going to call Matt Holliday out and give the Padres the '07 NL West title? Are we going to give the Cardinals the '85 World Series? You catch my drift... One way or the other, Armando Galarraga was more than perfect in my book. He recorded 28 outs perfectly, and "perfect" does not even begin to describe the way he handled the situation after the game. And, this incident will go down in infamy because it will surely change the face of baseball forever. I am fully expecting to see expanded instant replay next season. All Bud Selig needed to see was something like this. Now it will definitely happen, which is very unfortunate for me and the rest of the purists (such as Cotton Camby).
-
Yeah the only guy in position to make that call was Jim Joyce and unfortunately he [expletive]ed up.
-
I think I could have figured that out on my own, but thanks.
