Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves (4/20-4/22)
Phightins replied to Cobb's topic in Baseball Gameday Discussion
Yeah, it's pretty funny that the Phillies can lose 4 out of 5 in mid April and still be 2.5 up on the Mets. -
Sharks and Avalanche went to OT for the third straight game. Joe Pavelski wins it.
-
Fractured toe for Gagne. Who knows if he'll be able to go on Thursday. Carter should be fine. Phew
-
Yeah. I'd be lying if I were to say I am an Ernie Sims expert. Even if he does have as many question marks as people in here are saying, for that low of a pick I can't really complain...

Hmm, so, Troy Glaus proved that he could not touch Ryan Madson's slider. So what does Ryan Madson decide to throw 1-1? Oh, of course, a juicy fastball right down the middle of the plate. Makes perfect sense. Oh well, at least the Flyers won tonight to make this bearable. We need Brad Lidge back... -
Carter and Gagne are hurt pretty bad apparently. [expletive]. John Boruk

I must say, I am thoroughly impressed that a New York Giants fan is going to such great lengths to defend a Philadelphia Eagle.
-
The Eagles gave the 137th pick.
-
Lol I remember that story.

Happ was scheduled to go but his start is being skipped because he has a forearm strain. -

JA Happ is not pitching this series. Roy Halladay on Wednesday and Jamie Moyer on Thursday. -
The Flyers dominated the 3rd period and OT. It was the best 20+ minutes of hockey this team has played in months.

Actually I lied. After thinking about it, I have seen two incidents (that I can remember). The one time a Philadelphia fan did something completely unprovoked (at least I think it was unprovoked) was at a Flyers playoff game 2 years ago, when a Washington Capitals fan got pissed on in the bathroom. That was just disgusting and uncalled for. I also saw a pretty big fight at a Phillies-Mets game, but it was actually started by a Mets fan who called everyone in the section a [expletive] and then took the first swing (I believe there is video evidence of this somewhere). Other than that, I really have not seen anything at a game that lives up to that "Philadelphia reputation". I attend 20+ Phillies games a year, 10+ Flyers games, 10+ Sixers games, and 1 or 2 Eagles games if I am lucky. So I spend a lot of time down there. It really is no different than any other passionate sports city. I have seen fans of opposing teams have [expletive] talked at them, but usually it is in a non-serious manner. The only times they will legitimately be threatened is if they are obnoxious and talk serious [expletive] themselves.

Is he as sexy as David Wright?

This is a good game. Pretty much every series has been incredibly competitive and fun to watch. This is why the NHL has far and away the best postseason.
-
Brodeur was [expletive]in incredible too. If he is out of the equation, Flyers win by 3 or 4 goals.
-
Wow....Ilya Kovalchuk had 0 shots on goal tonight. And they had EIGHT power plays.
-
Dan Carcillo!!!! What a game. Killed off 8 Devil power plays. The D is playing great. Braydon Coburn stepped up and had a very strong game. Mike Richards and Claude Giroux are playing IMO the best hockey of their career. Holy [expletive] what a win.
-
And apparently the definition of "hooking" is changing by the minute.
-
Unbelievable....enough with the soft penalties, just let them play. It's the [expletive]in playoffs.
-
Can't say I feel bad for Jason Marquis....how's that karma Jason?
-
Back at the Wachovia Center tonight for game 3. They have traditionally been a much better home team this year so hopefully that holds true here.
-
They never hit in cold weather. Got lucky with really warm weather to start the year, then what do you know...weather gets cold the past 2 days and they stop hitting. Cole Hamels looked very good at least.
