  1. My first home game of this series that I will not be attending. Probably for the best though....as Fly3rs knows my luck is not the greatest.
  2. I think Van Gundy already said he was not interested.
  3. Hockey wouldn't work. There are only 4 or 5 of us who are regulars in there.
  4. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/Bruins_fans_Beer_popcorn_condoms_oh_my.html Those Boston fans sure are savages.....every last one of them! Even you ECN.
  5. Hey Kyle I wonder where you found this....HMM
  6. The Phillies are getting an extra 3 home games (well technically the Phillies will be the "away" team). The 3 game series against the Jays that was supposed to be played in Toronto is being moved to Philadelphia because of that G4 Summit in Toronto the same weekend. I heard about this yesterday and MLB just announced it today...
  7. It would be really nice, but as everyone is saying it is probably a waste of time. I think it could definitely work for football and baseball, but it's a stretch. And OTR Football already failed. As ECN mentioned, if we get 10 or so more regular contributors to each of those forums, divisional forums could absolutely work.
  8. I don't see the Nationals sticking around. Not this year. Next year it would not surprise me to see them fight for a playoff spot to be honest if everything goes as they are planning, but they are not ready.
  9. Thank goodness Claude Giroux is alright. Should play Wednesday. Brian Boucher has injuries to both knees....not so good. Michael Leighton looked alright for a guy who has not played in 2 months, but I feel so bad for Boosh.
  10. Back to the Wachovia Center for game 6! What a game tonight...the injuries keep piling on, but they still managed to play IMO their best game of the postseason. I am still concerned about the 3rd D-pairing, most of Boston's sustained pressure came with Krajicek and Parent on the ice. But still, gotta keep it rolling on Wednesday.
  11. So happy we're back in business.
  12. Apparently all of the Phillies players said off-the-record after the game that they wish they could have gotten 5 minutes alone with the idiot, since they think that 3-4 minute incident [expletive]ed up Cole's rhythm big time. Adam Wainwright said if he was a Phillies fan, he'd want to kill the idiot for doing that since it looked to him like Cole absolutely lost his mojo when that happened.
  13. Ernie Harwell passed away tonight. Everyone knew it was coming, but still very sad. One of the all time greats.
  14. Unfortunately, unless they put plexiglass up all around the playing field, fans will always be able to get over the railing (in most parks anyway). So yeah, some idiot ran onto the field again tonight. Didn't get tased though, but Cole Hamels (who was pitching a gem in the 9th inning at the time) lost all rhythm after the incident. He wound up blowing his lead. Coincidence? Who knows, but I know that I and almost every other fan in attendance was hoping the cop would reach for the taser and accidentally pull out the wrong gun, and execute the dumb [expletive] right there on the field. There was a "taser him!" chant going, and the guy got booed off the field.
  15. Going to the game tonight. Will be interesting to see if anybody acts out of line knowing the stadium cops are packing tasers.
  16. The taser was 100% unnecessary. The kid can't do anything about it since he did break the law and yeah technically the cop could have used the taser if he wanted to, but really, the kid was just a nuisance and not a threat. There's a little thing known as running and tackling, and maybe if the Citizens Bank Park security guys would put down the donuts once in a while they could get better at it. They only did this because the kid was embarrassing them and they could not keep up. They don't show these on TV and usually YouTube clips only show the very end, but if anybody has ever seen this happen in person, it's really quite hilarious. If the guy on the field can run, these things last a long time. That is why the taser was used. This happens a lot on dollar hot dog night (such as last night). Lots of high school/college aged kids tend to go to those. They used to have "college night" which was essentially the same thing, but idiots like this guy would do stupid [expletive] all the time so there are no "college nights" anymore, but Dollar Dog nights have taken their place. But yeah, the CBP security is not [expletive]ing around anymore. Not after the vomit incident and the kid who died at the park by being an idiot last year. As I mentioned in the Phillies thread the other day, the guards were very anal over the weekend and I was actually wondering if there was some connection. But this confirms it, they mean business.
  17. Honestly, I hate to say it, but the Mets are actually solid this year. I do not like their pitching at all outside of Santana, but that lineup is very very strong, and will only be better when Beltran gets back (although that might be a good thing for the Phillies, considering how much Angel Pagan kills us).
  18. Matchups for Phillies-Cardinals series: Tomorrow: Jaime Garcia vs. Joe Blanton Tuesday: Adam Wainwright vs. Cole Hamels Wednesday: Brad Penny vs. Kyle Kendrick Thursday: Kyle Lohse vs. Roy Halladay Big Joe's 2010 debut tomorrow night.
  19. That inning was insane. Crazy 2-out rally. Jayson Werth made the 2nd out, then 10 batters later Raul Ibanez finally made the 3rd out.
  20. Wow. Deja vu from the '08 NLDS. Fantastic pitcher walks a poor hitting Phillies pitcher, then Shane Victorino hits a grand slam (substitute Jamie Moyer for Brett Myers, and Johan Santana for CC Sabathia).
  21. It might, actually. The CBP security guys were torn apart by the local media after that happened.
  22. I usually don't hang out down in that area so I'm not sure if things are different there. Usually when I go to a game, it's either in my season ticket seats (which are in the middle level), or with friends (we usually get really cheap seats up top). So it's possible that they handle things differently downstairs, although as I was saying, it got very loud and wild towards the middle innings and the security guys just let it go. However, one of the guys near us said that when Joe Biden was at the game a couple weeks ago (he was apparently sitting in the section that I was standing behind yesterday), one guy dropped an F-bomb and everyone within a 20 foot radius was kicked out.
  23. No actually. He was behaving himself. He just said something to a guy in a Jason Bay jersey. I think he said "go home Bay!" or something of that sort. No cursing, nothing threatening about it, nothing. The guy even laughed. But the [expletive] usher paged security and they came over to "warn" us. My favorite part was they told us not to be loud, as if there's a rule against being loud at a Phillies-Mets game. They then had security guys staked out about 20 feet behind us watching us for the next few innings (we had standing room tickets and were standing right above the section behind the plate). And the problem is you can't say a word to the security guys. If you ask what you did wrong, you get a "shut up or you're leaving". I guess they don't really care about customer service, since they already have our money at that point. The best part was that a couple guys showed up next to us that were very drunk and very loud. They are cursing and obnoxious. I thought they were really funny, but the security dudes didn't say a word to them. So they clearly were enforcing their BS rules.
  24. That was a fun game, save for seeing the Flyers final score flash up on the scoreboard, and nearly getting tossed from the stadium in the 2nd.
