Garcia would like to return to Eagles
Phightins replied to bigdog17k's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
Of course, with all the idiots who support this team that is inevitable. Even if they have two rookies backing up Kolb, people would be calling for one of them to start if Kolb has a bad game. -
New York Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays Series

Yeah honestly kingfish, shut up. How can you possibly question why you piss everybody off? -

Yeah the last couple of outs are always the toughest. Especially against a lineup as good as Tampa's. -
CC Sabathia has a no-hitter through 7 innings.

Best hitter of all time by the time he is finished. Also, to a mod, I was thinking maybe we should "pin" this thread. What does everybody else think?

When Jamie Moyer takes the mound to start tonight's game, he will become the 8th pitcher in MLB history to start a game in 4 different decades.

...Are you kidding me? The Bruins scored 3 short handed goals today....on the same kill. I am not going to lie, that might be one of the most unbelievable sports feats I have ever seen/heard of.

Precisely the kind of guy we'd need to back up Kolb, methinks. -
Can the Pittsburgh Pirates make the playoffs?
Phightins replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Baseball Forum
Bold prediction: In 3 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds will be the top two teams in that division (okay maybe that's a stretch because I don't see the Cardinals fading to obscurity that fast). But really, I like what Neal Huntington is doing. He inherited arguably the biggest mess in pro sports, so it is going to take a while for that project to become complete. But I see them making some very positive steps. In a couple years, this will be a good team. -
Yeah it isn't even close. But if the Sixers ever get relevant you can bet everyone will be riding their bandwagon again. I remember the days (not too long ago, probably 10 years ago) when I was one of about 10,000 people at most Phillies games. And now, a couple league championships later, virtually all 81 home games are already sold out this season. I also remember the days when most Sixers games were sold out, and well, they certainly aren't anymore haha.

With the Phillies on, and the Flyers playing their biggest game of the season, I wonder how many people in the Philadelphia region actually watched this. I know I sure didn't.
-
Yeah it was only a matter of time before both realities sort of came together. I was wondering how they'd pull that off. And yes, it is going to be a wild ending.
-
Placido Polanco has at least 2 hits and 1 run scored in every game this season.
-
I actually disagree. The Flyers played OK tonight but mostly have been absolutely horrible the past few weeks. Brian Boucher has been bad, but the roster from top to bottom has been worse. Goalie problems or not I find this roster to be incredibly flawed and I think that regardless of if they miss the playoffs, the team needs to be semi-blown up. Problem is, that probably can't happen because of all these untradeable contracts.

I saw Rod Barajas getting down and blocking the plate the other night. Couldn't believe my eyes.
-
Oh god he was incredible. That one save he made on JVR in the 3rd was the difference in the game. Actually check that, the difference was the beach ball Boucher let in for the 4th Ranger goal.

This team can hit a little bit...

Can the Pittsburgh Pirates make the playoffs?

Not this year, but I predict they will be contending for the NL Central in 2-3 seasons. -
Welp, that was completely predictable... Why do I have a bad feeling about Sunday?
-
Rather large hockey game tonight...
-
Yeah I would too if I were a White Sox fan. I don't think there's anything wrong with a local broadcaster being a homer.
-
Yep, that's Hawk Harrelson for ya.
-
Why weren't you at the Mets game with all the other Rutgers people last night?
-
Yeah. Well I'm still not sure if he is capable of being a legit starting OFer for a contending team, or if he's going to be a Russell Branyan-type HR or bust guy. But he's sure off to a good start this season.
