  1. SVG and Phil not interested at the moment
  2. Deron missing today's game because of wrist issues. Long overdue, if you ask me. Excited to see how JJ plays, and also looking forward to Tyshawn being on the floor for meaningful minutes.
  3. Been a while since the Nets looked hungry for anything.
  4. Same story for the last several games.
  5. I'm thrilled Avery's stagnant offense can be put on display in front of a national audience.
  6. Had to clear out the collection of OTR YouTube videos off my hard drive to free up some space. I have managed to occupy a ridiculous amount of memory with a bunch of Yankee playoff games, Broncos regular season and playoff games, and nearly every game the Nets have played since D-Will landed. I can probably delete a bunch of the depressing Nets ones.
  7. Vince Carter, T-Mac, Fred Jones, and Brent Barry. At least it will draw viewers for the lulz.
  8. Nothing should be done about it. And I don't think Stern would've brought up this issue if Dwight played for Milwaukee.
  9. Oh don't get me wrong, B, this is not only Avery's fault. It hurts us that there is limited athleticism on the roster and a lot of slow guys on the team. Also hurts that Deron is stinking it up with tasks that are independent of AJ's coaching. But before even analyzing skillsets, it's been hard to find anyone who consistently plays like they care other than Crash. And I feel like that traces back to the coach. The fact that the Nets have blown seven 13-point leads this season says a lot about Avery's ineptitude when it comes to making adjustments as the game progresses. Third quarters have been absolutely pitiful for the majority of the season. I can't tell you how many games the Nets have scored about as many points the entire second half as in either of the first two quarters. The offense goes stagnant way too easily, and that's extremely frustrating. It means that whenever we begin to tire out during the second game of a back-to-back, we're screwed. And our defense, which has stabilized itself over recent weeks (with Lopez playing) has been unacceptably bad in the last two games against the Knicks.
  10. This coming from the only man who has actually succeeded in isos. I'm glad D-Will's quote about the Sloan offense has gotten blown up by the New York media. It might just be what the Nets' FO needs to open its eyes. Chad Ford (take it for what it's worth... Chad Ford isn't always exactly reliable) said Avery's job may not be as secure as it seemed to be a few weeks ago.

Deron is playing like hot garbage, but there's more reason to believe he'll get things figured out than to believe that Avery will ever install a competent offense.

In many ways, yes. But if you want to look at it that way, the blame goes to Avery. Deron can be looked at independently and criticized for not being himself in situations that are unrelated to the coaching. But it would do wonders for Deron if he were playing in a reasonable system.

  12. Way to call a timeout yet again, you moron

  14. I can't say whole lot about his tenure in Dallas because I didn't observe it much myself, but it would certainly help if he squeezed every bit out of Deron, because I think that's contributing to the ugly issue that is his inconsistent and frustrating play.
  15. The team has made major defensive strides in the short time Opening Night, which has really impressed me. But I fear he would hold Brooklyn back from making a serious run at the title.
  16. Someone on NetsDaily shared this link from a Mavs fans' forum, a thread that was posted about three months before AJ was dismissed from Dallas. The topic starter is all over the place and says some far-fetched things at times, but bits and pieces of what he said along with what I read elsewhere in the topic seems to share a lot with what Avery has shown since he started in Jersey. Avery and Devin seemed willing to give it another try in New Jersey, but it honestly seemed Avery had limited patience with Harris before he was dealt in February 2011. Not to mention, Avery's attitude toward Devin in Dallas seems to share a lot with his attitude toward MarShon here. Yes, Brooks is extremely lacking on defense, but Avery needs to recognize when this team needs a spark on the offensive end, MarShon is the guy to put on the floor. Stack has been great for us for an extended stretch this season, but the gradual disappearance and his struggles against Tuesday made it ridiculous that Avery gave him 21 minutes rather than using Brooks, who was giving us exactly what we needed in an offensive showdown. Not a huge sample size for this, but we killed Tuesday's effort by not giving the ball to JJ on the final possession. Avery needs to recognize that he has been red hot off the dribble as of late, while several other perimeter guys are terribly inconsistent. The Nets play at a pace that is way too slow. Maybe they may not be suited to push the ball the way Avery said they would before the season, but the number of unsuitable iso plays that are run makes me think the Nets have absolutely nothing going for them when Brook isn't playing. See Stack vs. MarShon above http://lmf.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=2467702&trail=30
  17. Wondering if both Hump and Brooks get traded. I wouldn't be surprised if the Nets have their eyes on a big, maybe Varejao.

  19. Not surprised at all. JJ's had it going since last Friday, with the exception of the Milwaukee game where he only took eight shots (thanks, Avery). Even through the rougher portions of this season, he's come up big late in many games. Definitely should've had the ball in his hands last Tuesday. From last year: Crash and JJ made this game.
  20. This means absolutely nothing when you consider how Brooks has been used. Scratch MarShon off the list and stick Humphries in there as a lock to be dealt.
  21. ........................................................... Please fire Avery. Please trade Hump.
  22. Really bothers me that Avery's job is allegedly safe
