  1. As much as I would love for that to happen, I don't think 13th + 18th (23rd if the Suns don't make the playoffs) would net us a top 5 pick. Not unless we add another player to that trade, possibly one of our wings or bigs depending on who we would be drafting.
  2. For essentially an expiring contract, you can't go wrong with trading for a 7'3 center loaded with potential. Memphis didn't have the big man coaches Houston has at their disposal such as Jack Sickma, who has done great work with Yao and our other bigs over the years along with Carrol Dawson. I know Hakeem comes down to Houston every summer and has worked with Thabeet in the past (even gave his 'seal of approval' before the draft), not sure about Dikembe but I've always hoped the Rockets would bring him back as a front office personnel or something. And of course there is the 7'6 monster himself, Yao Ming. So basically Houston has to be one of the ideal landing spots for Thabeet, plenty of guys that would work with him and hopefully groom him into a contributor.
  3. Mayo is definitely the key to the Memphis' future, he's shown flashes in his first two years that he has all-star potential and if he can just reach half of his potential then I think the Grizzlies are set as perennial playoff contenders. Xavier Henry is the wild card but he's proven to be inconsistent this season as well and we'll see if conley is worth that contract extension. Anyways assuming the Grizzlies make the playoffs this year the pick is lottery protected from 2013-2016, so plenty of time for that pick to eventually become useful. As for the Suns pick, I really hope we manage to package it along with our pick this year and possibly move into the top 8.
  4. In spite of how I came across in the thread, I hope we do see you more active around here. I remember you from RSZ and the board before it, Red Nation needs more fire power around here.

  5. Contraction would be stupid. Just fix the CBA so players aren't allowed to make super teams and smaller markets are bigger players in free agency and I'm happy.
  6. Yeah I haven't seen much on this guy either, sorta just came out of no where but from what little I've seen I'm not sure if he's 1st overall pick worthy especially if Irving is in the draft.
  7. Wade needed more touches in crunch time.
  8. They're in the playoffs right now aren't they? And they easily have a better core for the future than the Rockets.
  9. The chances of a 9 or 10th seed winning the lottery are about the same as an 8th seed upsetting the best team in the conference. Before I wanted to miss the playoffs but after taking a deeper look at this draft class, I'm not so sure anymore because outside of the top 8 picks there isn't much that would help the Rockets right now. I wanted a project center but we already have one in Thabeet and Fredette is less appealing with the acquisition of Goran Dragic. Houston sports right now are so freaking dull that I wouldn't be opposed to making the playoffs as the 8th seed and facing the Spurs. I remember my first playoff experience was when the Rockets made it as the 7th seed and faced the 2004 Lakers, the series lasted merely 5 games but the city was buzzing and I watched and anticipated every game of the series with a passion. The downside to making the playoffs is that the Suns pick will be lower (if the Suns miss the playoffs, we get the Magic pick instead of the Suns) and the Grizzlies could possibly be setback as well (instead of 2013, the Rockets will get the pick in 2014 because the Grizzlies owe a lottery protected pick to Minnesota). I was hoping earlier that the Rockets could package their pick (somewhere between 11-14) and the Suns (around 18th hopefully) and move up into the top 8 in the draft. So yeah...I'm undecided right now. I guess I'll go with whatever happens.
  10. Goodbye Aaron Brooks! Good [expletive]ing riddance. Kevin Martin has two straight 30 point games on a back to back.
  11. Love the Lowry and Dragic backcourt, both compliment each other so well. I wouldn't be too down on Terrence Williams, he showed some flashes of the great player he could potentially be but this has to be the first game where he was in the rotation so its expected for him to be a little rusty. Budinger is unreal, if he can keep this shooting streak going then the Rockets are going to have a lethal wingman combo with Bud and Martin. Patterson was terrific too, hustling and going hard after rebounds and loose balls. Loved what he brought to the table on both ends of the floor. Jordan Hill and Hasheem Thabeet were eh but didn't really get enough time to show what they could do. Also anyone notice Chuck Hayes' near triple double? 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Chuckwagon going to work.
  12. Arsenal fans are always welcome around here.
  13. Completely different, you have to see it to believe it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRQzl5u5oeQ
  14. Bad pickup. Adelman is a mystery, Terrence is one of the most talented guys on the team easily but he rarely sees any minutes even if he's producing. T-Will sounded confident that he will get minutes with the trade but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  15. I think this is going to be the first Rockets game in weeks that I will actually watch. I expect Goran Dragic will play but if Terrence Williams or Hasheem Thabeet don't play any minutes, I won't be a happy camper.
  16. They want to work him into the offense before giving him the start although he did play the most minutes tonight at the 1. So this makes it what, 2 wins in a row since Deron left? Nice to that Utah isn't going to just roll over and hand their playoff spot to Memphis/Phoenix.
  17. David Kahn's prized trade deadline acquisition logged 4 minutes and 2 points. Wesley Johnson had a terrific game but Beasley was absolutely brutal, he's been struggling a lot lately. My man Trevor Ariza leads the Hornets to victory with 18 points, good to see a solid performance from him. :glasses: Also Landry made his debut.
  18. From the stat sheet it looks like Deron Williams and Morrow had great games. Brook needs to seriously step up, thought we would see him improve with Deron running the show but its only been one game and against the #1 team in the league nonetheless.
  19. Best way to develop is to throw the kids to the wolves. Adelman doesn't ever do that.

  20. So what you're saying is...all rookies are projects?

  21. I would like Cena a tad more if he dropped the rapper gimmick like I hope Punk does with the straight edge stuff.
  22. We have a long list of projects? This is news to me.
