  1. Shit I forgot all about the game today.

    Any MLS fans?

    Dynamo fan here. :glasses:
  3. http://www.ibabuzz.com/warriors/2011/06/25/warriors-arent-just-giving-away-biedrins/ Even if the price is only Jordan Hill and Hasheem Thabeet, I don't want to go anywhere near Andris Biedrins' contract.
  4. I wouldn't want the Rockets to force him into the 5 but I don't see anything wrong with experimenting with it. That said, Motiejunas and Bargnani are two completely different people. By the way, the Rockets will receive the Timberwolves 2012 2nd round pick.
  5. Love his confidence. Morris might have been the top pick but Motiejunas stole the show in the press conference.
  6. I was pretty upset with this pick, mainly because we passed up on Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Vucevic (two players at the top of my draft board) but after sleeping on it I can't say that I'm thrilled but I am intrigued. Morey truly believes that Morris will be able to become a full fledged small forward down the road, and Morris seems to really want to be here (told practically that he wanted to get drafted by us). I wonder if being able to work with Kevin McHale had anything to do with it. Anyways here are a few tidbits on him: Read more: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/7624254.html#ixzz1QE7Zbcdp Can't find the tweet again but one Lakers beat writer mentioned that Marcus Morris was ranked 5th on the Lakers draft board.
  7. I am still doing cartwheels. Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/214339/Rockets_See_Shades_Of_Nowitzki_In_Motiejunas#ixzz1QE4pMgdS
  8. I thought you loved the three team deal? Tobias Harris wasn't a great pick but not terrible either. He's a jack of all trades but apparently has a very high IQ and only 18 years old, plenty of time for him to improve.
  9. I thought the Wolves had a great draft. Derrick Williams was the best player available, Malcolm Lee was a steal in the 2nd round and fits the Wolves roster, and while all the trade downs had me scratching my head they still came out with a 2013 first round pick. Granted its lottery protected but surely the crop in the draft 2 years from now will be more stacked than this year's. Also picked up 2 2nd rounders from all the dealing. In the end all the cash the Wolves mustered together from trading down will probably go into Rambis' buyout, so it might be worth it.
  10. Some good info from Clutch right after the draft: Rockets had discussions with teams holding picks in the range 2-6 and the player they would have selected would have been Jonas Valanciunas. Yes they would have taken him over Derrick Williams and Kanter. Also said that the Rockets were close to acquiring Andris Biedrins from the Warriors. Said details should be in the Chronicle tomorrow morning. I think we dodged a bullet there. Rockets love Motiejunas. Apparently very happy that they could get Parsons too.
  11. All Rockets. 2nd overall pick - Hasheem Thabeet 6th overall pick - Johnny Flynn 8th overall pick - Jordan Hill 11th overall pick - Terrence Williams 27th overall pick - DeMarre Carroll* 32rd overall pick - Jermaine Taylor* 34th overall pick - Sergio Llull 44th overall pick - Chase Budinger *Asterisk means player no longer on roster.
  12. Eh I didn't think any of the point guards in this class besides Irving were better prospects than Valanciunas. Raptors could draft a point guard next year in a much deeper class.
  13. I meant in terms of moving up 3 spots it was a steep price. On top of moving the 23rd pick + 38th (wasn't aware of it at the time but we did get this pick right back), we gave up a first that could end up being higher than the 20th pick and will certainly be in a deeper draft. I'm a believer in Flynn but he doesn't make the deal all that much better. Doesn't matter now though. The first we traded btw was the one we received from the Grizzlies (2013 lottery protected).
  14. Brandon Knight would have been a good pick but Jonas Valanciunas is a GREAT pick. If I'm a Raptors fan I'm very excited about the possibilities with a frontcourt of Ed Davis and Jonas.
  15. Good to see 400+ posts tonight but with the draft over there is literally nothing to post about until the lockout is resolved, which could take months. Ugh.
  16. Getting Darius Morris during the middle of the 2nd round makes this draft for the Lakers a success alone.
  17. Marcus Morris: I can understand taking the best player on the board but at the 14th pick, Kawhi Leonard would have made much more sense and arguably was the better prospect. Morris doesn't fill a need at all, he's a 4 that could play some minutes at the 3 (at least there is that) but I've learned never to doubt Daryl Morey on draft night. I look forward to seeing what McHale does with him, he's certainly a talented post player. Grade: B- Donatas Motiejunas: great pick, raw player but he has the potential to be a top 5 player in this draft. Houston and Motiejunas are a perfect match. Grade: A+ Chandler Parsons: I would be lying if I said that I knew a thing about Parsons but from what Bilas and Draftexpress have said about him, he's a talented and versatile prospect that could make an NBA team. There were a couple of guys that I would have preferred but at this point of the draft I can't really complain. Grade: C+ Rockets overall grade: B
  18. Logjam at the forward positions: Power forwards: Patrick Patterson, Luis Scola, Jordan Hill, Marcus Morris, and Donatas Motiejunas (potentially could be center but depends). Small forwards: Chase Budinger, Terrence Williams, Chandler Parsons, and Marcus Morris (split minutes at 3?). Grand total of 8 forwards. Someone has to be on the move.
  19. And Jordan Hill. Someone definitely needs to go. I liked Flynn at the deadline but the fact of the matter is that he will be the Rockets' 3rd point guard, so I wouldn't weigh his value along with Motiejunas'. Love the trade regardless.
  20. In the second half of the first round I only got 2 points. Talk about choking.
  21. Tough to swallow that we gave all that just to move up 3 spots but we got a GREAT prospect in Donatas Motiejunas. I've been lobbying for him for 2-3 years now, very happy that we managed to nab him after losing out on some of the more polished big men. Motiejunas has the potential to be one of the best players in this draft, some nasty reports on his willingness to play defense and box out but if there is any team that could help him reach his full potential its the Houston Rockets. Kevin McHale must be very happy too, gets a big man to groom for the next few years.
