He was actually only one away from tieing the record according this report that came out earlier today: http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/story/_/id/7712494/lionel-messi-ties-cesar-rodriguez-barcelona-career-scoring-mark Anyways, he has scored three goals today in the game against Granada. What an achievement this is though. Absolutely incredible.

What game does everyone have on? I just turned on the Vanderbilt-Wisconsin game. Guess I'll be rooting for Vandy since they're from the SEC. -
Quarterfinals looks like this: APOEL v Real Madrid 03/27/2012 / 04/04/2012 Benfica v Chelsea 03/27/2012 / 04/04/2012 Marseille v Bayern Munich 03/28/2012 / 04/03/2012 AC Milan v Barcelona 03/28/2012 / 04/03/2012 First legs to be played on March 27/28 and the Second legs will be played on April 3/4. A.C. Milan got the worst tie matching up with Barcelona. Real Madrid got lucky with APOEL, but will most likely have to face Bayern in the semifinals.

His goal would've been legendary man. I kind of feel bad for him considering he won the corner and then the game ended. Also, the Champions League quarter-final draw takes place tomorrow morning. Really excited to see what the matchups are.

Both Manchester clubs got knocked out of the Europa League today. Battle now begins for the Premier League title.

Yep, here's the gif: http://i41.tinypic.com/1gncd0.jpg Every time I watch it I laugh.

Yeah, he had two pretty good opportunities late in the game. One being the header that just barely went over the goal and the other when the ball took a high bounce and went over the goalie. Granted it was a tough angle for him on that second attempt, it would've been a sweet goal. That turn and pass by Drogba that led to the goal by Ivanović' sweet though. While I'm not a Chelsea fan by any means, I found myself really rooting for them throughout the whole match. I guess it's because they're the only team left from the EPL.

Great game between Chelsea and Napoli going on right now. About to start the second half of extra time with Chelsea up 5-4 on aggregate thanks to Branislav Ivanović's goal in the last minute of the first half.

Carlos Tevez could possibly make his return next Wednesday against Chelsea.

With Manchester City's loss to Swansea, Manchester United is now on top of the table for the first time in 5 months. Only means that the match against Manchester City at the end of April will have even more signification. As for today's Arsenal-Newcastle game, I didn't get a chance to watch the whole thing, but managed to watch Thomas Vermaelen score the game winning goal for Arsenal in stoppage time. According to the announcers, Arsenal is the first team in Premier League history to go behind and come back to win in 4 consecutive games. Pretty amazing stuff.

Nah man, never even heard of it.

His acceleration is unbelievable.

Pretty bad day for the top two English teams in the Europa League. Manchester City lost to Sporting 1-0. Manchester United fell to Athletic Bilbao 3-2. Only managed to catch the ending of this one, but what a great game it was. Could've been 3-1 if not for a handball on the edge of the box in stoppage time. Sure looks like Atheltic Bilbao will be going through to the quarterfinals now.

Chelsea (2-0 win over Birmingham City) and Tottenham Hotspur (3-1 win over Stevenage) are both through to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinal matchups look like this: March 17: Tottenham Hotspur vs Bolton Wanderers Everton vs Sunderland March 18: Liverpool vs Stoke City Chelsea vs Leicester City
