Pacquiao-Clottey
The Great iBoldin replied to His Greatness's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
He didn't even need an impressive performance to beat Clottey. He ran his show every round, the punch count was something like 1200-400. Pacquiao was treating Clottey like a body bag, Clottey fought scared, he fought like a little girl. -
It won't work. It just never does. How many times have we tried this? 6? 7?
-
I'm not either - I've been singing this tune for quite a while too. Good quarterback, who can play in the simplified system, but won't win a Super Bowl. He just doesn't have "it". Trent Edwards-like career, maybe a bit better.

Of course they should have. Prioritizing your assets is a major part of any organization. Unfortunately for people around the NFL, they became to know Boldin about what he is - a prima donna who unfortunately, but predictably has started to feel the wear and tear of many NFL seasons. I'm not saying Boldin isn't a borderline top-ten receiver today, because he is. But when you look at all the aforementioned factors, how he becomes a free agent this year, a move HAD to be made. None of these teams had to acquire Boldin. They already tried to hold out for more last year, asking for more then a second, and it didn't work. Why risk it, go past draft day and trade him for no immediate gains? It's not smart business. Once again, people I've talked, including one INSIDE the Cardinals organization who chips in with one of the blogs I frequent, has said time and time again that the Cardinals WILL NOT maximize Boldin's value, because the market just simply isn't there. Why? I have no idea. Should the Cardinals attempted to get more? Maybe. We don't know that, because they made this deal. As much as I love Boldin as a player, I'm not spending a second and fourth round selection price tag, after having to extend him for a 7 million-per-year cap hit for a guy who mysteriously has ticks and tacks to his body, missing too many games. If he can't be a factor like he wasn't in the past two playoff runs, then it was time for a deal.

Yeah but on the other hand, it also took him six days to do so as well, and went after me. Not that I care really, just thought I'd point it out.

We got a fair settlement for Boldin - at least that's the highest we were going to get. Seriously. Every single guy I've talked (six, ranging from e-mails, to PM's, etc. to some fairly knowledgeable people of the situation) to says that the Cards were, rightfully so, handicapped by Boldin's threats and teams took advantage of it. You can't come away from that losing your second best wide receiver and receive nothing. 3rd and 4th round picks are completely justifiable, and allow the Cards to do what they see fit in the draft. Whether that's staying put, or trading up for a tackle or Weatherspoon, I don't know. Let's not forget Rod Graves is absolutely money with his mid-round picks.

There's a very good chance Derek Anderson lands in Arizona, and he's a guy, despite his struggles, I'd welcome with open arms to either start or back-up Leinart this year. If Whis wants to stay with an air it out attack, Anderson fits us perfectly. If not, he's a cheap back-up who could be a fan favorite. It's a win-win situaion.

iBoldin - fresh to the game, a real unsung Drake, Riot - throwin' the first punch, a pivotal mistake/ New to the experience, circa the Tampa Devil Rays, Try to throw that perfect pitch and I'll be on it like Willie Mays/ I find the perfect beat, the perfect rhyme at the perfect time, You spittin' a lamestrumental, an imperfect preformance at the most inopportune of times/ Not sayin' I'm a Nas, not sayin' I'm a bug, But like that gun barrel, I'm as hot as that .44 slug/ A pedestrian performance is all I need, I could do this when I'm sleepin', how about you pass me that bag o' weed?/ The max was 16, I'll go two lines less, That's all iBoldin needs to leave ya in a bloody mess/ I'm the Kobe to your Barnes, the Gasol to your Dwight, Speedin' off to the second round, Your outta my rear view sights/ Wow, that's brutal. Hopefully it's enough though. Get yours in, Riot!

Schefter also said the 'Skins and Willie Parker are meeting. That'd be an excellent move on Washington's part, with or without Portis.
-
Exactly. Get them at wholesale prices, sell them at "wholesale" prices.
-
I feel okay, it's not a big deal. I'm glad he went to a team where he can be a number one receiver. He'll mesh well with what Cam Cameron does and Joe Flacco's niches.
-
It's only 15 million, I doubt he'll ever see another cent of that guaranteed money. I'm sort of glad to see these Cards getting overpaid. Dansby is a beneficiary of the system and he won't be given the same reign under Parcells as he did under Whis and his system. Rolle was just absolutely [expletive]ty until last year when he got moved to safety.

I swear I never saw this till yesterday, I just never had the time to make up a verse or whatever they call it. I'll have mine in tomorrow afternoon.

Antonio Cromartie to the Jets
The Great iBoldin replied to Flash's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
It likely won't, given Ryan's reluctance to give players free roam in the secondary unless they are a proven commodity. Cromartie could be a good piece, or he could be an average piece. I do tend to think the former, though. Good trade for the Jets. -
I love me some Alanis though.

It just isn't very good to have Nickelback sing a song that contained about ten words that you can't even say on TV. I kinda like the song though. Not Avril Lavigne, though. Go back to 2004 with your garbage.
-
I don't think he played like absolute [expletive], he wasn't very good, the second goal can be considered his fault if you want, but the first one wasn't. He made the necessary saves, he didn't play as well as Ryan Miller, but he stopped the shots he needed to. Certainly not his playoff form, or what he's capable of, but it's probably better then what Blowdeur could've put out there.

Yes, because that matters.

That wasn't a choke. The puck was a little far ahead, not enough for a quality angle for a good scoring chance. Hardly a choke.

2-0 Canada. Fairy Perry gettin' it done. Lets see the USA fight back from adversity.
-
Face value for some of the games dropped dramatically, I went to the Bronze Medal Game last night and paid just $225/ticket for three tickets, Canadian money. That's insane for an Olympic event.

I think (obviously) Canada will win, and I don't think Ryan Miller plays as well as he has all tournament. It'll also be interesting to see how Luongo plays. Neither goalie has ever been in a true pressure situation, and this is it. I think Canada is too much to handle though, especially if they play like they did against Russia and for about 52 minutes against Slovakia.
