The Phoenix Suns signed head coach Alvin Gentry to a contract extension that will keep him with the club through the 2012-13 season.

“It was important to extend Alvin’s contract before this season,” said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. “He proved his mettle as the perfect coach for the Suns last season. We are excited to have him lead our team going forward.”

That's a vote of confidence from the boardroom. Hopefully Gentry can mesh Hedo, amongst the other newcomers, into the system and the Suns can continue their run. They were a really fun team to watch last year.

Yup. We are going to surprise a lot people again this season.

One of the best news we could hear and read as a Suns fan. Gentry, in my eyes, is one of the best coach in the league right now. It's great for the Suns to have him. His timeouts are just SO beneficial for the team. Just remember, all the time the Suns are being blown-out and Gentry calls a timeout, the Suns always make a run.
