I seriously can't believe that.

Green will play the three, and he'll help defend LeBron and Carmelo.

Perkins was huge for Boston, though...but maybe the Celtics felt like he wasn't going to return to the team next season.

Thunder are one of my favorite teams and I love that they got Perkins. Jeff Green doesn't mesh at all in OKC and now Perkins is going to be that Center that they have needed for while now. YES!

Edit:

This might be one of the best defensive lineups in the game and they are super young

Westbrook

Thabo

KD

Ibaka

Perkins

Here is an official link:

Just before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, the Boston Celtics agreed to ship center Kendrick Perkins and guard Nate Robinson to the Oklahoma City Thunder for swingman Jeff Green and big man Nenad Krstic, two league sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford on Thursday.

Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said Wednesday that Perkins is out at least a week after spraining the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

It's a homecoming of sorts for Green. He was selected by the Celtics in the first round (fifth overall) in the 2007 draft. But he was traded with Wally Szczerbiak, Delonte West to then Seattle SuperSonics for Ray Allen and Glen Davis.

The Celtics' pursuit of a perimeter player intensified when it became apparent that Marquis Daniels might miss the rest of the season with a spinal injury.

I think they need to stop babying Harden. Throw him to the wolves and see how he responds, he really is the key/x-factor to their future at this point.

if brooks just let him play he wouldnt be worried about getting pulled for every little mistake he makes

when he started for us he played extremely well had a few 30point games, durant was out but nevertheless. as long as he knows he will get minutes he will play well

I was freaking out about this earlier, but the Celtics did go 33-10 without him, so obviously they feel like with his contract issues and his knee problems, it's better that they get some value for him while the demand for a player of his caliber is still high. I'm actually more shocked that they traded Semih Erdan to the Cavs, I thought he was a serviceable backup that could get some minutes come playoff time, because Jermaine is useless. Broussard was just talking about how Shaq still looked unhealthy and was limping around during all star break, so it's obvious that the Celtics will explore opportunities to get a guy like Troy Murphy or even Sheed to strengthen that frontcourt.

And I fully understand that the Celtics were concerned that with Marquis possibly being out for the rest of the season that they needed to make a trade for a SF. But I'd much rather see them go after a specialist type player to back him up, ala Shane Battier or Josh Howard. Jeff Green is a terrible rebounder, has a pretty low IQ, and his shot selection is poor. I don't know if going after him was the best idea.

But it's obvious to me that Danny Ainge knows something we don't.
