Do you eat junk food often?

Recommended Posts

Haven't had regular soda in years, probably 4 years? Don't really like it... I drink Diet Coke about 4-5 times per week I'd say, though. As far as junk food, I probably eat a bit too much of it. But whatever. I'm about average weight for my height, I exercise daily, so I don't think it's too big of a deal. Most of the time I eat healthy, full rounded meals.

lmfao I've heard that's even worse than regular soda.

For years, people have thought that diet soda was the way to go if you wanted to cut down on the sugar and calories that come with regular soda. Apparently, they are now finding that it might not be such a safe choice after all. Researchers have now determined that drinking one soda a day, whether it's diet or regular, is associated with a much higher rates of heart disease and diabetes.

They've associated regular, sugar-sweetened soda, with those health concerns for years, but this is the first study that finds that diet soda is also an indicator of future health issues. They don't think that it is the ingredients in the diet soda that lead to health problems, but that drinking soda (of any variety) is an indicator of other questionable eating patterns. Which just confirms what we've all known for years. You can not redeem a quarter pounder with cheese and large fries with the addition of a diet soda.

Diet pop does away with the sugar. Instead, it's flavored with chemicals that taste sweet but don't provide any energy. These chemicals make it possible for diet pop to taste sugary, so you can satisfy your soda cravings but still have zero calories.
By the end of the study, the risk of becoming obese had increased by 41 percent for each can of diet soft drink subjects drank per day. For each level of consumption (less than one half can a day, one half to one can a day, one to two cans a day, or more than two cans a day), diet soft drink users had a higher risk of being overweight than people who drank regular soft drinks.

technically, it was my third justification. I posted two articles before the song. but yeah, Lupe speaks the truth. the articles I posted mention how they use chemicals in diet sodas in place of natural sugar, so I wouldn't be surprised if diet soda kills some brain cells.

in fact, I'm looking it up now and they have a facebook page for it lol.

I'm not saying it's a fact that diet soda kills brain cells, but it's certainly a possibility. if they use chemicals to make these sodas, you at least have to think it's a possibility. I wouldn't be surprised if our own drinking water has harmful effects.

First of all, I never said it was healthier - I said I don't like regular soda, I think it tastes too sweet. I don't need you giving me your stupid [expletive]ing 2nd grade research project to inform me that Diet Soda is no safer than regular.

Second of all, as far as watching your weight, Diet soda is definitely better alternative. I lost about 50 lbs a few years back, from switching off high sugar products food and beverage wise, but mainly soda, and haven't gone back since and have been able to maintain my weight pretty well since then (about 5'7" - 5'8" 145-150 lbs) by using Diet coke as an alternative (although I mostly drink water anyway).

not at all. I still live in my parents house and its my mom that does every meal. My sister and mom started a diet so there is nothing with a lot of sugar in the house.. I feel too healthy. I sometimes eat fast food with my friends.. not too much. Maybe once a month or once 2 weeks.

lol i thought it was common knowledge for at least the past decade that diet coke can cause cancer and kill brain cells? Splenda was originally made as an antifreeze and chemically is very similar to ddt.. But Like i care, anything nowadays can kill you.

I eat fast food at least once a day, 7 days a week. Had taco bell thursday, a burger friday, and probably gonna have pop eyes today. Life is good.

I only drink sodas when I'm thirsty at a party or whatever, other than that never.

As for junk food, I barely eat it. Maybe once every two or three days.
