LeBron's Legacy

Yeah, but haters will still always bring that up no matter what when it comes to comparing him to MJ.

Oh well, I wouldn't say LeBron had a bad performance yesterday either, sure he didn't score much points but him and Dwyane Wade brought the team back up after being down 9 with numerous awesome assists. I would just wait for the next 2 games to judge LeBron's legacy because he still has a chance to win the ring.

Nine Finals games for LeBron, with zero games over 25 points. That's a problem. He's going to need to get something going soon. He shot under 40% against the Spurs in 2007, and people will never forget the sweep. Now, with the Game 2 collapse and the terrible fourth quarter performances, he's in trouble.

He'll always be like that unless he switches from muscle to thinner, he needs to lose some muscle to gain scoring ability.

Dude is only 26 years old, too early to be talking about his legacy. How many players have seen that 9 finals games at that age anyways?

LeBron's legacy is defintely deeply hurt right now, no doubt about that.

First of all it's true that a bad game can happen to anyone. But the fact is that the greatest players immediately get back to their best the following game. And this time LeBron has not had two but THREE bad games in a row. He was totally unable to react in those three games.

Second of all we can talk about his attitude. No matter what an All Time great would never give up, no matter how bad he's playing and give all what he got to make his team wins. Yet LeBron's attitude was absolutely pathetic in those games, especially in game 5, the dude was even scared to shoot ! And being scared is the worst that can happen, because you're not a threat any longer and totally useless to your team.

Third, not only he's terrible and has no impact whatsoever on his team in the clutch, but he dares to laugh and lack respect to his opponents... Yet Dirk (as he's the one we're talking about here) is BY FAR better than him in those Finals and he's led his team to a 3-2 advantage in those Finals, this despite the fact that his team is not as talented as LeBron's team (if we still can consider that the Heat is LeBron's team...). (By the way all of this is quite funny as I'm sure that Dirk doesn't even care about it, his best response to that is on the court...).

Fourth, he's the only MVP, to be still at his prime, to have such a terrible performance in the clutch, in the NBA Finals. As a matter of fact all the other former MVPs who had such bad performance in the clutch were WAY past their prime.

One, that's right, one of the three things I mentioned alone would be enough to hurt his legacy. So when you combine the three you can realize how deeply his legacy is hurt right now...

Now it's true that the Finals are not over. And a great performance in a Heat win could make up for it. But it's quite doubtful cause the problem is in his head, and it's very hard, almost impossible in fact, to forget about your struggling and get back to your best just like that... Mental is very important in basketball. In 94 John Starks lost totally his basketball for several months after Hakeem blocks his 3 pters at the end of game 6. In 95 Nick Anderson never was the same player after he missed four free throws in a row at the end of game 1 (one of them would have been enough to make Orlando win). Lindsey Hunter used to be a terrific 3 pts shooter until one day he started to totally lose confidence in his shot and never was the same player again (he becamse a defensive specialist after that). I could give more examples of that...

Now sure LeBron is a better player than the ones I mentioned. But the least we can say is that he's not stronger in his head than them. And the fact that he literally quit against Boston last year definitely confirms that (and it hurt his legacy even more).

So no doubt that LeBron's legacy is in danger right now. That's the least we can say. However we'll have to wait until the end of these Finals to be really able to judge. Let's see what he'll do in game 6.

Even if Miami wins, it will be because of Wade, not Lebron. He will always be looked at as a guy who needed another superstar to lead.

If you're a dumbass then yes thats what he will be looked at as.

LeBron took a team by himself to the finals, leading has nothing to do with it.

He got to the finals once in 6 years.

Lets not forget Dirk is on the verge of winning and he doesnt have another superstar, he has some solid role players and defenders. Dirks legacy should be the one rising. Lebron has another superstar whos arguably better and he still might lose. Even if Miami wins Wade is going to win Finals MVP. What happened to all the people who said Kobe's first 3 rings didnt count cause Shaq won Finals MVP? But never mind the Finals MVP, Wade's production in these finals has been enormously better then Lebrons. In these finals Lebron has been a ghost in the 4th quarter, while Wade has been the leader. At least for the Kobe-Shaq era Kobe was the one dominating those 4th quarters and his production was arguably on par with Shaq.

Lol, people forget that a certain someone didn't win anything until he was 28 years old.

Correct, but Randy Brown wasn't that big of a deal in Chicago, so I'm not sure why you're bringing him up, unless you're comparing the two and their roles.

LeBron is on pace to be 0-2 in the Finals. Michael is 6-0.

In LeBron's first Finals game, he had 14 points, 7 rebs, 4 asts.

In Jordan's first Finals game, he had 36 points, 8 rebs, 12 asts. That's better than anything LeBron dropped in his 2 Finals runs to date.

Can we please stop these comparisons?

Wow Stat from Finals on @SportsCenter: When the score is within 5 pts in the final 5 min of the game Dirk has scored 26 pts, LeBron 0.

Fun Fact: In NBA Finals 4rth quarters Dirk Nowitzki has outscored LeBron James 52-11, including 24-3 at foul line.

Well his legacy was tarnished when he decided to team up with a top 3 win player and top 5-7 forward. The fact that he's struggling to score in the fourth, about to lose the Mavs in the finals (making him 0-2 for his career in the finals), and he's playing like Pippen to Wades Jordan will further hurt his legacy. I still don't get the Lebron to Kobe comparisons, let alone Lebron to Jordan comparisons.

Yet Kobe and Shaq played together, so you have no valid point, whatsoever.

What does that have to do with anything? Kobe has proven that he can win without Shaq, and on an individual basis he's way more Jordan like (as far as skill and success) than Lebron. I have no idea what you're getting at.

The part where you said his legacy was tarnished when he teamed up with a top three player.......just like Kobe and Shaq were. Anything you said after that does not validate the statement you made.

Kobe was drafted and traded to LA. Shaq came to the Lakers not knowing Kobe was going to be a superstar. Those are two entirely different situations compared to a superstar leaving to team with another superstar + an all-star.
