Brandon Knight's angry face at the draft

It was clear that, when Knight fell and was eventually drafted by the Pistons, he was angry. The interview had a weird vibe, and Knight's facial expressions were convincing enough.

If you were Knight, would you be upset to be in Detroit? If not Detroit, what better place? Is it the fact that he's now going to have to fight Rodney Stuckey for the point guard spot, or split minutes with him, over having to snag those minutes from someone like an older Jose Calderon? Was he upset that Sacramento passed on him (had they not made the trade), and he knew that they were taking Jimmer just a few picks later? Did he want Utah?

Well him being mad was obviously certain, idk who wouldnt be mad getting drafted in a mess like Detroit. Imo the new coach should come in amd say the PG spot is his to lose. Stuckey is a solid player but his actions and attituted are just not there especially as a role model for a younger pg. They drafted Knight now they really should, for him, make the commitment to stand by him.

Salary man he could have went number 3 to Utah and been making like 2-3 million more each year.

From watching him since he was in 8th grade, he's really not the type that shows a lot of emotion. He's got one of those boring personalities to be honest. I think if he was disappointed at something it was that he slipped a bit. Not that he was heading to Detroit.

It was a combination of falling so far and getting drafted by team that already has enough guards as it is. Regardless you have to be feeling good if you're a Pistons fan, sure the franchise is a mess right now but you have two very good building blocks in Brandon Knight and Greg Monroe.

I agree with the people who are saying it is more due to him falling to 8 than actually being picked by the Pistons. At one point in time it was looking like he was a lock to go 3rd to Utah, wouldn't fall past 5 tand absolutele worst case scenario was him going 7th to Sacramento. The Jazz decide to go with Kanter instead, Toronto has Valanciunas fall to them (and even if he was gone it sounds like Biyombo would've been the pick and not Knight) and then the Kings trade down to 9 because they'd rather have Jimmer than stick at 7 and pick Knight.

He lost out on a decent amount of money and I would imagine that he was really looking forward to being a top 5 pick, so that is probably why he looked so pissed at the draft. At least, that is how I took it.

For a rookie who never sees millions, no. 3 to no. 8 is quiet significant amount of money to lose, up to $1.5 mil per difference? That's huge.

Utah is the smallest market in NBA, it's not like he was dying to get there... and Pistons are top 10 most valuable teams in NBA, with championships and history. And he'd also be competing with Devin Harris for PG spot, it's not all groovy there.

It'd be different for veterans who have cashed in $8-10 mil/ above per season... $1.5 mil per season less is okay. But for rookies who is about to get their first paycheck, $1.5 mil per season difference is a lot.

It's the money.
