Golden State has added a lot of salary over the past few days. A lot of questionable contracts on that team right now:

Biedrins

Bogut

Lee

Jefferson

are all due to make $9M+ for at least 2 more seasons after this one.

Well they get a first round pick to taking on Jefferson albeit it is protected.

David Aldridge ‏ @daldridgetnt

Warriors will get conditional first from San Antonio along with Richard Jefferson for Stephen Jackson.

It's official: STEPHEN JACKSON BACK TO THE SPURS

HANG TIME HEADQUARTERS – The Golden State Warriors have used Stephen Jackson to land a first-round pick and Richard Jefferson from the San Antonio Spurs, according to league sources.

The Warriors acquired Jackson in a five-player deal earlier this week with the Milwaukee Bucks. Our man David Aldridge reports the Warriors have flipped Jackson into a conditional first-rounder from the Spurs in what should be a very deep Draft.

The volatile Jackson is a Gregg Popovich favorite, making his return to the Spurs a reunion for the coach and player that helped the franchise to a championship in 2003.

Happy for the San Antonio Spurs, good pickup; now if they can somehow reduce minutes played by their starters, to prevent injuries, the Spurs would be golden.

That's the key right there. Manu Ginobili needs to stay healthy if the Spurs want to make a PO push. They also need a big (and why they didn't trade for one makes me think they feel a buyout candidate is most likely, whether that is Diaw or Kaman remains to be seen) and a backup PG. Fisher? Carter?
