Harden: Thunder Remain Team To Beat In West

Recommended Posts

The Thunder won the Western Conference in 2012, beating the Lakers along the way in the Semifinals.

But the complexion of the conference has changed following the Lakers' acquisitions of Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.

"That's what the Lakers do," said Kevin Durant about the trade. "They have great management and ownership to make those moves come to life."

James Harden doesn't believe the Lakers' offseason moves change his opinion that the Thunder remain the team to beat in the Western Conference.

"Of course," said Harden when posed the question.

What else is he going to say? We all know LA is the best team in the west now, on paper. Anything less than 65 wins and a title would be utterly disappointing. But then again, Mike Brown IS their coach after all. How hilarious will it be if they somehow aren't top 5 offensively?

"Hey James, are the Lakers the team to beat now?"

"Nothing!"

Could easily avoid the question. Many athletes avoid the question to avoid the controversy.

"Hey James, are the Lakers the team to beat now?"

"I'm not sure. Both teams have great rosters, it'll make for a great season and playoffs."
