4 years, 70 million. Overpaid, yes. But many other guys in the NBA are now getting max contracts and not all of them are worthy of it. This had to be done after Lacob, Myers held onto Klay in deals for Kevin Love.

I believe Thompson is a top 5 shooting guard in the NBA. He is one of the few guys in the league that can hold a guy from scoring 20 while dropping 20 himself.

A lot of times, on max deals, you're having to gamble to see if it pays off to begin with...so this was a good move.  I can't say he's worth that money yet, but he could be.  He's still improving as we speak.

Klay has enough upside to him that overpaying him isn't really a huge gamble, in my opinion, How he's broken out during the summer and how he's currently playing makes this a good move to secure him.

I thought this was an overpay.  He'll have to have an even better season than last. We'll see how things go though.

As of right now, he certainly is over paid. But, with that said he's still maturing and has loads of potential. To prove all his critics wrong, he needs to perform in the playoffs when it matters.

Golden State had no choice they had to pay him the max because he was walking otherwise. With him and Curry locked up for years this team is gonna be competitive for years to come.

I was pretty skeptical at first as well...but given his fast start, he's proving to pay dividends. And with the lack of great two way shooting guards in the league, as well as his chemistry with Curry, I think it's a pretty fair deal.

GS is looking like a major contender..
