La Bomba Posted October 29, 2009 Report Share Posted October 29, 2009 I love Mayo, he's my favorite player and there are probably less than 10 guys I would trade for him. With that said, I really don't understand all the "hype" behind his defense. Kobe and other guys from the USA team were extremely impressed with his defense, but I don't see why. He always struggles against those guys that are quick and move very well without the ball, such as Rip Hamilton. Yesterday, Hamilton and Gordan were penetrating past Mayo pretty easily. I just don't see where all the hype came out of. Last year he struggle, and he is this year as well. And I'm worried about his overall play as well. He's been struggling to find his shot in the preseason and he really struggled in his first game. I'm pretty confident he'll be back to his old self soon, but what I have seen so far is worrying.
