  1. This deserves its own topic. Incredible game. He had 20 in the 4th, seemed like he made 30 shots because they were all beautiful (if you love basketball, you get it). He doesn't have a jumper like Ray Allen, but Durant scores so effortlessly, it makes you feel like you could be out there doing it. Top three playoff performance? Best you've ever seen? Was it better than Luka Doncic's 43/17/13 against the Clippers in last year's playoffs (hobbled ankle, down 21, ended in a game-winning three)?
  2. Of course, the Clippers will go as Kawhi goes, but look at his postseason numbers so far... Even in losses, he's putting up decent numbers, but when he's aggressive and efficient, the Clippers are elite. Just for fun...Paul George: 49/108 (45.4%), 19/47 3PT (40.4%), 25.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG (wins) 39/90 (43.3%), 11/36 3PT (30.6%), 24.2 PPG, 9.6 RPG (losses) I would say that the difference in Kawhi's numbers are a bit more impactful than PG's.
  3. I'm sorry, but what happened with Jokic in a CLOSE-OUT GAME to go to the WCF's was bullshit. It doesn't matter who I was rooting for or against, no player should've been tossed for that kind of foul. Jokic went for the ball and a hard foul, hit more ball than anything, even nearly stuck his arms out for Payne as he flopped, and the refs were old Dan Majerle fans or something, because that F2 shouldn't have been called. Would it have mattered much? I believe so, in this game, because Denver has come back before. Would it matter as far as the series is concerned? No, but so what? Even if you're not rooting for either team, you want a great series.
  4. No Conley for Games 1 and 2, yet the Jazz roll over the Clips behind Mitchell's 45 and 37. Not much to say other than the fact that the Clippers do not have an answer for Mitchell, and I have no idea why Pat Bev is even playing. He gives you fouls and bad shots. Twenty minutes, and you get 0/5 shooting and 4 fouls, overrated defense, and wasted time that could've gone to someone else.
  5. Middleton FINALLY stepped his game up. He and Giannis had 68 points and 29 boards together, which is basically everything that the Bucks had. It wasn't much of a game if you love offense. They shot a combined 14/63 from downtown, lol. Just an ugly game. We'll see how the Nets will respond in Game 4. Tucker was all over KD, probably for trash talking because of a foul, so I'm sure Durant is seeking revenge.
  6. Hey buddy! Glad to see you here. I thought I banned you? Jk...maybe a couple times, though. Yeah, it's pretty cool to see everyone's old posts, and when you run across certain people or posts, you remember things about them. Welcome back!
  7. The Bucks are getting their asses handed to them. It's 65-41 at the half. Wow.
  8. That just makes me feel bad for you Knicks fans. I really was rooting for you to advance, although I kinda wanted to see Trae Young in the second round, also.
  9. I don't see why he didn't take the Luka assignment earlier. Maybe it was a coaching decision? They attempted to put Beverley on him, lmao...awful decision. I think Kawhi should've stepped in and demanded it, but I suppose I really don't have a clue what happened there. Plus, I know Dallas continually set screens for Luka, but the Clippers willingly switched almost every time, and I didn't understand why. Against Utah, it has to be different. I'm assuming PG will handle Mitchell, but what happens if Conley catches fire?
  10. Yeah, and Jokic averaged 26/14/8 on 31/61 FG (51%) against the Suns this season. He had trouble shooting the ball (he's typically a 57% shooter), but when you're putting up those kind of numbers scoring, rebounding and passing, you're dominating the opposing team. I was going to say that Phoenix could attempt to get him into foul trouble with Ayton, but Joker didn't foul out a single game this season, and he had five fouls in only five games. And that's coming from a big man that's usually aggressive on the offensive end, and not quite known for his defense. He had five fouls and played 30 minutes against the Suns in their very first game against each other, but he also nearly had a triple-double with 17/9/11, so...
  11. IMO, Porzingis is a roadblock for the Mavericks. As long as they feed him the ball, even though he's scoring 20/9 a night (just 13/5 in the playoffs), he kills the flow of the offense. Plus, we all know the ball needs to be in Doncic's hands. The fact that KP just said that he feels more like an afterthought than a co-star...I mean, he doesn't understand he's the Robin of the team, which isn't so bad if you're a contender. If you can't accept your role, it's probably time for you to find another one somewhere else.
  12. Exactly. He lived up to his MVP consideration. I can't tell you how many times I questioned injuries this year, especially for the Nets.
  13. I think he was definitely headed out the door if they did lose that series, especially after going down 0-2. In fact, I think the Clips would be in the same situation if they lost this next series to the Jazz, if it goes just 4-5 games.
  14. Luka Magic pushed this to seven, and I can't believe his effort: 46 points and 14 assists. They lost, but I think Luka proved to everyone that he's here, and I can argue he's a top three player at this very moment. The Clippers looked pretty good today, as much as it pains me to say it. They went on a 24-4 run, and 20-point turnaround after being down 5, to go up 15 before letting their foot off the gas and almost letting Luka back in. Tough out for the Mavs, but they are one piece away (how about trading Porzingis?) from being a contender.
  15. After watching the Clippers struggle against the Mavericks in the first round, I can't imagine them beating the Jazz. Between Mitchell, Conley, Clarkson and Gobert, there's a lot of offense, and the Clippers may have the perimeter defense, but who's defending Gobert? He's known for his defense, but he's also giving the Jazz 17 points a night. In their series of three regular season games, both Kawhi and George missed the second one. which was an 18-point win for the Jazz. In the third, it took five players scoring 15+ points, including Kawhi's 29, and Serge Ibaka playing defense on Gobert, to win the game by just four points. Kawhi had 5 to Mitchell's 17 in that 4th quarter, and it came down to making free throws for the Clippers (and they did) to end the game. Something that surprised me was that the Jazz attempt more threes than anyone else in the NBA. They also make nearly 39% of them. They are the best rebounding team, and they defend shots (both twos and threes) 2nd best in the league. How does that sound to the Clippers? Not so good. They are awful at getting to the line, and they aren't a great rebounding team (although they keep their opponents off the glass -- they are 1st in 3PT% and top five in FG%, so it's hard to rebound a made basket). All things considered, I'm taking the Jazz in six games. I see guys like Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris being the x-factors in the series, being able to hit wide open shots, but I also think the Clippers will need to attack the rim immediately, to put Gobert to work, even if it costs them a few points to start the game. Remove him from the equation, and Utah becomes extremely vulnerable in the paint. Otherwise, they are going to war against a team that is ranked better on both ends of the court, against a star in Mitchell that has far, far more help than Luka Doncic did in the first round and the Clippers will need every bit of Kawhi and PG to get the job done.
  16. This might be the best series yet. Phoenix and Denver have had three REALLY GOOD games this year, the three times they played. Two of those games went into OT, which one of those hit 2OT. I can't imagine any of these being boring. Phoenix does a lot of things really well on the offensive end. They make shots, second-best in the league. They make free throws, second-best. They pass the ball to get the best shot possible, protect it with minimal turnovers, and because they tend to find the open man, they are rarely getting their shots blocked (first in the league). Denver? They come back. For some unknown reason, the Nuggets seem to play their best basketball when they are down. Last season, that was the case, and this year, it's no different. Without Jamal Murray and Will Barton, guys like Michael Porter Jr. have stepped their game up, and Austin Rivers, who was traded six times and waived by the Suns and Thunder during his career, found a starting role on a contender out West. For the Nuggets, everything operates out of the post. Once the post entry pass goes to Nikola Jokic, he either forces the double and jump starts the offense, or he utilizes an array of moves to get a good look at the rim. Do they do anything great? Not as much as the Suns, but they are first in the league at keeping their opponents off the glass, and they do hit their shots as well. As for my prediction, I think Denver takes the series in six, knowing that Chris Paul has been having shoulder problems. Deandre Ayton had it easy against the Lakers; he'll find it tougher to defend Jokic when the time comes. If CP3 is healthy, I would probably take the Suns in seven, simply because he's incredibly tough to defend, not knowing if he's facilitating or looking to score at any point during the game.
  17. After today's win, I think the Hawks could make this a long series. Would I have said that yesterday? Nope! My original pick was the Sixers in six games, and I'll stick to that. My new, unofficial pick? Sixers in seven. Trae Young has to turn human at some point. He had a couple of games against the Knicks where he struggled to shoot a little, and I can see that happening again, but the Sixers will capitalize on it (unlike New York). We found out, really quick, that nobody can defend Joel Embiid when he gets a foot into the paint. Barbeque chicken. His drop step alone puts him in a position to go up with it, but he can add an Olajuwon flare to his pump fakes, and he can also fade away from the basket and take a high-percentage jumper. Defensively, I think Atlanta will have their hands full, and I believe that's where they will lose the series. If Ben Simmons doesn't miss 7/10 free throws, and if the team learns how to defend the three (20 made threes by the Hawks, just 10 by Philly), the results would've been different.
  18. First game tonight...should be fun to watch. The Bucks have an elite defense centered around Giannis, but Jrue Holiday could be the most important player on the floor, as the Bucks' best perimeter defender. Brooklyn will come out attacking, looking to get Giannis into foul trouble, and there's no doubt KD, Harden and Kyrie will rack up at least 60 points together. Milwaukee is a great rebounding team, and they can run up the point total as much as the Nets can. Brooklyn is the most efficient team in the NBA, with the Bucks not far behind. The Bucks are top 10 on both sides of the ball, but the Nets have a lot to work on defensively. I know I said the Nets would win the championship, but I was basing it off paper at the start of the season, before I watched them and before they decided to play just 8 regular season games together. Teams that struggle to rebound and defend usually end up on vacation when the Finals roll around. The Nets may have the offense to overcome it, but for me, the Bucks look like the better overall team. I'll take Bucks in six. If they have to go seven games, it'll end up in Brooklyn's lap on their home floor, and I don't see that going well for the Bucks.
