  1. Yeah, I'll watch the Raiders for an hour and a half...but that's the cut off. I want to watch football badly, but priority #1 is basketball.
  2. ALL OF YOU are required to watch this game. You can watch football for an hour and a half, but be sure you have it on ESPN at 2:30 PM ET. No exceptions. I mean it.
  3. I was a senior in high school. I walked into the school at around 7:50 and teachers were directing us to go to our seminar classes (they were standing out by their doors, and kept looking at the TV's in the room). Seminar was like a home base where we would do homework and sign out to visit teachers, and every classroom had a TV hooked up for us to view a high school channel called Channel ONE. Well, I went to the class and sat down, and the people that were in there were just sitting, weren't talking, just shocked and watching the TV. We sat there for about 10 minutes, and saw the second plane hit. Pretty scary. Bush announced that they were due to terrorist attacks sometime after that, and then the plane hit the Pentagon. That event actually put the school on lock-down (wasn't that we were thinking we'd be attacked, but our school's security was always a little off the wall to begin with). About an hour later, the first tower collapsed, and I'd say about 15 minutes after that, our Principal announced that we were to be released from school. Came home and watched the rest unfold, didn't even move from the TV most of the morning or afternoon. More angry than scared, really...but devastated is probably the perfect word for it.
  4. The missed threes were killer at the end. At one point, you guys were 12-23 from downtown, I believe, and you missed your last six threes. I was rooting for Serbia, especially after the fake eye injury (good way to not miss both free throws). He was poked in the eye, but he wasn't stabbed. Plus, I never liked Hedo to begin with. Time to put Turkey in the freezer and shut the door on them.
  5. TIME: 2:30 PM ET TV: ESPN Re-air at 7:00 PM ET, ESPN2 Game can also be viewed on http://www.espn3.com.
  6. We got you, Slaven. SICK game, though...one of the best I've seen in FIBA tourney history.
  7. Neither team is really athletic. I was more concerned with Turkey, but after watching this first half, they have a lot of holes. It's the first time I've actually seen them play. Serbia will need to use up all of their fouls on Team USA, if they advance, and they'll need to move the ball a little better. They rely on that three a bit too much, and they work their shots out from plays made at the top of the key more than anything else. Not much deep into the post.
  8. It's on right now. http://www.espn3.com http://www.atdhe.net/23393/watch-serbia-vs-turkey
  9. LOL...that wasn't actually proven, though, right? I thought I read somewhere that it was just a rumor someone spread on Twitter about West.
  10. Odom is a beast. In international play, at least.
  11. Why does Billups take the 24-foot three with 17-18 seconds left on the shot clock? He just stands there with the ball, looking at the defender, then takes the three. He's done that at least twice in every game.
  12. Magic Johnson made way too many pinpoint, accurate and impressive passes for me to ignore. I can't toss him to the side just because he didn't set the record for career assists, either, since he didn't play as long as Stock. Stockton made a lot of nice passes, but Magic had more ball control to pull off fakes and passes Stockton has never attempted, notably on the break.
  13. Kobe and Jordan will run away with this. I would also love to see Shaq play Kareem.
  14. http://i52.tinypic.com/zlvzx2.jpg I remember earlier comments where he said he wanted to be a Cavalier for life, but actually stating that he doesn't want to go ring-chasing...haha, that's crazy. Things change, of course...but I figured our Cavaliers fans would like to save this to their computer, make it their background on their desktop, and create shirts with it to wear to the December game against Miami. I dunno.
  15. Seriously? Purvis Short takes this, easily. Best Season: 28.0 PPG on 46% FG, 5.1 RPG, 3.0 APG, 1.5 SPG Career: 17.3 PPG on 47.4% FG, 4.3 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.0 SPG http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/shortpu01.html
  16. The grades aren't necessarily given based on the caliber of players, but what you did to fill your needs. Otherwise, the best teams from 2009-10 would be getting some of the worst grades, due to not being able to sign a superstar free agent or make a big trade they really don't need. LA filled every hole in their roster, every weakness, from defense at the point to backup three (Walton is done), to legit backup PF (Powell is trash) and getting rid of our non-triangle players. Realistically, the off-season couldn't have gone any better for us.
  17. LA retained Shannon. LA brought back Phil Jackson as well...and Blake is basically a starter, not to mention they landed two of the top 10-15 rookies in the draft in the second round.
