Let's try and bring this back. All winning signatures will be added to the OTR Signature Gallery, which should be completed by the end of the month (maybe earlier). Theme: Retired NBA Players Size: 468x140 or less Deadline: Friday, January 22nd, 2010 (one week) The text "OTR" or "OTRBasketball" must be visible somewhere on the signature. Please upload to a host other than Photobucket (to prevent others from seeing who created the signature using the URL). Also, do not post your signature anywhere else, or tell anyone who created it, until the contest is over. Doing so will make you ineligible for the competition. Lastly, PM all entries to me before the deadline. One entry per member. Good luck to all participants!

Did you ever consider Arenas an elite player?
Real Deal replied to B-Marsh>R-Moss's topic in General NBA Discussion
Either that, or be good at almost everything else (like Steve Nash). Arenas is a scorer, finds his teammates good...and that's about it. Someone like Nash scores and shoots very good, throws amazing passes, works the team game better than most, runs the offense perfectly, and gets to the rim much better than Arenas. Very few cases where an elite player doesn't play defense, though. I'd consider Nash one case, the prime Shaq another. -
Felonies are grounds for contract termination, I believe.

By the way, since my local news comes out of Tulsa, Oklahoma...I got to hear a few news anchors POUNDING the Knicks into the ground, and there were even a couple of channels that interviewed others on the streets of OKC, who just laughed at what the Knicks claimed.

Yes, Dee would know. Same here. That's just some made-up crap that has been going around forever now (about the haunting and why it takes place). If anyone actually knew the story, they'd also know that there was never anyone that worked there under the name of the girl that supposedly haunts it (and was killed there). People stay in it all the time, also. I think Curry just wanted to sleep with Nate.

Things You Hate That Your Team Does.....
Real Deal replied to MainEv3nt's topic in General NBA Discussion
I hate when Phil plays Fisher in the starting five, and I can't stand when he puts Kobe in the game with some of the worst lineups possible, despite his mangled hand. -
I don't see why Cleveland just doesn't pound the ball inside early, have LeBron lay off for a while and help defend Deron's penetrations (because he's more likely able to destroy Cleveland better than anyone else), then take over in the second and fourth quarters, when Shaq is most likely sitting in foul trouble.

All-Star, yes. Elite as in a superstar, such as Kobe, Wade and LeBron? Never. -

They are saying 40-50,000 on Fox and MSNBC. -
If any of you GFX designers have nothing better to do, please consider making a few signatures promoting OTR. They can be your typical signature of a player, but with the addition of "OTRBasketball" in the corner. OR...they can just promote OTR, no player...anything. Just please make sure they are 468x140. I will be adding them to our new gallery soon (or you'll be able to add them, once everything is installed and in place).

Wow, I just went through all five pages. Where's everyone at? I need to take new pictures. I never do.

Well, one idea was to expand the college bball forums, but after considering just how many I'd have to add if I went by conferences, I need to re-think my strategy. Any suggestions relating to that? There's no way every team gets a forum, and I'm probably ruling out adding a forum for each conference (it would be like adding 30 more NBA teams, and plus, I'm not sure if all conferences would have topics in them). College gameday? Player comparisons? I don't really know.

That's when it was dislocated. He doesn't play with it literally hanging there, no...but he does get them popped back in, goes out and keeps playing. I dislocated my pinkie on my shooting hand (same one in the picture), and I didn't play basketball for weeks. It would hurt so bad shooting, even though I don't use my pinkie in my shot (just for support).

Actually, I just don't hang off of dudes' jocks when they are playing badly, and Rose was doing that for the first handful of games. He eventually stepped his game up. Hinrich plays excellent defense. Just because he didn't defend Kobe well doesn't make him an asset to any backcourt. Nobody has been able to lock up Bryant yet. Chicago has a couple of talented players in Noah and Hinrich. It's Rose's responsibility, as the point guard and franchise player, to run plays for them. Both Joakim and Kirk earn it on the defensive end, more than ANYONE else on the Bulls' roster, including Rose. Derrick is a good offensive player. Noah and Kirk are probably top three most important on that team because of their ability to play defense. No hate, just common sense after watching Chicago on WGN every night they play.

Kobe dagger, after just chilling the entire game. Feels good to win games we shouldn't be winning.
-
Man, Ron is in beast mode, and so is Drew. Kobe is playing very, very cautious out there, which is good...but he really needs to take it easy the entire game, and not just in spurts. Odom has been chucking.

Have you actually posted on other message boards before (for basketball)? Your name looks familiar, for some reason. Are you in your early 20's?
-
Welcome to the best. If any of the guys give you trouble, find a staff member. As you can see, and with most all basketball message boards, we are overloaded with male posters. Good to have another Bulls fan here.

Should the NBA Adjust All-Star Selection Process?
Real Deal replied to Check my Stats's topic in General NBA Discussion
If the NBA continues fan voting for the starting five, they need to restrict proxies and put a limit of one vote per IP address, per season. Voting numbers will drastically fall, but you won't have idiots thinking, "Hey, Kobe and Wade are locks...so let's leave them out and vote McGrady and Iverson every single day." -
I'm not sure if it's the contract they care about (meaning, they are trying to avoid). He'll be making $12 million next year, but it expires after that. I think it's more to do with having a player on the Rockets that will back up Yao, and the question is, will Dalembert even accept that role? He's a weird dude...and I really don't think he's that good of a player to begin with.

Blake Griffin done for the season.
