  1. Who's in your top 5? Here's my list: 1. Gasol 2. Duncan 3. Al Jefferson 4. Garnett 5. Bogut But I think when Yao is healthy, he's top 3 easily.

  3. I love this song, been in my rotation for a long time now.
  4. If it takes Gallinari in order to get Melo, they have to do this. The goal is to create a contender in NY, they have been in the gutter since Ewing retired. They need some hope in the city, Paul is already interested in the Knicks, Melo will be there, Tony Parker will be a free agent, and Rubio will be off his rookie contract soon and has expressed some interest in playing in a larger market. Hell I'll also say a guy like Deron Williams may push management harder if he doesn't like what he see's in Utah. There is not a single player more interested in NY as Melo, go get him now.
  5. Carlos Rodgers has a better chance of catching an interception than Willie does coming back and making an impact on an NFL team.
  6. Looking forward to a new season of Caps hockey. We gotta focus on defense this year. Hopefully Varlamov doesn't miss too much time, but Michal Neuvirth has been looking terrific out there for us in the preseason. The biggest problem I've noticed from him is that when he's playing bad, he's playing BAD. Luckily you get a lot more good than bad from him, but when he has an "off" night, you're going to notice it. Should be another great season, was tough the way it ended last season in the playoffs.
  7. I watched almost every game I possibly could of him last year at Kentucky, and I knew he'd be a great player. But I'm still in shock, he's such an extraordinary player, especially watching him live in person. I think him being around guys like Gilbert, Kirk, Flip, and Sam Cassell will help him tremendously throughout his career. I think he fits the mold of a Rondo type player (with more potential) than a Derrick Rose. I think John already has Derrick beat on a few things- court vision, speed, and defense. He's going to be a top 3 defensive PG real soon, and will probably be near the top in APG. He's also a decent scorer, his jumper looks solid, obviously it needs a ton of work, but I like the mechanics of his shot and have been saying this since I saw him first play at Kentucky, his work ethic and dedication to the game will make him an above average jump shooter. In 2 years or so, we will be hearing John's name being mentioned with the likes of Paul and Williams.
  8. Rumors were that the Packers offered the Giants a 4th round pick in exchange for Jacobs....I don't see why NY would do that considering how good they have been looking as of late.
  9. Yeah, we have a mature community, I don't see cursing being a huge issue. And I agree, just keep the N word censored.
  10. What bothers me more than anything is that even with the number of injuries that have occurred this season and in years past, the league still wants to extend the regular season to 18 games.... It seems to me that if the NFL is trying to protect its' players, they they need to reduce the amount of games played, not increase it. An 18 game season defies all logic and makes the league look hypocritical. And as to what Steve Young has said earlier, it's not just about the helmet to helmet hit. It's about altering the perception of what you're seeing (thus, the reason for the"devastating hit" idea in the new rules). They are forcefully taking out the violent nature of the game, even if the hits aren't causing an injury of any kind, the perceived notion is that it's barbaric or overly aggressive. I actually appreciate and love the hard hitting nature of the game and don't want this to happen to the game.
  11. lol hes ok in my book

  12. The Rangers could have been up 3-0....Yankees need to wake up and make a statement tomorrow. Absolutely got dominated tonight, possibly the worst game they have played this year.
  13. Read more: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/69618/20101018/jamison_likely_to_come_off_bench/#ixzz12ls8miI3 Jamison is set to make 28 million over the next 2 years.. Are the Cavs making this move because they know there's no way Jamison increases his trade value after his poor performance in the playoffs? If I were them, I'd start him, he's still a 20-9 guy as the main option, who knows what can happen then... Maybe he can raise his value or at least lead the Cavs to a respectable record.
  14. Bulls have a real post presence in Boozer, will more than likely be a better defensive team, and have a superstar in the making in Rose. I don't necessarily think the Hawks are overrated, but I don't have much confidence in them. Bulls should be able to win more in the regular season and do more damage in the playoffs.
  15. I always want the weekend to play out in the most beneficial way for the Skins. So as a Skins fan, I want the Cowboys to win plus a win for us against the Bears. At this point, I'm not worried about Dallas, they are not threatening our chances of winning the division or making the playoffs as much as New York is. As much as it pains me to say this, go Cowboys..... -_-
  16. Can't believe I didn't see this when I had posted it earlier...but I guess I'll post it here to generate more discussion. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmonsnfl2010/101015&sportCat=nba Turner responds on Twitter by saying: Does anyone see any logic behind Bill Simmons comparison? I really like Simmons, but wow... Turner is much more skilled than Morrison. He's not only a terrific scorer, but a great playmaker.
  17. After the Knicks game last night, Flip Saunders was asked if he thought there was a faster guy with the ball in his hands than John Wall. He replied by saying "I don't think so, no.." Who do you think is the fastest player with the ball in his hands? The first player that comes to mind (other than Wall) is Rondo.
  18. Let's also take into account that you need the right personnel for that specific coach. See the situation in Washington. Shanahan comes in, calls up Haslett and asks him to run the 3-4, now our defense is worse than last year's.
  19. A coach is worth a first rounder for sure, probably more. It's what separates a team like the Cowboys from a team like the Pats. The only exception to this is the Colts because they essentially have a player/coach in Peyton Manning. I do believe coaching is much more important in football (not just pro football but college as well) than in baseball, basketball, or hockey...and it really is not close. Most say football games are not won on Sundays, but during the week leading up to the game. I completely support that. Identifying and exploiting weaknesses of an opponent, and to deploy his own resources to exploit those weaknesses is the difference between a winner and a loser most of the time. I remember one reporter asked Steve Spurrier when he was coaching the Skins if he saw anything in upcoming opponent's defenses that he thought he could exploit. He went on to say "No we don't really pay too much attention to what they're doing, we just worry about what we're doing..." I knew from that point that we were not going to be successful under him.
  20. Solid game by us. An inch here or there and it's a different outcome. We held our own against a good team tonight. Kinda upset we're third in the division, but it's whatever. We need to fire Haslett though, this defense is just not working. We got lucky on those turnovers, we're giving up too much yards. Colts averaged around 78ypg with the run entering tonight, and we gave them over 160.....pretty pathetic. Something has to be done, I'm so used to our offense struggling but our defense holding their own, it's the exact opposite (actually, our offense is struggling.... so I really don't know what to give credit to here).
  21. Yeah I understand that he could have hit him without completely leveling Desean, but it's in the heat of the moment, sometimes you just can't control your actions. And while it looked like he was leading with his helmet, he did in fact hit him with his shoulder. So how was he defenseless? That's what I'm wondering. he caught the ball, the ball was in play, and was eligible to get tackled.
  22. ...but the point is he did have the ball in his hands, and as soon as a receiver is in contact with the ball, a defender is allowed to hit him.
