Most disappointing team this season?
AboveLegit replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
Wizards..when you have the biggest Wizards hater, Real Deal, saying we're a potential 50 win team, you know we're a disappointment. -
But at the same time if we had traded him to Philly, our defense wouldn't nearly be as good as it looks now on paper. He provides opportunities for guys like Orakpo and Fletcher to sneak past defenses and get sacks. He's valuable to the team despite what he's making per year. Doesn't really matter either because well, it is Snyder that is paying him, so I could careless.
-
What? This is our first big name/Pro Bowl QB since uhmmmmm Joe Theisman? This is a huge deal for the Skins.
-
If there was a clearcut franchise QB prospect I would say select him, but I don't see that player in this draft. I feel like taking Bradford or Clausen #1 would be a huge reach and similar to SF selecting Alex Smith #1 overall a few years back. The front office and I definitely did not see eye to eye here, I was under the assumption that we were going to build ourselves into a contender through the draft, we didn't go through our yearly spending spree, we didn't overpay anyone, it just seemed like we had a new perspective this year. Then here we are, bringing in a 33 year old QB who NO ONE thought would be in DC. Obviously Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen think we can make it to the playoffs, it's not a long shot here. The Giants are going no where fast, the Eagles are looking like a 7 win team (pending on how the transition to the fulltime starting QB effects Kolb), and the Cowboys are defeatable with our defense. Last year we held the Boys to a TD and a FG, no more no less. Our defense could be one of the best in the league, now we bring in a developing O-line, a pro bowl QB, a healthy receiving corps (plus a top 5 TE in Cooley), we can make the playoffs if everything goes right. Of course, this is just speculation here, I'm just bringing up all the positives here, with DC sports, anything can happen.

No, clearly the management here thinks we can make it to the playoffs. In essence, it isn't a long shot, nor is this deal worth regretting. Think about it, we're a top 5 defense, we haven't lost anyone on that side of the ball, Orakpo will only get better, and this transition to the 3-4 isn't all that bad considering how versatile Brian is. On offense, we will try to build our line over the draft, hopefully we trade Campbell for a few future picks, and possibly sign a player or trade for a WR to give mcNabb a few options on offense. We also signed Parker and Johnson to help out the backfield and hopefully motivate Portis, that's a win-win. But like I said, I don't want to get my hopes up, I just have a feeling our front office is going to put us in a fair position to win this year.

I'm excited, but I won't get ahead of myself like I do every year, my teams always find a way to disappoint me. I am actually okay with this move. I see the Skins moving Campbell out of town for a pick or two this year and I wouldn't be at all shocked if they still drafted a QB to learn under McNabb...instead of Campbell. McNabb is a mobile QB from a WC system, and has been at the helm of an offense that is more productive than ours on a yearly basis. Also, everybody is exaggerating the future impact of McNabb's rib injury. It is a painful injury that will heal completely. He will be absolutely fine next year with regards to the health of his ribs. Interesting move. Definitely taking a wait and see approach.

Yeah that was another amazing story. It's people like this that need to be recognized more. I hope he has a great career in the NBA.
-
Can't stand Duke, at all. I feel so sorry for De'Sean Butler, horrible ending to an outstanding 4 year career. I've gained so much respect for him after hearing about the amount of work he puts in both academically and on the court.
-
Damn good game so far, but outside of Mack and Hayward, we're not seeing Butler produce on offense.

We always hear analysts and former players talking about playoff teams ending the regular season strong to gain as much momentum as they possibly can in time for the playoffs. Many believe it helps give them that competitive edge, and that determination to win from the opening tip. How much does momentum factor into playoff success? If a lower seeded playoff team finished the regular season by winning 10 straight games and is facing a higher seeded team, what is the chances they end up winning? Interesting fact: The Golden State Warriors went 9-1 in their last ten games to finish off the regular season before playing in that historic series against the first placed Dallas Mavericks.

Nas & Damian Marley "Distant Relatives" Trailer
AboveLegit replied to MainEv3nt's topic in Music Forum
Can't wait for this, it's going to be so different from what Nas normally puts out. -
Personally, I don't see the point in paying for some [expletive]ty Hollinger articles obsessing over his pointless statistics. That and the fact that ESPN rarely puts out good, worthwhile articles. Most people have Insider as a result of a magazine subscription.

I think RD's getting ready for the playoffs, normally he would separate the playoff teams from the non playoff teams.

Illmatic- Nas It Was Written- Nas Paid in Full- Eric B. & Rakim All Eyez on Me- Tupac Black Star- Mos Def & Talib Kweli Black on Both Sides- Mos Def Quality Control- Jurassic 5 My favorite album this year was Us by Brother Ali.
-
Off the top of my head, Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Rakim are miles ahead of Hov. He's not in contention, he's no where near the level of those four I mentioned.
-
Lmao, the biggest load of BS I've seen on a forum in a long time. I don't know anyone more helpful and more caring than RD. Can't tell you how much he helped RST back in the day, and even BTA. I don't hesitate one bit when he asks me to give him access to the Admin CP on those forums. I've never actually heard anyone say [expletive] about Brandon though, and frankly, I can't imagine why anyone would.
-
Cudi actually has some substance in his lyrics, I'll go with him.
-
Lmao, you just lost all the credibility in the world by saying that... I'm done with this thread, to say Drake is one of the best out is either extremely pitiful for music, or just flat out wrong. Choose one.
-
My brother said the same thing, but me personally, I'm a little more open to bringing him back as long as the salary is small. He'd be a good asset off the bench, and resigning him would mean we get to focus on other areas in the draft.

He's staying a Wizard, no doubt.
