Can't wait to see Harden take 14 FT's and Derozan get hit just as much and shoot 4 or 6 free throws. If we win this I would be shocked. I almost hope this losing continues so that when OKC gets the 7th pick (which will turn out worse than Lowry, still a good trade, [expletive] off I'm not delusional... am I?) Bargnani is shipped off and Colangelo can hit the bricks. The OKC pick won't be any higher than 6th or 7th just because those other teams will be losing on purpose, while we are still trying to win... kind of like last year, except last year we had our pick.... Literally all i care about is how valanciunas plays.

40 year old rappers are in a lose-lose situation. they got nothing to rap about. jay raps about being rich, people bitch. raps about the hood, gets bitched even more. its like Em too, no one is gonna wanna listen to him rap about being broke, his mom, drugs, etc.. not defending this song, just saying. edit: then there's nas.

this song had no hope from the start.

Why are they running so many post ups... I just don't get it. You have two elite finishers and a top 3 passer... run a screen and roll once in a while Vinny. -

Al Farouq Aminu is an underrated, often forgotten piece in that CP3 deal. I think the kid has something to offer at this level. He's far from a minus on the court at least. Efficient, and a wicked rebounder at the 3. -

Andrea Bargnani's Historic Game

I don't think Gay was even in the discussion for first pick. Hence him falling to 8. Picking Bargs over Aldridge (when you consider his ties with Bosh too from Texas, I don't know how he wasn't first... I guess Colangelo just wanted to be innovative.. smh) being brutal I'll give you, but other than that... Its like saying we should have taken Rondo. The Bargs pick was just a victim of a bad draft. Considering the other top 5 picks (Morrison, Tyrus and Shelden) we walked away not too bad. I hate bargs and want him gone, but it was just a bad draft. I don't think Colangelo is the only one who was infatuated with Bargnani either, the difference is that another GM would have admitted the experiment failed, and dealt him this past summer at the absolute latest. If you put the exact same player as a prospect now, I guarantee you he is a top 3 pick. Just watch the videos of him when he was 19-20. Jan [expletive]ing Vesely is a top pick in this league. There is no denying that he was a tantalizing prospect, the problem has been in his development, or lack there of. -
Wow... I am still in support of Casey, I think he is a solid coach whose decisions have reasons beyond just the game itself, but this is [expletive]ed up. I can't wait to see Colangelo let go after this summer. Our coach shouldn't be playing certain players just because our snappy dressing GM is staring at him with his arms crossed tapping his foot. I've tried to rationalize Colangelo's shit for too long. He needs to go, 7 years of mediocrity as our ceiling, wasted dollar after wasted dollar and stubbornness beyond belief, get the [expletive] out. I hate Bargs, but he does have uses. Our offense is better with him than without, but if he is having the worst shooting performance of any Raptor ever, he's gotta sit. Sorry. But yeah, this is getting to the point of just being funny. 3-11 and i can't wait to hear the end of the season "we saw steps from Andrea" or "Injuries set us back" or"we lost more close games than any team in the league" bullshit we hear at every end of the season presser.

Also, if D'Antoni is only giving Dwight 10 shots a game, you think dude is gonna be in a hurry to sign that extension? This situation has the potential to get very messy. Still don't think it will, and shit gets turned around (without trades), but the potential is there. I guess I suffer from having 0 faith in Pringles, but it's not like I have no reason to have a lack of faith, do I?
-
D'Antoni is such a joke. EDIT: not based on this game. Memphis is a contender, no shame in losing by 8 to them in spite of you team's poor play. His treatment of players to the media has been, and seems will continue to be one of his worse qualities. Running is going to be a huge mistake, and trading Pau is going to be a huge mistake too, unless you get that Josh Smith deal done, by which point I will be 100% certain the league is rigged. Atlanta will be saving their cap to make a run at Dwight and CP3, not taking on more salary (for an arguably inferior player). [expletive], you guys might be staring down the pipe of a Dwight for Smith+Lou sign and trade this summer, how scary is that?

Just brutal lol just brutal. No blaming the refs for this one. Our offense is so painful to watch, we literally never get easy buckets, meanwhile Bargnani butchers every screen and roll defensively and still has no clue what help is. 2 stats I would like to see: 1. Bargnani's percentages on catch and shoots opposed to isolations. Obviously most players probably shoot better off catch and shoots, but I bet he shoots literally 2 and a half times better or something like that. Also, something Ive noticed, when he is in the triple threat, at the elbow or further, his right foot is often his pivot foot. Anyone find that odd? When I play, I tend to prefer my left foot be my pivot, so my right is free. Maybe it's just me, I feel like most guys would rather have their strong foot free. It makes his release look awkward, and flat at times. In other words, why the [expletive] do we run iso's for him? Especially at the elbow? His low post game is actually not half bad, but his face up game is actually ridiculous, half the time its a miss, a quarter of the time he makes it, the other quarter he winds up getting called for a charge. 2. Opposing team's conversion rates running a screen and roll against Bargs. Literally would not surprise me if this number was > 75%
-
Lin shouldnt be a surprise, I tried to tell you guys for the past 3 months.

Just brutal. It sucks, can't tell if he is around for some extra cash or if he really just can't sit around without playing the game - could be a bit of both I guess. That's why I don't think Kobe will retire until dude physically cannot play - these guys really don't know anything else, its been basketball basketball basketball since they were 15, 16 years old. It sucks to see guys who are a shell of their old selves, but to sit here and say walk away like its so easy, I think that is just ignorant. Definitely would love to see the guy become a coach though. Surely some team would hire him on as an assistant and let him work his way up. He seems like a heady player, and the guy is in his mid 20's, has a ton of time to learn that side of the game. If he is really that passionate about the game, that's the only answer really. Also I hope no one feels bad for the Wolves in this situation. It was stupid of them to give him so much money when it was so obvious that there was no chance of this working out for them. The Blazers had no choice in the money they gave him, he was a top 15 player and any other team who could have offered that money would have. The Wolves though? Nope, just a bad, bad move.

This whole situation is so [expletive]ed up. I'd love to sit here and say I won't be as big a fan, but I doubt it'll happen. One thing is for sure though, I was definitely a Leafs fan first last year, and maybe that had something to do with the fact the Leafs were decent and the Raps were bordering on unwatchable, but I am definitely going to be a bigger Raps fan than Leafs (like I was for most of the past 7 years or so), and the team is still pretty brutal as long as Bargnani is there. This whole thing is ridiculous. It is insane how close they seem, but how far apart they act. Both sides are so stubborn it seems, and the owners know the fans will come back. I really do think this lockout is going to affect the league more than the owners think though. I do think sponsors will be affected (who the [expletive] wants to pay premiums when the league stops every 5-10 years), and I feel like growth will be affected long term, maybe not in the near future, but I doubt we see the 5% growth like we were the past few years. It's just really frustrating as a fan. This shouldn't have come to this. Players should have conceded the 50-50 right away, owners have to honour those contracts, they have to. Its so ignorant for them to try and weasel their way out of them. Players have to concede contract term limits, every other league has them. The solution is right in front of their faces, but I feel like both sides are too arrogant and too stubborn to get there. The good thing is that the Leafs are going to sign Getzy and Perry in the summer, so this season was kind of a throw away anyways.

Melo developing a heart? Kobe playing MVP basketball and randomly deciding he doesn't want to settle for contested 18 footers anymore and taking more shots at the rim than he has maybe ever in his career? Seriously, look at his shot chart, it is nothing short of amazing, if you compared the last 5 years to his shots this year, you'd think you were looking at 2 different players, his production right now is actually very sustainable, unlike someone like OJ Mayo who is just super hot right now. http://www.hoopdata.com/player.aspx?name=Kobe%20Bryant Memphis looking elite? Kemba? Raptors sucking? Just kidding, who is really surprised other than us delusional Raps fans. Batum rounding into an all-star? Bosh turning into Miami's second best player? What has surprised you most so far about an 8th of the way into this season? For me it is Kobe. I can't wait to watch them play Memphis tonight, I might watch that instead of the Raptors game. I still wonder how his role is going to change once Nash comes back, they can't just use him as a spot up shooter when he is playing like this. Kemba Walker is right there for me too. The kid can play, and he is quick as [expletive], he literally ran down the court and beat the entire Raptors team for a layup... not a huge achievement, but still lightning quick.

Wish I lived in the states, or had my passport (expired). I've been wanting to buy a tv for a while, and there are some okay deals around here right no, but I am waiting until I can steal one for an amazing price. I don't really need one, but if I can get a sick tv at a sick price, I'll jump at it. Its weird though, they are starting to kind of do black friday in Canada now, like literally saying they are doing 'black friday sales', which I can't remember many places doing. About time, its pretty stupid not to, everyone knows about it and tons of people probably go to the states for it. The prices probably aren't nearly as good, but there are some pretty good deals here at clothing retailers especially. Electronic deals aren't that great though from what I have seen. Hopefully prices will get driven down if this year was a success and stores keep doing black friday type shit.

Wow... from the NBA's website. This an even bigger kick in the nuts.

I hate seeing people bitch about refs, but we've gotten the shaft just about every game. Watching Demar all year, and Lowry the too, get whacked hard, even to the ground, and get no whistle, its depressing really, especially since we need all the breaks we can get. And then seeing the ticky tack calls on Jonas all year is pretty stupid too. Last night's officiating actually wasn't as bad as usual, the refs were pretty bad both ways last night. It shouldn't have even come to that Bargs foul because Lowry shouldn't have given up that wide open mid range shot he had. He's gotta take that.

Memphis: contender or pretender?
Check my Stats replied to Abro's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
They aren't led by Rudy Gay. That's the thing. If you insist on someone being the "lead" player on this team, I can't see it being anyone other than Gasol. I am honestly surprised you would call consider Gay to be leading this team. If anything, they are winning in spite of his so-so play offensively thus far. What is their glaring weakness? They have good perimeter defense, hit the glass hard, 2 quick points who can both penetrate and find open shooters, I guess interior defense can be a question mark since Randolph is brutal in his own end, and Marc can be slow footed at times. Tony Allen and Conley are both plus defenders, especially Allen, and Gay is athletic and can cover ground. Floor spacing and rim protection are my two biggest question marks. Gay still tends to stop the ball at times, but his efficiency continues to increase. When Bayless is your best shooter, that is a definite concern too. I don't consider them the favourites, that title is still reserved for the Lakers. But I put them right there with the Clippers, if not ahead of them. Top 10 offensive and defensive deficiency = lots of wins. -
