Deron is gone if Dwight isn't coming. The whole world could hear Mark Cuban laughing sinisterly as the news broke that Dwight is staying; Deron is as good as a Mav now. Unless New Jersey can trade their pick this year for a stud like they did with Deron last year (but they also gave Favors), they are [expletive]ed. The problem is, who gives good value for Deron now, knowing he is probably gone? That was an incredibly short sighted move by New Jersey last year, they mortgaged their future in the hope that hypotheticals would work out. New Jersey's biggest problem was that Deron and Dwight apparently weren't as good as friends as LBJ, Wade and Bosh.

This whole situation is absolutely hilarious, and making it even more hilarious is the fact that REALGM broke the story of him finally deciding to opt in, could this shit get any more crazy? I think the way things are now is that Dwight opts in, Orlando has this deadline to get pieces around him, and the off-season (draft time, fa etc).. if they don't Dwight tells them he is leaving at the end of next year... this gives them almost a full year to put a competent cast around him, which I think is fair, as well as impossible because Otis Smith is retarded (sorry if anyone is offended by this term but it just seems too appropriate for me).

Nope. He was only really elite/all-star status for 6-8 years depending on your definitions of those 2 terms. I think longevity should be a huge consideration unless you do really special things within a short period (ala Steve Nash, 2 MVP's). The fact he is viewed as a career loser (whether that is fair or not is whole other can of worms) definitely doesn't help either. I think he should get some consideration, but his lack of team success combined with his short prime are too much for me to consider him a hall of famer. Maybe if he nabbed an MVP or two, or had some deep playoff runs, he would have a shot, but since he hasn't, I am going to go with no.

This whole story just makes dwight seem like a 2-faced coward. Wants to opt in when in front of teammates, but then doesn't? Stop being a bitch and decide what you want.

The fact that teams just shop around legends like this makes me sick to my stomach. If I am Paul PIerce, I am livid right now.

Honestly anyone in the top 4 of Drummond, Davis, Barnes or MKG would be awesome, especially if we could nab another mid first rounder and try to pick up Marshall (Ed Davis + could be a nice deal for someone). Barnes fits so good with our current core, but the chance at Drummond or Davis would be amazing even at the expense of a big or two, those are the main 3 I want. It is so important that we stay in the top 3-4 picks this year, if we don't then this whole things goes to shit.

Melo isn't a cancer, he was winning 50+ games yearly with the Nuggets. I don't think personnel is the main issue here as much as it is the coach, except I would cut JR Smith. Your answer to everything can't be "we need more spacing, and just more effort". Absolutely garbage coach, been saying it since before he left Phoenix. Get a new coach in there after the season, and see what happens. A coach that will implement an ACTUAL system, not just space the floor and take turns shooting.

I seriously undervalued TJ in his time here, and it is criminal looking back how I viewed him. He was awesome for us, and was one of the few players who have had the ability to break down an offense from the wings for us. He averaged 14 and 8 for us in less than 30 mins the year we won 47 and was a huge factor for us, our point guard play with him and Jose was awesome. It really is a shame how this all turned out for him. If he doesn't get his neck snapped again who knows where he is now, as well as our franchise. I would kill to have a TJ Ford on this team now.

I get Felton is playing really bad, but Portland would be utterly stupid to do this deal. As bad as he has been this year, he is still playing (statistically speaking) basically as good as Steve blake EVER has, which is pretty sad. Some of the shit people come up with, honestly...
