  1. I'd be shocked if he didn't opt out. Money probably isn't a concern with him, I don't picture him leaving (doubt any team with necessary cap will be in a better situation than he has in Miami at that point), but I could definitely see him opting out, and being around 30, looking to get one more huge deal taking him until he is on the downswing of his career (mid 30's).
  2. Maybe you shouldn't have been a distraction from day 1, Dwight.
  3. Problem with Jose is that he wants the ball in his hands all the time, and while his stats are nice, the way he plays the game is pretty counter-productive at times. He tends to hold the ball for way too long, and has tunnel vision for the same player over and over - used to be Bosh, now it is Bargnani. And his inability to break guys down off the dribble or penetrate is something that holds him back for sure. But his strengths are very strong - terrific on the PnR, great shooter, terrible defender obviously but you could hide that on a team like LA. His need for the ball is why Hedo didn't work out. It really is a shame too, because he should be a terrific off the ball player because he is such a great shooter. I think he could be an amazing fit in LA, as long as Kobe, Mike Brown etc could ensure he wouldn't just stand around senselessly when he doesn't have the ball. Knicks fans, believe me he's not the answer; you think Jose freaking Calderon is going to manage a team with egos like that? Fat chance.
  4. Pau didn't pick anything, CP3 instigated all of that.
  5. Pacers are gonna have to let Hibbert walk if they want Gordon, which would be a huge mistake. Also have to re-sign George Hill as well.
  6. Bargs will never be a good rebounder, he doesn't crash the offensive glass nearly enough, which is understandable considering how far he plays from the basket. If he could average 6 defensive rebounds a game, I would consider that to be a success honestly. And as far as Bargnani's defense, anyone remotely educated regarding Bargnani knows that for the past 2-3 years, he has always been a solid defensive player in terms of man defense, it is his help defense (or lack there of) that hurts him. Especially in today's NBA, when centers are pretty much expected to be able to protect the rim. If the Bargnani we are seeing this year, is the Bargnani we are going to have moving forward, I honestly have absolutely no problem him remaining a Raptor (unless of course we can bring in Drummond or Davis, in which case gtfo). If Jonas is going to be the big it seems like, then Bargs should slot in nicely next to him. I have always been a huge Bargnani critic, but what we have seen from him this year has been nothing short of amazing relative to my expectations of him.
  7. 10k eh, that's a lot, give me a few more years.
  8. I always admire a player who is willing to put his team above all else in the face of injury, but you have the draw a line. If Deng can't help his team due to this injury, it isn't worth it. So I guess we will just have to wait and see. Also, anyone know how long he'd be out with the surgery?
  9. Honestly never questioned his defense. Yeah he isn't a rim protector, his weakside help is bad, but as a man defender, he has always been solid. It has always been a matter of effort, especially on the glass, that has been lacking. I bet most the leaders in this stat are bigs though, mostly due to the lack of quality bigs in the league who will give you mroe then barely double digits in points.
  10. This sucks, but long term it is for the best. We need Bargs to be this player next year, not this year. Casey needs to stop playing him so much, I understand he wants to win, but jesus.
  11. Stern probably gave him the shittiest offer ever, like 4 years 32M or something. You won't be able to bully your way around this one Stern, because someone is definitely signing him to a near-max offer sheet. I for one would love if Toronto amnestied Jose then maxed EG.
  12. Can't wait to see D'Antoni relegate Baron into spot up shooting duties.
  13. Not a huge baseball fan by any means, but god damn that is a lot of money. Is Fielder worth almost 25 a year?
  14. The question is how much is he worth. If you asked me this before the season, I would have said borderline max money, but he has been pretty disappointing to me statistically this year. Still, if I was the Raptors, I wouldn't hesitate to give him a shade unedr max money if he was a free agent, I think dude is a legit all-star in this league moving forward at the 2. EDIT: he's only played 2 games my mistake. I would probably throw him 4 years and around 60M honestly, I think he is worth it. No reason he can't be close to a 24-5-5 guy as a key player, or around there.
  15. Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Kobe and Shaq have a few run-ins before Phil was even the coach? These two guys were polar opposites, it wouldn't of mattered who was coach, conflict was inevitable.
  16. Bargs would fit perfect next to Dwight. I don't picture him fitting "perfect", or close to perfect, anywhere else honestly. I can just imagine the Knicks interior defense with Bargs and Amare up front, good lord.
  17. Lakers should do the deal while they can. Going to regret it 2-3 years from now if they don't imho.
  18. Where is that article from? Pierce's value is a couple of mid to late first rounders, sorry, but that is the truth.
  19. Yo the Raps are TAKING OVER OTR. Keep ya heads up Laker fans.
