Why can't Gallo be a star? He was absolutely perfect for D'antoni's system. No reason he couldn't be a 20/5 guy and a solid defender. And Chandler probably would've been resigned. He supposedly loved playing in NY, and Walsh said he was determined to keep him. Felton is way better than Billups for the Knicks current system. Billups, especially at his age, is a much better half-court style PG than he is running the break and pushing the ball. Not to mention Felton is a better passer and has built up a great rapport with STAT. IDK, I still think we're giving up too much for Carmelo. If it were LeBron or Kobe (in his prime) I'd be like OK, do it NOW. But Carmelo is a good player, but he isn't great. I hope he proves me wrong if we get him. I enjoy watching him play. I'll be excited to watch him play. But do I think he's great? Nope. I think he's good. A great scorer, but he doesn't do much else well.

I don't think this is done. Supposedly Walsh and D'Antoni are dead set against this deal , but is being pushed upon by owner James Dolan...and I agree, giving up 3/5 of you're starting five is just brutal. Two of those guys are still getting better and better each year, and Felton is a hard working, tough player who is a very good passer and has surprised a lot of people this year. I'd be shocked if this happens. I could definitely see Felton and Chandler or Gallo and Felton or Gallo and Chandler but all three? I don't think the Knicks are parting ways with all three. I'll believe it when I see it.

Nuggets Reach Tentative Agreement On Carmelo Trade
JYD replied to Celtics3420's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Disagree with the bolded, and agree with the italicized. First of all, no one in NYC cares about the Nets. Once they are actually in Brooklyn in a few years, I'm sure they'll get their followers. But the Knicks in NYC and the history involved at the Garden is crazy man, I'm not sure if you're from the area, but there is a big difference. Everyone in the city is a Knicks fan. You don't find Net fans there. It isn't like the Mets/Yankees or Jets/Giants. Yes the Yankees and Giants are better historically, but there's still a ton of Met and Jet fans. Nets, however, their fan base is quite poor outside of NJ and it's evidenced by their ticket sales. Like I said, once they are playing in NY, they'll garner more NYC fans for sure...but it'll still be playing for the 2nd NBA franchise in the City; and this isn't even being biased...it's reality. Now, with the entire Wade Bosh LBJ thing...Wade recruited LBJ and Bosh. If Wade was in NY, the two would've come to NY. It really had nothing to do with the fact that it was going to miami and playing for that franchise over playing for the knicks. it had to do with wade was already settled there and he said hey guys come on down here we can do something special. Lets be honest. No one really expected that to happen in May when LeBron got bounced from the playoffs...No one expected the players to team up like that. There were speculations but no one expected that sort of teaming up. I do agree that the Nets and Knicks are still both very far away with building a Championship team. They'd both gut their team at this point for Melo...looks like NYK may just give up their three best defensive players and 3/5 of their starting lineup....they are very very far away from championship with their starting 5 being billups fields williams (i'd assume) melo stat The Knicks have only recently this past year been under the cap. Due to the idiocy of Scott Laden, he and then compounded by Isiah Thomas managed to run the franchise into the ground the past decade, taking on ridiculous contracts of overpaid, overrated super stars...took a while to get back but there's definitely a buzz back in the Garden. -

Jason Kidd is a completely different player than Melo. Kidd was widely known for making all of his teammates better. One of the best leaders/passers of our time. And also, the Nets had a formidable roster to go along with him. Anyway... We'll see what happens. I think it'd be exciting for the fan base of NJ but I do not think from a basketball standpoint it is a good move for them. -

And still make the playoffs this year...something we haven't done in like 6 seasons and be over .500 for the first time in a decade... AT THIS POINT, I'd give up (as Donnie Walsh and the Knicks): Gallo Chandler 1st rd pick (involving third team, anthony randolph) Curry If the Nuggets wouldn't accept that...then I'd give up. Giving up Fields, and/or felton as well in the ^above deal would just be absurd. -

Lol...good point but still interesting to see how desperate NJ is even though they are raping their future in the deal and the fact that they won't be any good with a melo / lopez combo alone. they'd have no role players / bench at all with this deal and noooo future. they are going to have like a top 10 pick this year most likely. -

regardless. im sure hes just in the deal so contracts match up. but still taking 3/5 out of our starting lineup for a great scorer is too much. this deal is great for denver, power to them, i'd def accept this if i were them -
I'm at CC too where the class sizes are smaller and run a lot more like HS then lectures at big universities.

If they want Felton, Chandler, AND Gallinari, 1st rd pick and Curry they can go [expletive] themselves. -
well it depends on class size and [expletive]. some of my classes there are only like 15 students, so the professor can pick out the people easily. most of my professors are pretty tough on the texting [expletive], but they only call you out on it if you're sitting there on your phone all class. If you send a text real quick during the entire class, they won't bother you or probably even see you.

lmao wtf that [expletive]a is retarded

Knicks Turn Down Deal For Anthony on Monday
JYD replied to The Regime's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
No way Billups is better than Felton at the stage of their careers right now...Felton on the Knicks is wayyy better than Billups on the Knicks considering the system as well. If we had to give up Chandler, Fields, Randolph, Curry I'd say do it. But not if we have to include Felton or Gallo. Gallinari is easily going to be a 20/7 guy in D'Antoni's system for years to come. We are already thin in the backcourt with Felton, so losing him would make our team even worse (having a solid PG in Dantoni's system is HUGE)... Walsh said...and I agree.... "I walk away from every game thinking I've got to do something. I wake up every day thinking that. If it's not going to make you better, no matter how much you want to do something, you can't do it." -

I wouldn't really call giving up 3/5's of your starting lineup that consists of 2 out of the 3 being under the age of 24 'role players.' They have the ability to improve (as Gallo, Fields, and Chandler continue to do each and every year) Right...but Marbury was once considered the best PG in the league. Or at least one of them. Dude was unbelievable at the peak of his career. Yeah... That's true. Melo is absolutely a better player... But anyway, less about Marbury, more about the present... The present says giving up Felton, Chandler, Gallo, Eddy Curry's huge contract dumb, and a 1st rounder for Carmelo and a washed up Billups who doesn't fit our system at all is foolish. -

Cmon Flash, really showing your homerism. Donnie Walsh is one of the best basketball minds in the NBA....Just as Riley is. Let's stop with the biased comments here. -
Fields, Gallinari, and Chandler are all under the age of 24...so it's not like they're trading a bunch of role playing scrubs. We are not sure what the future holds for these guys. Fields will most likely be a role player his entire career, but Chandler and Gallo have the ability and potential to be an absolute star in this league within the next 2 or 3 seasons... Gallo has the ability to be a 20 and 7 guy with solid defense. And Chandler pretty much the same, a great slasher, mediocre shooter (that continues to get better) and a solid defender as well. Losing those two would be huge to gain a great scorer, but a guy who isn't a terrific rebounder and an average defender at best in Carmelo.

Should LeBron have signed with the Clippers instead of the Heat?
JYD replied to a topic in General NBA Discussion
No...heat are a really good team. I believe their role players fit in nicely...But They've struggled w/ some injuries and against the top competition but that'll change once April, May and June come. -
Yeah I would. Melo and Blake Griffin would be a formidable tandem.

you never heard that song? it's actually pretty good. anyway, the drake-rihanna performance was pretty good since rihanna is hot and drake's verse went well with the track. but other than that the entire grammy's sucked.

em's performance was wack...Lol

I thought Recovery was a good album. Pretty good production, a lot of nice features... Anyway, B.o.B. always puts on a nice performance. I really thought his first album was tremendous.
