Basketball Prospectus Power Rankings
JWaLL replied to Erick Blasco's topic in General NBA Discussion
I'm glad Flip at least realizes that Blatche is playing like an oversized high school guard. Sit his [expletive] down until he starts playing like a true big man. Big men don't need to be flashy. -
Wall definitely. Rubio has more flash, but Wall is the overall better player. Plus Rubio is still a bad shooter.

Anything is possible.

A good article written by Gilbert Arenas for the Washington Post. Source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/01/AR2010020102795.html ----- It was a good read, I hope he really dedicates himself to rebuilding his image. He will always be seen as "that player who brought guns to the locker room," but at least he can try to limit the hate he has drawn towards himself.
-
Nash, by far in my opinion. He is just a true magician with the ball.
-
Jamison's awful play will be the reason we lose if we end up blowing this game.
-
None that you listed will be all stars in their careers. Especially not Shelden Williams.

Still holding a lead, but the Celtics are trimming at it.

If Haywood does come to Houston via trade...
JWaLL replied to Real Deal's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
Haywood probably wouldn't resign with Houston after this season, but it all depends on Yao's health. If it is known at the end of the season that Yao will not be healthy for the next season, they will definitely make a strong push to resign Haywood. Thus, making Yao expendable or potentially retiring if his injury won't recover fully. -
That's his most attractive talent IMO. Our team lacks effort on both ends of the floor, and maybe his hard work can spark some sense of urgency for the rest of the team. Overall, the Rockets definitely win this trade, because Scola's hole can easily be filled by Landry who can get more playing time to add to his already phenomenal play. But we need to rebuild, because the individual talented pieces we have don't mesh well together and we can't win games with them. Although, if this is the first trade we make, Scola may be stuck as an undersized center for a while until we move Jamison. Projected lineup after this trade: PG: Randy Foye SG: Mike Miller SF: Tracy McGrady PF: Antawn Jamison C: Luis Scola It's not horrible, I'm just concerned with how Scola will function as a center.
-
McGrady's performance isn't a huge concern since our playoff hopes are slim to none and we definitely won't be bringing him back if he came here this season. All that matters is that we shed salary, and hopefully at LEAST get Scola out of this trade.

One of the best sigs I've ever seen I think. No exaggeration.

Ahhh hold on hold on, let's keep this solely at who you would rather take the last shot, not another Kobe vs Jordan overall thread. Some great players don't always come up in the clutch. Dirk has had his struggles in the past, as well as Lebron.

No. 1 seed already locked?

It's still too hard to compare with the variables like the ones you mentioned. Either way, you can't go wrong with either Jordan or Kobe in the final seconds, so I can't really choose.
-
It's not like him coming here for all of those players will guarantee us a playoff spot or anything. If anything, it'll just affect our chances at getting the top pick. Whether it hurts or helps those chances, who knows. I would like the trade if Haywood was replaced by someone else on the roster. And Butler is not that injury prone, especially compared to T-Mac. Haywood had already stated recently that he would love to return for D.C. He didn't give any details regarding his contract, but I'm sure a loyal guy like him wouldn't mind shedding off a few bucks for the benefit of the team so they can bring him back.
-
But we also give up a top center in Haywood, and we have a chance at resigning Miller in the offseason if we hang on to him. Butler is definitely expendable and I've been looking for us to get rid of him for a while. However, giving away all of those very productive parts for an expiring to help give us a "chance" at signing a big name free agent is risky. Our location doesn't exactly have the best reputation right now, and I don't see someone like Wade, Lebron, or Bosh putting D.C as their top choice when exploring other potential destinations. We would be a backup team for them, not a first option.
-
Not sure what you mean there, but I would much rather get rid of Mike James than Mike Miller obviously. I'm just recalling the previous rumors between Houston in Washington that included Miller and Butler being shipped together for T-Mac.
-
That's not a good statistic, you should look at the % of game winners made verses game winners attempted. Kobe has made more because his team has been put in the situation where they need a game winner more than Jordan ever did. If I am correct, Jordan has hit a much higher career % of game winners than Kobe at this point.
-
We are getting horribly ripped off in that scenario. The Rockets would need to throw in one of their contributing players in that deal in place of the draft pick, such as Scola. Even then, I'm still not a huge fan of it.
-
Mike James or Mike Miller are potential fillers for this trade if it goes down.
-
Some dude ripped that [expletive] from you and is using it on wizextreme.com. Go hunt him down.
-
Wow Mike Miller tore it up tonight, and Jamison did some serious work on the boards with 23 rebounds. Good solid win, I honestly thought we were going to lose after BARELY beating New Jersey last night.
