2011 Rookie-Sophomore Game
The Regime replied to AboveLegit's topic in NBA All-Star Weekend Archives
Wow I didn't realize that Wes Matthews was a second year player. What a beast. I like the Sophmores in this game simply because they have a better group of shooters (Curry, Derozan, Matthews). Teams normally don't play defense unless the game is tight near the end so I expect the Sophmores to just rain with their three point shooting. Plus I highly doubt they'll want to attack the basket with Griffin and Cousins defending the paint. Outside of Gary Neal and maybe Landry fields there just isn't a whole lot of shooting for the rookie team. -
Grant Hill got away with a goaltend which would have sent the game into ot (more than likely). Two straight turnovers on an inbound pass, the Suns almost completed an epic fail.

LOL at DeAngelo Hall winning Pro Bowl MVP, he didn't even deserve a spot in the Pro Bowl.
-
Vlade is obviously one of the greatest of all time, but outside of him the first two guys that come to mind are Robert Horry and Manu Ginobli. Hard to really crown one guy though.
-
Pro Bowl is a waste of time as it is, but I really feel bad for the people who actually sat down to watch this rape.

When you have to carry your team for stretches in a game, it's going to take a lot out of you. For you to pick out a couple plays and say that "he didn't display an ounce of hustle on the defensive end" is just disrespectful. He was the only guy who cared about winning the game, and it showed particularly in the fourth quarter when he had to carry the Lakers. Kobe did an good job defending both Pierce and Rondo, both were held in check while Kobe was on them. He guarded Rondo for a good part of the game and did an excellent job keeping him out of the paint and limiting his playmaking abilities. And when Kobe was forced to switch off of Rondo to Pierce, Rondo absolutely destroyed Shannon Brown and Steve Blake. Kobe shadowed Paul and contested all his shots as far as I can remember and even forced him into a couple turnovers. Luke Walton got obliterated by Pierce in the third quarter when Ron left with an injury, and even prior to that Ron was just getting torched.

And that's exactly why I sometimes think we don't get the most out of them. We want Bynum and Pau to grab rebounds and play defense but at the same time they aren't involved in the offense and they lose interest in the game. We saw that today in the 4th quarter.

Not a single offensive rebound from our bigs off that timeout.
-
Well, so much for that.
-
Pau Gasol just seems winded out there. Phil needs to pull him out and rest him for a couple minutes. Stil haven't heard anything about Bynums injury.
-
And here comes the bull[expletive] officiating...
-
Rondo got away with a blocking foul, oh well, Kobe should have passed the ball out to the right wing anyway.
-
Fisher's flopping keeping us in the game.
-
And not only that. The previous play he should have stepped out on the Paul Pierce three when Fish was screened by KG. He's playing like a chicken with his head cut off.
-
He's injured, are you even watching the game?
-
Luke Walton is just asleep out there. Holy [expletive] he sucks.
-
Bynum and Artest are both hurting, you've got to be kidding me.
-
Lkr and Warren are so silly.
-
Wow, you guys are so mean lol. But seriously, you're a Lakers fan Swish?
-
Is Chris Bosh going to be the next Kevin Garnett?
-
I'm surprised that the Celts haven't thrown more doubles at Kobe. It has been all one on one to this point, and Kobe is ripping them apart.
-
I like the fact Fisher is putting the ball on the floor and not settling for the first shot. Really efficient offense for the Lakers since Kobe checked in. KG needs to stop getting his panties in a bunch, he's blowing every little physical play out of proportion. Smart move on Doc Rivers part to sit him out, he's right on the edge of picking up a t.
-
Pau Gasol is a [expletive]ing idiot. If your not going to shot that open jumper then atleast throw it down instead of taking in some weak junk against KG.
-
Waltons playing the three right now, there's no way Joe Smith would be able to defend Daniels.
