  1. well, this is intriguing. I'm comparing their stats and Barnes is putting up better numbers than Artest. Barnes is averaging about five minutes of playing time less, but still leading him in points, rebounds, and they're the same in assists. Barnes is also a much better shooter, by the numbers. trading Artest for an expiring and extending the younger, more versatile Barnes might actually be their best option. Barnes is a California native, he seems to enjoy playing for the Lakers, and his energy and athleticism almost resemble that of Ariza. there might be a couple teams interested in Artest. I could see the Cavs and as you said, the Thunder, having interest. although, if they were to trade Ron, they'd need a SF. Barnes can't play all 48 and Walton is a joke. maybe they could send Artest to Cleveland for Ryan Hollins and Jamario Moon. another possibility might be Artest to OKC for... I can't think of anyone lol. of course, there's always the potential for three or four team deals. I'm guessing there's a club or two out there that would be willing to take Artest, allowing the Lakers to extend Barnes and get younger/better at the three spot.
  2. acquiring McGrady would probably screw up their chemistry even more, seeing as how he would take minutes from Artest. if you're suggesting they trade Artest altogether, I can't think of anyone who'd be interested, considering his contract.

  4. meh, I should have said perimeter players rather than guards, but either way, their rotation is set. Fisher/Blake Bryant/Brown Artest/Barnes Gasol/Odom Bynum/Ratliff obviously, they wouldn't trade anyone in the starting lineup for McGrady, so it'd have to be someone off the bench. maybe they could get him for Brown or Barnes, but I don't think they'd even want to make that deal. I think McGrady is better suited for a team like Chicago, personally.
  5. they don't have the assets needed to acquire Prince, and McGrady is out of the question. the reason they traded Sasha was because they were already overstocked with guards (Brown, Barnes, Blake, etc).
  6. lol at throwing in a second round pick, as if Smith isn't too much to ask for in the first place.
  7. dude, who knows? Wayne's lyrics are so vague, it's not even worth guessing. Em absolutely annihilated him on that track anyway. something that catches my interest, though, is the music video for that song. it seems... apocalyptic. in the background, there's the number 621. I think that could represent a date of significance. considering all the signs we were given before 9/11, maybe 6/21 is the next big day in our history. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rogWRdgWf18
  8. he's more of a four. they need a true perimeter player who can make outside shots and defend. they have a lot of options. they could start Marion at the three and go after a two, keep Marion on the bench and go after a two and a three, and they still have to decide whether or not to trade the expiring contracts of Butler and Stevenson. I know Butler has done a lot for this franchise, but if he's out for the rest of the year, I see no reason for them to keep him. they could trade his expiring contract, as well as Stevenson's if they so wish, and get a nice player or two in exchange. if you look at the starting lineup, you already know Kidd, Dirk, and Chandler are gonna be there at the one, four, and five, respectively. what they have to do now is decide whether or not to go after a starting two and three or just start Marion at the three and go after a two. I still think Hamilton and Prince in a package deal is their best option. Detroit is horrible and they're on the verge of rebuilding. you gotta think Rip is on the block, especially considering Ben Gordon's emergence. Dallas could take Hamilton and Prince off their hands and Detroit could get expiring contracts, young guys, and maybe a pick or two in exchange. Dallas' rotation would then look something like this (assuming they deal Butler and Stevenson): Kidd/Terry Hamilton/Jones Prince/Marion Dirk/Ajinca Chandler/Haywood
  9. that's too much for Hamilton. besides, Detroit wouldn't want Haywood's big contract. if they're going to trade Hamilton, Prince, or both, they'll want expiring contracts, young players, and/or picks. that's why I suggested they trade for Hamilton and Prince in a package deal. Detroit could unload the big contract of Hamilton and get expiring contracts in exchange. they'd probably have to get more teams involved, but yeah, I definitely think Dallas would be willing to trade Butler. you can't honestly think that's enough for Melo.
  10. here's something to help us get over this depressing list:
  11. I must say, good sir, that you're quite the skilled poster.

  12. they don't have the young assets needed to acquire Melo. I could see them going after Rip and Prince, as they could use some help at both the 2 and 3 positions.
  13. I don't know if this is a remix or what; the beat sounds familiar. I think this might be a 'Detox' leak. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUnHSgfz2ro
  14. my bad; I didn't realize Lkr made that many posts in here. I just saw all the Laker logos and assumed it was multiple members. I still want to know if he thinks it's all LeBron's fault. I'll leave this thread after that.
  15. I see what you're saying, but you have to look at it from a business perspective as well. everyone is offended by everything nowadays. the band does something just a tad bit controversial and the Orange Bowl gets hate mail, complaints, they might lose followers, donations, etc. the band, having a history of immature performances, did this to themselves. I know the band usually has nothing to do with the show, but it's a package deal when it comes to these things, all or nothing. I read the article twice. I don't know what makes you think I didn't. this is all your opinion. you call it funny, I call it inappropriate. I don't understand why you keep bringing LeBron into this, either. he has absolutely nothing to do with the band being canceled from the game. the other fans made legitimate, mature arguments. they didn't have to call people clueless and retarded; it was only Laker fans who drug LeBron into the equation. rather than blaming someone who has absolutely nothing to do with this, maybe you should put some of the blame on the band. they're the ones who put themselves on shaky grounds.
  16. I make one small suggestion and I'm whiny? that's interesting. I just wanted to improve the site and it obviously wasn't that bad of an idea because someone pinned the thread after I made it. look, no one talks about sports in this thread because we already have forums for sports. well, we have a forum for video games too, so why should it be discussed here? with this new thread, all the video gamers can talk all they want about that stuff and it won't be congesting the original general discussion thread; everyone wins. yeah, your friends lied lol.
  17. yeah, I lied about watching the game. by 'taking bad shots,' I meant he took low percentage shots. about half of them went in, but they were pretty bad looks, and they weren't working inside out.
  18. discuss all things video games and consoles here, good sirs.
  19. Yogi man, good to see you again. welcome to OTR.
  20. we have a video game subforum. it only makes sense to hold all video game discussion there. if we're going to discuss it here, we might as well eliminate the other subforum. it's common sense, but I guess we all know what Voltaire said about common sense.
