  1. this is a controversial issue that deserves investigation. fluoride is a chemical and drinking chemicals doesn't seem healthy. we need to explore its effects and determine whether or not it should be in our drinking water. it supposedly helps to prevent tooth decay, but how do we know this is true? if we just take the government's word for it, they could be poisoning us without our knowing. I call for some of the world's best dentists and scientists to come together, conduct tests and experiments, and determine whether or not we should drink fluoridated water. additionally, we should examine vaccinations and see if they contain any harmful material. http://www.fluoridealert.org/50-reasons.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACfMC4VXyM4&feature=player_embedded
  2. for the first time ever, I'll be dealing with the bull[expletive] TSA this Thursday when I fly to Oakland. has anyone had to go through this yet? if so, what would you suggest - pat down or full body scanner? I feel like I lose no matter what. being a skeptic, I feel like I'll get struck with cancer if I go through the scanner. if I opt for the pat down, knowing my luck, some guy's gonna grab my nuts. what should I do?
  3. screw that; he already has eleven rings lol. I want to see new teams coming into contention. it gets boring seeing the Lakers in the finals every year.
  4. man, they've got like eight expiring contracts, including Butler. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Cuban pulled off a blockbuster in the next month or two.
  5. that's the problem with these run and gun teams. they don't play good enough defense and don't drive the lane enough on offense. they just live by outside shooting and that's not gonna win you titles. last offseason, I said the Warriors needed defense and someone who can drive the lane. they went out and got one of the worst defensive big men in David Lee. then, they signed Wright. he's a good player, but they've already got a scorer in Ellis. they needed a slasher. Warriors and Suns won't make the playoffs this year. the Heat set themselves apart because they have the perfect combination of uptempo offense and lockdown defense. they get out and run, but only after playing solid defense. most of their easy baskets come off transitions. they're such a good defensive team, they might get ten or twenty points a game just for making a stop and running down the court.
  6. it's a reality show on Style about a bunch of people who work at a salon. I think it's entertaining lol. all the people have interesting personalities.
  7. the new episode is tonight. later.

  9. lol @ Denver trading Melo, Nene, and Harrington for an unproven Favors and a couple nobodies.
  10. you don't think Miami has any shot at winning the title this year?
  11. do you guys actually listen to Rakim and KRS-One or do you just throw them on the list because they're pioneers? I personally was never able to get into '80's hip-hop. the sound just doesn't do it for me. I could listen to '90's stuff all day, but the '80's sound is way different and just not appealing imo. I notice Rakim and KRS-One and groups like Public Enemy and Run DMC getting a lot of love, but I think it's mostly because they're some of the first to popularize mainstream hip-hop. if it wasn't for that, they'd probably get no recognition. I don't listen to any '80's hip-hop; being one of the first doesn't make you one of the best. how could you think he's one of the five best when you don't even like his music? lol @ Canibus. well, much of his popularity comes from his early work. BIG really made hip-hop popular in New York and they wanted another hometown hero after his passing. Jay and Nas became the popular east coast rappers of the late 90's and they carried it into the 21st century. I still think their beef was planned so they could increase record sales. for me, it's all about 'Reasonable Doubt.' without that album, Jay wouldn't even be in my top 25, but since nearly every song on that album was a classic, I have to put him in my top five. that was one of the first hip-hop albums I ever heard and it's still one of my all-time favorites.
  12. well, Miller's an expiring contract and Oden expires the following summer, so it's not as crazy as it sounds.
  13. what about Roy, Oden, Miller, etc? do you trade them now or give it one more go next year?
  14. thank you God; 2010 has been the longest year of my life. happy new year!
  15. that's a shame. the Blazers could have been one of the best teams in basketball. injuries to Oden and Roy destroyed their hopes of becoming champions. since firing Pritchard, things have really gone downhill for them. should they look to trade Roy and Aldridge or press on with this desperate attempt at becoming an elite team? why does everyone overlook Matthews? he's a great, young shooting guard with loads of potential. he's averaging nearly 16 ppg, he's one of the best three-point shooters in the league this year, and he just scored thirty last night against Utah. why you'd want them to trade for an older, less productive Crawford, who knows?
  16. 1. Tupac 2. Eminem 3. Nas 4. Biggie 5. Jay-Z
  17. the MLE can only be used on one player. we might be able to use that on Chalmers, but we'd lose Arroyo and possibly James Jones, Eddie House, and Big Z. the salary cap is set at $58M this year; it'll probably be even less next year. we're already on the books for $65M next season. we're gonna be about ten million bucks over the salary cap with only half a roster. like I said, we might be able to get Chalmers for the MLE, but I don't know how we're supposed to sign another five or six players when we're already over the cap by several million.
  18. the problem, though, is the salaries of the big three increase on a yearly basis. so even with six or seven guys coming off the books this summer, our team payroll will still be about the same then as it is now. I don't know if we'll be able to sign anyone with much talent. I'm guessing the salary cap will be even lower next year, so that's probably a negative. I still think we need to make a decision on Chalmers. it's going to suck if we lose him over money. he'll probably end up getting seven or eight million a year from another team. call me crazy, but I'd probably rather trade him now and get a young point guard who's locked up for a few years. I saw this happen last year when I followed the Warriors. I said all season long that they should trade Watson and Morrow and get something while they still had the chance; both players ended up leaving. the difference is that the Warriors had enough cap to replace them with guys like Dorell Wright. we won't have that luxury.
  19. Boston already has too many big men, if anything. although, if they're unwilling to extend Big Baby, I'd trade Anthony for his expiring contract. :glasses:
  20. I wasn't trying to underrate Joel. I know he's valuable to this team. I was just trying to say Thabeet could potentially put up better numbers. honestly, Houston seems like the best destination. they could use Thabeet after losing Yao and they have the prospect (Thabeet), the expiring contract (Randolph), and the pick Houston wants in exchange for Yao. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2df6qyg
  21. what's the MIC? to my knowledge, it's the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, and the Bilderberg Group who dictate affairs.
  22. Hasheem Thabeet? I know it may sound ridiculous, but I would actually pull the trigger on this deal. hear me out. although we don't know much about Thabeet's true abilities or even whether or not he's capable of being a threat in this league, I think it would be a gamble worth taking for Miami. let's face it - Anthony is doing to little to nothing for us off the bench. in 17.5 minutes this season, he's averaging less than 2 points, 2 blocks, and 3 rebounds per game. I'd say that's pretty pathetic. you need size and length to win in this league. we all know how having two seven footers in the starting lineup helps the Lakers. with Thabeet, Miami would have their own twin towers going - Chris Bosh is 7 feet give or take and Thabeet is 7'3. that type of length combined with a 7'3 Ilgauskas and a 6'8 Haslem off the bench would be deadly. here's what someone wrote about it on Bleacher Report: it might not seem like Memphis would be willing to make this deal, but given their need to extend Gasol and potentially replace Randolph, they're going to need all the money they can get. Anthony is a decent option off the bench, but he doesn't have extrordinary length or athleticism. I'd rather have 30-35 minutes of Thabeet than 18-20 minutes of Anthony. Thabeet has the size, but he's also quick enough to run with our upbeat offense. plus, the rebounding and shot blocking he would provide would be a huge lift for us, not to mention his potential for points in the paint. so, would you make this deal?
  23. we had no room on our roster for Butler and Beverley. , but I doubt either one of them would have been willing to play for our D-League affiliate. I liked their potential, but there was just no room for them considering all the veteran signings we made last summer. I suppose, if it's in our best interest. it kind of sucks for Magloire and Howard if they're just going to have to watch from the bench. yeah, I was going to change that, but forgot. Anthony should definitely get the most bench minutes for center. looking at our roster, I'm surprised at how many expiring contracts there are on this team. basically the whole team only has one year left on their deal besides six players.
