  1. dude, I'm a Rays fan, so I know all about this. this winter alone, they've lost or are going to lose Crawford, Pena, Soriano, Bartlett, and Garza. they have even more coming off the books next winter. with all that money, it's definitely possible for them to give Longoria, the face of the franchise, a huge deal. I'm not saying it's going to happen; I'm just saying it's possible. as long as they have the money, it's possible.
  2. I still have my concerns. LeBroshane combined for 75 last night; that's 72% of the total points scored by Miami. no one else is really contributing much. outside of the big three, Chalmers had the most points (8). I still think this team could beat anyone, but they have a lot to work on, still.
  3. dude, Melo wants to play in New York. why would he sign with Charlotte when he could play in his home state with Amare and potentially CP3? bigger market, more endorsements, good for his wife. he's gonna be a Knick by the start of next season.
  4. sure they can, they just won't... most likely. we have cheap ownership that probably won't give that much money to one player. it's still possible, though.
  5. he never really had a choice, dude. he's been offered an extension by Denver on several occasions and has rejected it as many times. at some point, he was going to have to tell Nuggets management that he wanted out. I respect him a lot more for this because he's letting them know that he doesn't have a future in Denver. if he kept quite, he would just leave this summer and the Nuggets would get nothing. at least this way, they could facilitate some type of deal and get something for Melo.
  6. lol @ wanting to kill someone for spreading the truth. that's why our country's on the verge of collapse. we just let the government and the fed do whatever the [expletive] they want and trust it's in our best interest. trust me, it's not. they're screwing us as I type. we as citizens must demand the truth should we wish to live free and happy.
  7. well, the article says he's locked up until 2016, so I guess they'd really only have to give a ten-year deal or something along those lines. you like the Yankees? <_<
  8. http://baseball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/22820/20101211/longoria_wants_ray_for_life_deal/#ixzz17vv1nhx2 I love this guy. he could be the face of the franchise for the next decade plus. I've been watching him ever since his college days at Long Beach. he's saying he wants to be a Ray for life even after a disappointing first round exit in the playoffs this year. the team has also already lost Crawford, Pena, and Soriano, but he still wants to stick around... that's what I call loyalty. give this man a 15-year/$300M deal. he'll be a Ray for life, or at least until he's forty. it's the AL too, so he could always DH. seriously, he's totally worth that deal. this guy's quite possibly the best 3B in the game. I just hope Sternberg isn't too much of a cheap [expletive] to keep him.
  9. I don't know; there's really no way of knowing for sure. I still think there would be at least a couple teams willing to make it happen.
  10. http://www.craniumfitteds.com/images/Tampa-Bay-Devilrays-Cooperstown-New-Era-B;acl-Gray-And-Royal-Blue-Fitted-Cap-59fifty-Hat-2.jpg damn, that's nice; that should be the actual Rays cap.
  11. I agree with you about the MLE's. they should really just use a hard cap imo; then they wouldn't have to have all these ridiculous exceptions. I wouldn't really oppose cutting salary restrictions in trades, though. that would allow for a lot more deals, which I love.
  12. you and I are probably the only ones in favor of the leaked documents. we could expose our government for the corrupt scum they really are, and yet people are mad at Assange of all people. get a grip - this has nothing to do with national security. they just don't want the public knowing their dirty, little secrets.
  13. they're nothing alike, actually. having a no trade clause allows the player to a reject any deal. Melo, however, has no choice at all. to say no team would trade for a half year of Melo is also ridiculous.
  14. that's the whole point of a proposal lol. you shoot for the moon and see what you get. the last CBA gave too much power to the league and not enough to the players. they want their cut now. how? why? no one has explained why they think these proposals are over the top. you all just say, 'oh, this is so ridiculous,' as if the league's proposals aren't even more ridiculous. do you guys realize Stern has asked to rollback current player contracts? in other words, he wants to take money from the players who have already signed contracts. do you really think that's fair, at all?
  15. well, the Warriors should have never traded him. he would have been great in their upbeat offense. unfortunately, NBA teams don't give young guys much of a chance if they can't impress immediately. so somehow, they thought paying David Lee $80M to be a 15/10 guy with no defense would be the better choice. sorry, I was strongly against that deal and had to vent real quick. I could see Randolph fitting in well in Phoenix or Charlotte, but neither of those teams have desirable assets. if Denver was smart, they'd just trade Melo for Randolph, Galo, and a couple others, but... that's not gonna happen. the bottom line is this guy deserves a chance to play. not even being in a rotation is ridiculous. why do you call him a bonehead? what has he done to deserve that name? of course he's going to have a low shooting percentage, dude. he's only taken 33 shots this whole damn year. when that happens, you're either going to have an inflated percentage or a deflated percentage. you can't base a guy's ability off 33 shots. when given a chance to play, Randolph can do great things. that's the problem, though - he hasn't been given much of a chance.
  16. the song is terribly disappointing; hopefully it doesn't go on 'Detox.'
  17. I wouldn't really call them demands; I'd say they're more like proposals. which of them do you find 'ludicrous?'
  18. I'm sure they're just shooting for the moon. that's always what happens at the beginning of business negotiations.
  19. definitely the Kings. they're probably going to relocate in the somewhat near future anyway. Warriors are the team in the bay area.
  20. I think LeBron still wants to be loved, but that ship sailed a long time ago. he needs to accept the role of villain and let the world hate. the only way he wins is getting a ring.
  21. even after that horrible start, Miami is still a top three team in the east. people need to hop off Spo's nuts for awhile and just let the man coach.
  22. this is just part of an essay I wrote for my English class. it's about the new collective bargaining agreement and how the league has changed. I would post the whole thing, but it was ten pages long lol. this is just the last two paragraphs. it's my thoughts on Stern and how he has way too much power over the players and the rest of the league.
  23. he probably bought it for his parents or something. guys that rich don't buy homes like that for themselves. yes, yes it is. the most beautiful homes I've ever seen are in Florida.
  24. McGrady is pretty much irrelevant anymore. it's a shame; his career was derailed by injuries. I think he's like Grant Hill in that he could have been one of the all-time greats had he stayed healthy.
