Caracter's Deal With Lakers Tied To Weight
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Clever contract. His talent is definitely worth $473,000 but he needs to keep his weight down. Like people have said above me, I would really like to see the Lakers' version of Big Baby. -
I am still pondering about whether to get it on 360 or PS3, but I would be interested to be a part of this league if I do indeed choose PS3.

This thread is for real? Just so I am keeping with the topic, Jay-Z, no doubt.

This 2010 team definitely play more like a team than the 2008 team but heck, the individual talent of the 2008 team is so damn good that this isn't even a comparsion. Besides Durant, no one in the team now would be gettin >10 mins of PT per game in the 2008 team, that's how good they were

What mode/feature do you want to see in an NBA video game?
Newman replied to Poe's topic in Video Gaming Forum
That's been something I've been thinking about for a long time, although it sounds like an awfully complicated process. This way, guys can update the commentary which is good. -
Boozer thinks Bulls can be title contenders
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Didn't Rose just scored like the last 4 points for Team USA against Spain a week or so ago thanks to his power and quickness? -
USA better not play as bad as they did for the first half against Tunisia.

Boozer thinks Bulls can be title contenders
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
I wouldn't rule us out completely. It is definitely a hard task and it requires other teams to get worse (Celtics, Magic, Lakers etc.) and for us to get better, starting with Rose. -
Clippers, because I can't possibly have a worse reputation among players than Donald Sterling. They also got a possible leader in Baron Davis/Blake Griffin + loads of talent.

Stuckey Has Dropped Significant Weight
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Detroit Pistons Team Forum
He was playing nice basketball in his rookie season, definitely did not lived up to expectations last season. Hopefully he can do well again so that Will Bynum won't get many minutes although I don't think he is a PG nor a SG so... -
Knicks Turned Down Deal For Fernandez
Newman replied to ChosenOne's topic in New York Knicks Team Forum
Considering that the Knicks had Sergio Rodriguez, who went back to Spain this off-season, they probably know that Rudy's mind is elsewhere and he definitely won't get the shot number he wants with any NBA team. I am sure Knicks have enough shooters already and although Fernandez would be a perfect fit to the system, he will take away the shot attempts that could go to other guys like Danilo, Chandler or Felton. -
According to ESPN Insider he got a $1.03 million qualifying order (I don't have insider so I don't have the article, only saw the heading). I thought he did a decent job as an athletic back-up last year so I am surprised the amount of money offered was quite low. I don't know why the Cavs would want him back though, they got Eyenga waiting in the wings and they can put Jamison at the 3 to allow Hickson more time at the 4. Thoughts?

Is your shooting motion based on/similar to any NBA player?
Newman replied to Newman's topic in Other Basketball Discussion
Yeahh true, I guess a better question would be whether your shooting form is similar to any NBA player? -
Steve Francis: Overrated or Underrated
Newman replied to htownborn's topic in General NBA Discussion
He might be overrated in China in his days with Yao but anywhere else I don't think he is overrated, or underrated for that matter. He can score, no doubt, and the general public regarded him as a legit scorer. I think that impression of him fits quite well. -
Yeah the Jazz is definitely not a bad team, but they are filling holes, not upgrading their roster which I consider to be lacking in depth in comparison to other teams. The Nuggets and the Hornets aren't 20-30 win teams either, but you have seen what Melo and Paul has done. To me, if CP3 gets his wish and gets traded to a contender then I believe Deron might request a trade. Just because of the fact that they are competing for the top PG spot. If Paul gets on a contender and provide 20-10 (which he will with Dwight/other dominant big man on his side) then no doubt the public's opinion of him will be better.

NBA Elite's presentation is real nice. But everything else is all advantage to 2K.

The scores are WAYY too close at the moment.

I suppose with Collison at the helm then the Pacers would play more of a half-court offense, which means the traditional line-up would come into play. However, if TJ Ford/AJ Price is controlling the ball, I can see 3 swingmen running with the PG in transition as the pace is pushed higher.
-
Once again, another blowout expected.
-
At the moment, there is only two positions locked up in the Pacers: PG with Darren Collison and C with Roy Hibbert. Obviously Granger would be a lock to start as well, but I wonder whether he will start at SF or PF. If I remember correctly, Paul George is also promised a starting spot. However, who would you choose as SG,SF and PF respectively for the Pacers for the majority of the season? For me, it is the 'best combination available' regardless of the opponents. Therefore, I am going with Danthay Jones for defense, Danny Granger for scoring and Tyler Hansbrough for rebounding + the little things in the post.

As this article written by Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News pointed out, barring any further signings, only 3 Spurs players are above 30 (Manu, McDyess and Duncan). Jefferson and Bonner just turned 30 recently and all the other players are below 30. While saying goodbye to veterans like Keith Bogans and Roger Mason Jr., they signed guys like Alonzo Gee (really good player in the D-League), Gary Neal and the most exciting prospect of all, Tiago Splitter. What are your thoughts on the now relatively young Spurs team and what is your prediction on the Spurs' record for next season. My guess is that Gee will take up a role on the bench and some of Jefferson's minutes and Splitter will take over the center spot by the end of the season. I think they will just miss out on 50 wins, with my prediction being 48 wins to 44 losses. Also, Hill will give Pop a headache over whether to start him or Parker. Hill did a nice job last season and he will keep on improving.

Those guys weren't really talented though. J.R Smith have the physical attributes and skill set to be a top-tier player, he just need to have the right mindset and the right coach.
