A good short-term back-up like Flip Murray. Hornets need as many scorers as they can get.

Free agent Wesley Matthews meets with Blazers
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
Not to mention they lost Korver as well and Ronnie Brewer mid- last season. With no replacements for them as of now, that's 4 players in the rotation gone for nothing. I believe in Jerry Sloan, but he need more players to work with. Just pulling up D-Leaguers like Gaines and Jeffers won't be enough. -
If you are a playmaker, I.Q is definitely more important than instincts. However, for any other style of play or position, instincts it is.

That might work when the frontcourt consist of Amir Johnson/Ed Davis and Diaw. Bargarni is not a physical player so the Raptors would be disadvantaged if they play Diaw and him together.

Cool. Anyone know how good is Asik? -
Atlanta Hawks: Childress sign-and-trade in works
Newman replied to Cobb's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
An athletic swingman, just what the Suns need. -
Don't know if anyone noticed but on the same article regarding the Hedo trade they say Raptors are going to use its trade exception and send it to Charlotte for Diaw: Source Diaw has been solid for the Bobcats the past season and I like the idea of replacing Hedo with him for the Raptors. Not sure why the Bobcats want the trade exception though, they need more offensive options and trading Diaw is not going to help that unless they have a pending trade in place.

Ronnie Brewer has offer from Chicago
Newman replied to Gorilla Dog's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Come on sign the deal. All we need then is to get a big man as Miller might go (or re-sign him) and get a veteran PG as I don't really trust Pargo or Law. Not too much money required. -
Ben Wallace set to sign 2-year deal with Pistons
Newman replied to Dzy's topic in Detroit Pistons Team Forum
I thought he is going to retire after the past season, but as long as he is staying with the Pistons I am happy. -
I like it for both sides. Raptors get their wish in trading Hedo and Phoenix gets a guy who was averaging nearly 20 PPG 3 seasons ago. He is still only 31 so I do not believe that his decrease in PPG the following seasons is due to aging. Suns is still an interesting team to watch in my books.

Great underrated player. He would help the Blazers a lot. -

Good fit. -
Juwan Howard, James Jones and Raja Bell close to signing?
Newman replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
If Juwan can do a decent job starting for the Blazers last year he can certainly provide some help off the bench for the Heat. -
Petro? 3.33 mil per year? Really? So much for all the talk about teams cutting back their budget.

What, Me Worry About Heat? No Way
Newman replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
This. Also, what else would you expect him to say. He wouldn't tell his team to throw the white towel into the ring before the season even started. -
I love this season's Western Conference. All the teams got stronger. 1. Lakers - Kobe. Gasol. 2. Rockets - Yao coming back would be a big lift. The rest of the roster contains great role players and scorers. 3. Blazers - If Oden is healthy this team will be great. 4. Mavs - They are a year older but still a team to be wary of. 5. Thunder - Westbrook, Jeff Green, Ibaka and the rest of the supporting cast should get better with experience. And they have Durant. 6. Nuggets - George Karl coming back should stable things. But the lack of a steady attacking option besides Billups and Melo hurts. 7.Spurs - A year older. A year worse off. 8. Clippers - If the West isn't this strong I would put them higher. Blake Griffin + the addition of Foye, Gomes, Aminu will give them a big boost. 9. Suns - No Amare really hurts. 10.Jazz - They really aren't that much worse off replacing Boozer with Millsap. The lack of depth in the bench will hurt though. 11. Grizzlies - Pretty much the same team so the same results should be expected. 12. Hornets - Sorry, just can't see CP3 passing to many other scorers out there except for West. He does the most damage with his passing, not his scoring. 13. Warriors - Exciting team to watch but won't get much results. 14. Kings - The rest of the West is too strong. Team to watch in the future though. 15. Timberwolves - Their star player if Big Al gets traded would be Kevin Love, Jonny Flynn or Michael Beasley...yikes. Wes Johnson has a bright future though.

Is this the best offseason for any city in sports history?
Newman replied to Flash's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Real Madrid getting C.Ronaldo and Kaka amongst others last year was pretty impressive. -
Redick as well? As long as he isn't starting I am happy.

This trade gives me further belief that they are going to move Big Al.

Man claims to be Lebron's father: sues Lebron and mother
Newman replied to JWaLL's topic in Miami Heat Team Forum
Reminds me of a guy who claimed to be Penny Hardaway's father but was 14 years of age when Penny was born. Shows how hungry some people is of fame. -
First thing I noticed: Anyway, I don't think the Heat can offer more money than the Lakers can, so Fish is going to stay.

I don't want to lose Gibson as I believe he can be an energizer off the bench. Still, Iggy would be too good to pass on.

Bulls To Sign Kyle Korver: 3 Years, $15M
Newman replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
If we are getting Brewer we are making ourselves pretty much a copy of the Jazz I would love getting Brewer though. Athletic and a good defender, he can fit right into the 2 guard spot. Love the Korver signing as well, we are desperate for a shooter. Hopefully we retain Flip and then sign a veteran PG to back-up Rose and our backcourt is set. -
Broussard: Bulls Did Not Offer LeBron Enough Perks
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
It will gain us more respect, but that's about it. Still, I agree with their decision in making the Bulls a "management-first" team.
