Welcome to the best, I look forward to discussing some Laker basketball with ya.
-
Our enitre database was wiped out several months ago, so we lost everything. Everyone had to re-register new accounts. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to restore your old account. But, since you're back hopefully you can stick around and discuss some basketball with us. We'd love to have ya.

Welcome back to the greatest.

You can pick up the season box sets for fairly cheap if you look around. Rightstuf.com has them on sale for $20 for the first few sets. http://www.rightstuf.com/cgi-bin/catalogmgr/vebJ12sTi1GvngbHBL/browse/item/80000/4/0/0 I used to watch Case Closed whenever it was on Adult Swim back in the day. They put it at a terrible time slot though, so I wasn't able to watch it on a consistent basis. Good show though.

L.A. Lakers @ Golden State
GamerGuy replied to alcstarheel's topic in Golden State Warriors Team Forum
What the heck, the Lakers never play on Saturday. NEVER. We should win this one without too much trouble. It'll be interesting to see how we can handle a fast paced team like the Warriors. -
That's some horrifying numbers to see. When you have a close game on your hands, and the game is nearly over, you can't solely rely on your offense to pull you through. You need to be able to get some defensive stops without fouling to help ensure a win. I can't really remember the last time the Raptors were decent defensively, but I think you guys need to bring in some guys on the coaching staff that are defensive minded. Granted it falls to the players in the end on whether or not they'll be more aggressive defensively, but it is definitely a starting point.

I think in this case, moving a Mayo to point and benching Conley would be your best bet. If anything, it might just motivate Conley to play better when he sees that other players are getting more burn than him.

I suppose I should go to sleep, I am helping with all the cooking tomorrow. ^_^ Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful time.

Is Amare Stoudemire a "Top 5" PF?
GamerGuy replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in General NBA Discussion
In no particular order: Duncan Gasol Dirk Bosh Garnett I'd say he's on the outside sitting in, but he's right there for the most part. -
I'm looking forward to a lifetime of ridiculous taxes once I graduate and enter the work force. And that's if I can even find work to begin with. Well, at least I can look forward to continuing my education at one of the great UC schools out here. But that's only if this administration doesn't continue to raise tuition costs, Ã la UCLA. Well, at least I'll have a government run healthcare plan, since that's all I can afford. I'll have to be careful though, because the plan won't kick in for another 4-5 years.

Breaking news: Allen Iverson retires
GamerGuy replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
A lot of people feel that he shouldn't, but that's a debate for another time. Guess he decided to listen to my advice and just retire. I'm a little surprised, actually. I figured he would meander around for a while before actually doing it. Just wait for it, he turns out like Brett Favre and comes out of retirement next year. -
I can't say what his intention was, because I can't read his mind...but I can tell you that he wasn't trying to get a rise out of fans. Probably just pushing for some activity, but it came across the wrong way. Either way, discussing this issue isn't going to do much good for the original topic at hand, so let's get back on track.

People can ask to be unbanned, and most of the time we do give people second, or even third chances. Maybe we shouldn't, though.

If you could give Phil any advice...
GamerGuy replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Well, Sasha's minutes have been cut drastically, and Shannon Brown has been in the rotation much more, so hopefully he's already realized it. -
And yes, we reserve the right to ban people who are disruptive. Its like if OTR was a restaurant, and someone was being completely disruptive, we have the right to throw them out. He might of not broken any rules per say, but when he's being disruptive, and or annoying, we have that right.

Brandon has a right to his opinion. He doesn't like the Wizards, and that's fine. N4S doesn't like the Lakers, and he's entitled to his opinion. Again, that's fine. We've allowed some baiting over the year, within reason. Brandon said that Brand sucks, and that's his opinion. Its also been echoed by almost every 76er fan here that Brand sucks. The Lakers get bad mouthed all the time. They deal with it. The thing is, what Brandon is doing isn't even bad. He may not shed favorable light on your team, but hey, he doesn't have to. He lets their record speak for itself. What YOU have to do, is deal with it. People aren't going to like your team. That's just a fact of life. There's a fine line between severally baiting a team, and showing disgust for a team. Brandon shows disgust for the Wizards, he doesn't severally bait them.

Gil-Zero, just drop it man. Is it worth it to lose your membership here over defending a guy who's a known trouble maker? Standing up to authority on a forum message board doesn't make you a bad ass, it makes you look stupid. Just drop it, and move on. Discuss the game tonight, not about how we run our site and why we ban members.

Diesel was banned because: He baited the hell out of Yankee fans. He baited the hell out of Cowboy fans. He baited the hell out of Redskin fans. He baited the hell out of Mets fans. He baited the hell out of Laker fans. He used member's pictures, without their permission, for personal attacks. The quality of his posts were trash. For every good post he made, he made twenty trashy ones. He would only post in Laker, Mets, Cowboy, Redskin, Yankee threads if they lost. If they lost to one of the respective Philly teams, he would come in and scream "OWNED" like a nine year-old with ADD. And it certainly didn't help that he was annoying, inconsiderate, acted like a jerk and didn't bring anything good to the forums. That reason enough?

If you could give Phil any advice...
GamerGuy replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I don't mind Fisher starting, and Phil is doing a good job of keeping his minutes down. We definitely need that so Fish will be fresh come playoff time. What Phil needs to do is kick Sasha, Morrison, and Farmar out of the rotation. Just give all the minutes to Brown. -
Wizards Owner Abe Pollin Dies At 85
GamerGuy replied to AboveLegit's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
Granted, I didn't really know he was, but its always sad to see someone so beloved by everyone to pass on. R.I.P, Mr. Pollin. -
Back in the day, there was a certain Laker fan on this forum that baited the hell out of Suns and Kings fans. Brandon, as well as I, hated the Suns back then, but we wouldn't stand for a member baiting like that, no matter what team he represented. He was banned.

Ron Artest on Jimmy Kimmel
GamerGuy replied to The Artesticle's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
Hahaha, that was great. -
We should win this one fairly easy, as long as we stick to our gameplan. We need to exploit their lack of size in the paint, and control the pace of the game. No quick shots, which will be interesting when our second unit comes in, and we can't get caught up in their pace. Pound the paint, keep Duhon and Robinson out on the perimeter, and we should win.
